Colour Forecast 2026

At the heart of painting is the hand. It’s part of every step – choosing shades, testing swatches, and finally bringing colour to the wall. Paint is not abstract or artificial; it’s tangible, textured, and deeply human. The hand makes it real: authentic, unique, and a mark of craft.

Our new colour combinations reflect the same spirit of celebrating imperfection and individuality. They don’t just cover surfaces, but respond to daily life. Thus, we looked to our surroundings for inspiration – horizons, waters, city streets, and wild gardens. From this we curated four distinct colour ‘worlds’; Butter + Sky , Land + Sea , Fashion + Candy and Orchard + Blooms Each world celebrates contrast and harmony, offering curated colours that unite to form immersive palettes.

From swatch to wall, the process becomes a story told by the human hand and the transformative power of colour.

new stores, new buying group

The retail sector is experiencing significant transformation with major international players expanding their footprint in South Africa. MR.DIY has opened its second store at Irene Village, following the success of its Menlyn Mall outlet, offering over 17 000 products at everyday low prices. Meanwhile, Walmart launched its first branded South African store at Fourways Mall in October 2025, marking a historic milestone despite its existing presence through Massmart subsidiaries. Adding to the competitive landscape, new buying group BUYCO emerges (see page 58), promising independent merchants corporate buying power while preserving their entrepreneurial independence.

These developments signal intensifying competition and evolving retail strategies focused on value propositions and market accessibility.

This month’s Retailer’s Guide focuses on Hand Tools (page 25), which is a must-read feature; Plascon has released its 2026 Colour Forecast (page 17); and have a look at all the festivities that took place at this year’s Mica Market (page 86).

Sealant market shows resilient volume growth despite significant pricing pressures

In this segment of product category overviews in the hardware retail sector, Aquidneck reports that the DIY sealant market demonstrated solid resilience year-to-date with +1.5% volume and +2.2% value growth, led by the value growth of silicone sealants, despite broad deflationary pressures causing a decline in prices.

The sealant category continues to show solid performance in the DIY retail sector. In the year-to-date (January to July 2025), the overall market grew by +1.5% in volume and +2.2% in value, indicating healthy underlying demand. Silicone sealants remain the standout performer, with value growth of +5.3%. Expanding foams followed with +4.4% growth, and acrylic sealants rose by +2.6% in value. In contrast, smaller segments like

polyurethane (PU) sealants are contracting. Despite the value growth, the sealant market is experiencing deflationary pressure, with average prices declining -7.9% YoY to R81. This trend is largely driven by price drops in smaller, niche segments, while core segments show more moderate declines:

• Silicone sealants: -1.8% to R86

• Acrylic sealants: -2.9% to R48.

Retail pricing for sealants remains under pressure, with the overall average price declining by 7.6% year-on-year to R81. This decline is largely driven by a sharp 11% drop in the price of PU sealants, which continues to reflect the broader macroeconomic challenges facing the DIY and construction markets. Consumers remain price-sensitive, and the category has struggled to maintain value under current economic conditions.

On the other hand, expanding foams have demonstrated strong price stability, with average prices holding at about R183, showing little

Alcolin remains the clear market leader, offering a broad and balanced product portfolio across all major segments. However, it has lost three percentage points in value share since March 2025, largely to the benefit of Soudal, which has risen to a 14% value share as of July. Other key players include Bostik and Den Braven holding stable in the low double digits, with more specialised offerings focused on silicone and PU products. Sika a notable brand experiencing declining market share since Q2. Private Labels contribute roughly 7% in value, focusing narrowly

to no movement year-on-year. This suggests steady demand and relatively balanced supply conditions in this segment.

Silicone sealants experienced a modest decline of 1.8%, with the average price now at R86. The decrease is attributed to price pressure in the 260ml pack size, which represents a significant portion of sales volume within the segment.

Acrylic sealants also posted a year-on-year price drop of 2.9%, bringing the average down to R48. The decline is primarily driven by lower pricing in the critical 310ml capacity, a key format in the value-focused end of the market.

VOLUME AND VALUE SHARE:

Silicone sealants contribute 45% of retail volume and 48% of value, maintaining a stable share Acrylic sealants account for 42% of volume and 25% of turnover

• PU sealants, while only 7% of volume, command 15% of value due to high unit prices

• Expanding/filler foams fill the remaining share with 5% in units and 11% in value.

on acrylic and silicone products and avoiding the expanding foam segment.

Alcolin’s strength lies in its wide and balanced product range, supporting consistent performance. Soudal, now the fastest-growing major brand, mirrors Alcolin’s comprehensive coverage with strong offerings in every key segment and no evident weaknesses. Bostik and to some extent Den Braven serve as niche specialists complementing Alcolin, while private labels are still limited in scope, particularly missing out on expanding foams.

RETAIL MATTERS

SEALANTS OVERVIEW

Acrylic sealants are showing solid performance year-to-date, with value sales up 2.6% and unit sales rising 1.2%, outperforming the total sealants market. Most acrylic sealants –88% of volume – are sold as single units, while 12% are sold in multipacks, mainly triple packs. The share of multipack sales has steadily increased over the past three years, from 6% in Q1 2023 to 12% as of July, highlighting a shift toward better-value deals, particularly popular in the final quarter of each year. Despite this growth, the market has yet to capitalise on

more varied multipack formats, such as double or quad packs.

Private label products remain stable, accounting for 9%–10% of monthly sales volume, a share unchanged for three years, suggesting limited momentum. Consumers are gradually shifting toward the more affordable 260ml capacity, with larger formats losing share.

From a brand perspective, Arkema (Alcolin) remains the market leader, while Soudal is the fastest-growing major brand, driven by aggressive pricing and increased visibility.

Silicone sealants are performing strongly year-to-date, with unit sales up by 3% and value sales rising by an impressive 5.3%. Unlike acrylic sealants, which are seeing growing multipack adoption, silicone sealants are still predominantly sold as single items, with multipacks playing a negligible role in the category.

A notable trend is the steady rise of private label brands, which have nearly doubled their share over the past two years — from 8% of total sales volume to 17% as of July. This growth signals increasing consumer openness to lower-cost alternatives in a competitive market environment.

The silicone sealant market is highly competitive, with Arkema fielding three brands:

• Alcolin and Den Braven, both focused on generalpurpose applications

Expanding (or filler) foams continue to perform well, with year-to-date growth of +2.4% in units and +4.4% in value. This segment differs from acrylic and silicone sealants in both usage and consumer behaviour. Primarily used for filling gaps, sealing cavities, enhancing insulation, and stabilising pipes, expanding foams are typically used in larger quantities per application.

The 750ml pack dominates, accounting for 55% of total volume, followed by 500ml at 22% and 250ml at 12%. The 600ml format is niche, exclusive to

Pricing for expanding foams centres around the R200 mark for premium brands, with fire-retardant variants commanding higher prices due to their specialised safety features. There is minimal price differentiation between 500ml and 750ml packs — typically R20 to R30, and in some cases, such as Alcolin’s best-selling Filla Foam, just R8. This narrow spread makes the 750ml format far more attractive to consumers, offering better value per millilitre. As a result, most opt for the larger size unless usage is limited or highly specific, making

a

• Bostik, positioned more toward specialised and premium offerings. Beyond Arkema, other leading brands include Soudal, Seelit, Sika, and Gluedevil, each carving out niches through pricing, packaging, or performance. Many of these brands strategically use pack size as a point of differentiation.

FOR EXAMPLE:

• Bostik and Seelit offer smaller 90ml tubes tailored to home improvement and repair tasks.

• In contrast, Alcolin, Den Braven, and Soudal focus on larger, standard sizes, typically between 260ml and 300ml, targeting more general-purpose or professional use cases.

The market is competitive, led by Alcolin with just under half of total value sales. Soudal holds second position, with other national brands making up the rest. Despite this intensity, private label brands remain minor, maintaining a stable 5% share, while national brands dominate with 95% of total volume.

Continued growth in both units and value reflects steady demand, supported by the category’s specialised use and essential role in construction and renovation projects.

smaller formats less appealing.

Overall, the sealant market in the DIY retail sector remains resilient, showing modest growth in volume and value despite ongoing price deflation. Core segments, particularly silicone sealants, continue to drive performance, while smaller categories like PU sealants face pressure. Future success will depend on broad product coverage, competitive pricing, and the ability to capture value in both core and emerging segments such as expanding foams.

This segmentation by capacity, brand positioning, and price point underlines the category’s maturity and the varied consumer needs driving its continued growth.

building the future: gyproc invests in construction skills for south africa

As South Africa’s construction industry modernises, the demand for skilled drywall and ceiling installers is rapidly rising. For retailers and contractors, this trend brings opportunity. In addition to supplying materials, they are supporting a new generation of trained, confident installers.

That is where Gyproc South Africa is making a difference. Through its Saint-Gobain Technical Academy and a national training programme, the brand is bridging the gap between product innovation and practical application, ensuring that the systems sold in-store are installed to the highest standard.

TRAINING THAT DRIVES CONFIDENCE AND CUSTOMER LOYALTY

Located in Germiston South, Gauteng, the Saint-Gobain Technical Academy offers both practical and theoretical courses focused on drywall, ceilings, plastering, and partition systems. Training is open to beginners, contractors, and experienced applicators alike, anyone wanting to sharpen their skills and stay current with modern construction systems. For retailers, this creates a valuable link between sales and support. By encouraging customers, particularly contractors and installers, to participate in Gyproc’s training, stores can help ensure product satisfaction, reduce installation errors, and build longterm customer loyalty. Additionally, retailers themselves can attend the training and ensure that they impart the correct knowledge to customers wanting to tackle drywalling and ceiling installations.

“Every session does not just teach, it inspires. We want to equip participants not only with the tools of the trade but the confidence to take ownership of their craft,” says the Gyproc team.

TRAINING THAT COMES TO YOU

Recognising the need for accessibility, Gyproc’s skilled training specialists travel across South Africa to deliver on-site training directly where it’s needed, in stores, on project sites, or through partnerships with colleges and community initiatives.

This mobile approach is ideal for:

• Retailers wanting to host training sessions or product demos for applicators and installers

• Contractors preparing their teams for upcoming projects

• Colleges offering construction or technical skills programmes

• Youth development organisations focused on job readiness.

This national support gives Gyproc retailers and customers alike access to the same high standard of training found at the Technical Academy.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR RETAILERS

South Africa’s construction market is shifting towards lightweight, energy-efficient building systems that save time, reduce waste, and enhance performance. But this shift relies on the people who install them and their ability to work confidently with new technologies and materials.

For hardware and building retailers, this presents a clear advantage. A bettertrained customer base means fewer returns and site issues, and a stronger reputation for quality. Promoting Gyproc’s free, accessible training positions retailers as partners and trusted knowledge sources.

BUILDING SKILLS, BUILDING FUTURES

Gyproc’s philosophy is simple: “We don’t just build walls and ceilings, we build people, skills, and confidence.” The Saint-Gobain Technical Academy develops a skilled, professional workforce, helping retailers build a stronger future.

Retailers are encouraged to book free training and help shape the next generation of installers — one wall at a time.

JackHammer Smashes into eCommerce – Instantly

eCommerce is no longer a nice-to-have. For today’s retailers, it has become a survival tool. Yet for many independent hardware stores, moving online has felt like an uphill battle, too complicated, too costly, and too time-consuming. That may be about to change. Enter JackHammer, a new AI-driven, template-based eCommerce service designed specifically for hardware retailers. Its pitch is simple but bold: get your store online, fast, affordably, and with minimal hassle.

A STORE IN HOURS, NOT MONTHS

Where traditional eCommerce projects can take months of planning, design, and setup, JackHammer claims it can put a hardware store online in just half a day. Retailers without a website get a ready-to-run online store, while those with an existing site will soon be able to link directly via APIs, keeping product listings updated and searchable from selected suppliers on Rapidtrade.

Retailers can choose from five professional layouts, tailor their homepage, and decide whether to upload their own products or tap into a shared catalogue of thousands of listings, all complete with images and specifications.

SELLING BEYOND THE SHELF

One of JackHammer’s biggest selling points is that it allows hardware retailers to sell far more than what is physically on their shelves. By plugging into supplier catalogues, stores can instantly broaden their offering, compete with bigger chains, and grow margins, without taking on the cost or risk of extra stock.

SHOPPING IN A SINGLE CHAT

The platform leans heavily into convenience. Customers can browse across multiple supplier catalogues within a

single conversation, request accurate quotes, and finalise whether they want delivery or collection.

JackHammer also supports negotiations. Retailers can agree on products, prices, and quantities before checkout, while offering contractor-specific pricing or loyalty discounts to regulars.

ALL-INCLUSIVE AND AFFORDABLE

Unlike many tech services that pile on hidden costs, JackHammer presents its pricing as all-inclusive. Fees cover store setup and consulting, data management, training, access to catalogues, design options, unlimited customer logins, and round-the-clock support.

A GREENER WAY FORWARD

While the retail benefits are clear, JackHammer also highlights sustainability. By shifting more trade online, stores can expand their reach while trimming their carbon footprint, a growing consideration in the hardware sector.

A DIGITAL PARTNER, NOT JUST A PLATFORM

For independent hardware retailers, the leap into digital has often been intimidating. JackHammer aims to take away that fear by offering not just software but ongoing training, support, and optimisation.

The demand is there: customers expect speed, convenience, and personalisation in every retail interaction. JackHammer is positioning itself as the tool that can deliver all three, without the headaches.

For stores still hesitating on eCommerce, the message is clear: you could be trading online the very same day.

// Ideal for: Independent hardware stores looking to compete online without technical headaches //

Get your customer’s pool sparkling for summer

As summer approaches, many homeowners are preparing their swimming pools after months of inactivity to enjoy the much-anticipated warm weather. However, this process often reveals murky water, chemical imbalances, and even cracks or leaks that demand time, effort, and money to repair.

“During winter, most people do not use their pools and often cover them to conserve water and reduce chemical usage. As spring approaches, the pools are uncovered to begin preparing them for the warmer spring and summer months,” explains Pratley marketing director Eldon Kruger.

Pratley, a leader in mineral-based solutions and repair products, offers homeowners a solution. Clinobrite® pool filter medium is a smart, sustainable solution for keeping pools in pristine condition. Made from the naturally

occurring mineral Clinoptilolite, Clinobrite is a high-performance filter medium.

Unlike traditional sand or glass filter media, Clinobrite has a rough, pitted surface that allows for far more effective mechanical filtration. “This increased surface area enables significantly more effective mechanical filtration, delivering cleaner, clearer water,” says Kruger. However, Clinobrite does more than just filter out particles. Owing to its unique chemical structure, it also attracts

Eldon Kruger – Pratley Marketing Director.

and binds positively charged ions, such as ammonia and heavy metals, that are commonly present in pool water. “Ammonia serves as a nutrient for algae growth. By removing ammonia through cation exchange, Clinobrite helps reduce algae formation, resulting in clearer water and decreased reliance on chlorine,” adds Kruger.

This means homeowners can enjoy healthier water with fewer harsh chemicals, which is good news for both swimmers and the environment. Clinoptilolite, a natural zeolite mineral, is sustainably mined and requires no chemical processing, making it an environmentally responsible choice.

Its advanced filtration capabilities reduce the need for harmful chemicals like chlorine, promoting an eco-friendlier approach to pool care. In addition to this eco-friendly approach, at the end of Clinobrite’s pool filter lifespan, it can then be used as a slow-release fertiliser in garden beds, adding to its benefits.

Clinobrite can save homeowners time, money, and water. Unlike sand, which

compacts over time, Clinobrite maintains a loose structure that ensures more efficient backwashing. “Clinobrite’s lower density allows for more efficient backwashing, as the media lifts more easily within the filter. This results in shorter backwash cycles, saving both water and energy,” highlights Kruger.

Of course, pool care extends beyond the water itself. Seasonal maintenance often uncovers cracks, leaks, or loose tiles in and around the pool. These issues can easily be solved by incorporating Pratley’s range of epoxy putties providing quick, durable, and cost-effective solutions.

Pratley Standard Setting Putty cures underwater, making it ideal for repairing cracks without draining the pool. “This versatile putty provides a quick, durable solution for underwater repairs, saving both time and water,” says Kruger.

Pratley Steel Quickset® Putty, commonly used for repairing steel pipes and fittings, offers a reliable solution where dry application is necessary. These products can easily be

applied by the homeowners themselves with minimal preparation.

Importantly, these solutions are not only trusted by DIY users but also by professionals. “Our range of Pratley products is widely recognised throughout the pool industry as the go-to solution for reliable performance and excellent value. Pool maintenance companies often report that switching a pool’s filter medium to Clinobrite leads to greater customer satisfaction and long-term cost savings for the pool owner,” concludes Kruger.

buyco - independent retailers gain corporate muscle without losing their soul

Independent retailers and suppliers in the hardware and building materials industry are about to get a significant boost from a bold new initiative launched by The Building Company, the powerhouse behind Buco and TimberCity.

The new buying group, BUYCO, has been designed to give independent merchants the strength of corporate buying power while allowing them to retain their identity, independence, and entrepreneurial spirit. BUYCO already carries the trust, recognition, and credibility of a major national player, signalling to retailers and suppliers alike that this is a serious move in reshaping the sector.

A DUAL STRATEGY FOR GROWTH

BUYCO’s vision operates on two complementary tracks. Firstly, as a collective buying group, members gain access to The Building Company’s R6 billion procurement

power from day one. This translates into competitive supplier deals, improved margins, and shared logistics that cut costs and reduce lead times.

Secondly, BUYCO is grooming independent retailers for an opportunity to evolve into franchisees by mid-2026, combining corporate support with independent ownership. This dual pathway means independents can grow at their own pace, with the option to stay proudly independent or step into a structured franchise model when ready.

“This isn’t just a buying group. It’s a partnership built on trust, transparency, and shared success. BUYCO gives independents a seat at the table

with serious buying power behind them and the option to stay proudly independent or step into a structured franchise model later,” says BUYCO General Manager Rob Lister.

WHAT IS IN IT FOR RETAILERS

BUYCO offers independent building material retailers a chance to gear up without sacrificing what makes them unique.

The benefits are substantial:

• Independence with support: Members keep their name, team, and brand while gaining the backing of a trusted industry leader

Join the Building Industry’s Most Dynamic Buying Group.

SCAN TO JOIN

• Corporate-scale buying power: Immediate access to pricing and terms usually reserved for large national chains levels the playing field

• Improved margins: Enhanced supplier agreements, smarter stock management, and shared logistics drive return on investment

• Promotions and private label: Regular promotions, product launches, and exclusive private label ranges help independents differentiate themselves in their markets

• Staff development: Training and product support from suppliers empower staff and improve customer experience.

“Independence should not mean isolation. We give retailers the tools, network, and commercial firepower to trade like a national, while keeping their autonomy intact,” says BUYCO.

SUPPLIERS STAND TO GAIN TOO

Suppliers benefit from this consolidated platform through several key advantages:

• Streamlined market access: One point of entry into a growing network of independent stores, alongside Buco and TimberCity’s 130+ outlets

• Volume growth: Consolidated orders and coordinated logistics improve efficiency and drive predictable sales

• Fair partnerships: A transparent, rebatedriven model prioritises long-term relationships and sustainable growth

• Promotional power: Participation in monthly calendars, roadshows, and retailer campaigns boosts product visibility

• Stronger sell-through: Training and technical support ensure products are properly understood and sold by frontline staff.

This collective ecosystem removes inefficiencies, provides suppliers with direct communication channels to independents, and strengthens brand equity at the ground level.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

For The Building Company, BUYCO is more than a buying group. It’s a movement uniting independent retailers and suppliers under one powerful, transparent, and mutually beneficial structure. The symbolic orange square represents ‘the cherry on top’ and reflects BUYCO’s promise: do the right job, with the right people, to make the right impact. By joining BUYCO, retailers and suppliers position themselves at the forefront of a changing industry. The model ensures better margins, smoother logistics, and an environment where everyone builds smarter, faster, and stronger — together.

water security through retail partnerships

In South Africa, almost every household faces some form of water challenge – from unreliable supply and poor quality to rising costs. For retailers, this is not simply a commercial opportunity, but a chance to step forward as trusted partners in resilience, offering households solutions that bring stability, safety, and peace of mind.

WHY HOUSEHOLDS ARE SEEKING SECURITY

Municipal systems across the country are under strain. Ageing pipelines, leaks, theft, and pressure drops are now routine. In Johannesburg, up to half of all water is lost before it even reaches households, while Cape Town’s ‘Day Zero’ exposed how fragile the supply network really is. South Africans no longer take running water for granted. Many are actively seeking ways to create their own buffers, safeguard quality, and ensure continuity.

This has transformed water solutions from seasonal purchases into ongoing essentials. Customers are not just looking for products — they want guidance, assurance, and complete systems that keep their taps flowing.

FROM PRODUCTS TO COMPLETE WATER SECURITY SOLUTIONS

Its no longer enough to sell a tank. Households want safe, clean water — free from microbes, sediment, and chemicals. They want automated systems that switch

seamlessly when municipal supply fails, backed by credible advice, installation support, and warranties that build trust. Many households still rely on buying purified water, but this is costly and inconvenient. By offering DIY-friendly systems — simple to install with minimal effort — retailers can provide a cost-effective, long-term alternative. In doing so, they move beyond selling equipment to providing security, continuity, and confidence.

JoJo enables retailers to fulfil this role. Its wide range of tanks and accessories helps hardware stores address every water challenge:

• OUTAGES: Tanks paired with pumps and switchovers keep water supply steady

• CONTAMINATION: Filtration systems make water safe for household use and drinking

• HIGH COSTS: Rain harvesting reduces bills and eases municipal strain

• BOREHOLES: Smart storage, filtration and pump management maximise efficiency.

The real shift lies in the positioning. Instead of saying, ‘We sell tanks’, retailers can say, ‘We keep your taps flowing, no matter what’.

BUILDING TRUST THROUGH EXPERTISE

Success comes from becoming a trusted advisor. That means training staff to size systems correctly, explain installations, and provide guidance tailored to each household. Demonstrating local success stories reinforces credibility, showing how JoJo-based solutions have supported communities through outages.

Affordability matters too. Not every family can invest in a full setup immediately, so offering phased upgrades or financing options makes solutions accessible to more households.

Retailers who stock a full ecosystem — tanks, pumps, filters, and accessories — can meet customer needs on the spot. Training teams, partnering with local plumbers and JoJo-accredited installers, and highlighting JoJo’s long warranties all help build lasting relationships grounded in reliability.

WHY JOJO?

JoJo is a trusted household name in South Africa, with over 40 years of proven performance. Its water tanks comply with the national standard SANS 1731:2017, and each tank comes with a 10-year warranty. With a comprehensive ecosystem of accessories, filters, and kits, JoJo equips retailers to provide complete, credible solutions — not just products.

A ROLE OF RESPONSIBILITY

South Africa’s water crisis is structural and will not disappear. Retailers have a vital role in helping households achieve water security. By partnering with JoJo, they can build community resilience — bringing peace of mind, ensuring continuity, and helping South Africans take control of one of life’s most essential resources.

With this scale and variety, Matus continues to be the one-stop distribution partner of choice for Southern Africa’s hardware and retail industry.

DIY and Industrial Trade News attended the Johannesburg and Durban shows, where the turnout was excellent and suppliers unanimously praised them as among the best trade shows of the year. The Durban event took place from the 2 to 4 October. The show followed a similar pattern to Johannesburg with a balloon-popping station, hourly prize draws, and interactive supplier games making the experience for visitors both productive and enjoyable. Despite the inclement weather, with Friday being wet and windy, the trade show was busy and included decision makers from Coastal Hardware, Fastener Factory, Mica and Build it. The Cape Town Event was held at the end of October and successfully closed out the Matus Trade Shows for the year.

With its mix of business focus, product education, and industry spirit, the Matus Trade Shows 2025 continue to set the benchmark for supplier–retailer engagement in South Africa.

Dulux South Africa sales director Frank Wagner then addressed the audience. He thanked Mica members for their continued support, noting the strong sales Dulux has achieved through the Mica stores this year. Wagner also expressed the company’s pride in being a sponsor of the Mica Market and invited everyone to enjoy the evening’s ‘Share a Laugh’ event.

The evening was filled with ‘barrels of belly laughs’ thanks to a stellar comedy lineup featuring MC Barry Hilton, Mark Lottering, Dalin Oliver, and Kurt Schoonraad.

DAY THREE: CONFERENCE AND EXCURSIONS

The official Mica Conference opened on Wednesday, 17 September, sponsored by Ingco Tools.

LRB managing director Jaco Hattingh welcomed everyone and explained that this year’s presentation would take a different approach. In line with the theme, ‘This is Us’, the team chose to be more inclusive by sharing a video that tells Mica’s story through the voices of the people who drive the business forward. The video, he noted, captures what makes Mica truly unique, its members, teams, customers, and the positive impact Mica stores have within their communities.

GUEST SPEAKER: BRENT LINDEQUE –THE GOOD THINGS GUY

“It is a celebration of who we are, what Mica stands for, and the future we are building together. This is Mica, and This is Us,” he said. The video focused on belonging, brand strength, customer empowerment, and loyalty. Feedback from members highlighted successful campaigns, the value of IQ Retail support, and the motivational impact of M Rewards.

SPONSOR ADDRESS – INGCO TOOLS

Angelo Angelos, MD of Ingco, shared his personal journey from electrical engineer to music entrepreneur to hardware leader, before explaining why Ingco represents more than just tools, it is about opportunity.

Brent Lindeque, journalist, influencer, and founder of the global Good Things Guy platform, delivered an unforgettable keynote. He shared his story of rejecting a viral drinking game challenge and instead buying food for a homeless person, a small act that became a global movement of Random Acts of Kindness (RAK). His video spread worldwide, proving the ripple effect of positivity.

Lindeque's key lessons included:

• “In times of tragedy, look for the helpers, because they will always be there.” (Fred Rogers’ mother told him nearly a century ago)

• Introduction of the Prestige Ricotta high-end range

• Adding ‘Powered by Ingco’ branding to the Decakila range to reinforce consumer trust.

His challenge to retailers was clear: “Step up, engage, and take these opportunities. Ingco is offering more than a pot of gold, we’re offering possibilities.”

• “If you cannot find a helper, it is your responsibility to become one.”

Now reaching more than 30 million people worldwide, his platform demonstrates how kindness can change narratives. He encouraged Mica members to embrace the RAK philosophy in their businesses and communities, proving that even small gestures can have a big impact.

Acknowledging and celebrating new members.

Master Lock is recognized around the world as the authentic, enduring name in padlocks and security products. Since our founding in 1921, we have worked hard to earn and maintain the trust of our customers by delivering on our promise of strength and quality and by continually setting new standards for lock design, application and performance. As the largest global manufacturer and marketer of padlocks, we continue to build our founder’s passion for innovation, quality and compelling value into our expanding lines of security solutions.

At Master Lock we believe the key to effective security is innovation. This is highlighted by our continual unveiling of fit for purpose product and the Excell range of products is a perfect example of this.

The Master lock Excell range of products is fast becoming a favourite in the security industry and incorporates the use of patented “Hexagonal” shackles which are made from Boron Carbide, making them twice as resistant to attacks from Bolt cutters and pry bars, tools commonly used in theft attempts. The latest addition to this High Security range of product is the Excell Discus Combination padlock, which offers a variation

of the standard design features of other Excell padlocks. The hexagonal Boron Carbide shackle is standard, but now you have the choice of the world’s first Combination Dial Discus Padlock. The code is resettable and there are 10,000 possible permutations. You don’t even have to worry about forgetting the code because these can be stored on Master Lock “Vault” for future reference.

Get your stocks today and don’t miss out on this unique profit opportunity. Contact your preferred Master Lock Wholesaler, today.
