From the editor We are one, but we are many. I think this line, from a popular Australian anthem, is particularly pertinent on our national day. With mixed Scottish, Irish, Welsh and Aboriginal heritage, I'm a firm believer that Australia Day can and should be an inclusive celebration for everybody to rejoice in the beautiful country we call home, though I know many people feel otherwise.

With every passing year, I'm becoming more painfully aware of how Australia Day divides rather than unites us. There are people who support the campaign to Change the Date to stand with Indigenous Australians, for whom the day can be a hurtful reminder of the past; and then there are others who believe changing the date would achieve nothing (though perhaps someone should remind some of the more patriotic of the latter camp their ancestors arrived in Australia by ship). Call me a fence sitter, but I'm somewhere in the middle. Perhaps it's the diversity of my own ancestry, which highlights just how complex our societal makeup is. Personally, I think we should get back to celebrating the freedoms our country affords us, its beautiful wide open landscapes and friendly folk. They don't call it the lucky country for nothing.

news School builds students’ skills Students often go through so much change when they take the leap into secondary education. But the region’s first autismspecific high school hopes its program will help adolescents develop the necessary skills to gain inclusion within the community. An estimated one in 70 Australians, or more than 300,000 people, have autism – a lifelong condition that affects, among other things, the way an individual relates to their environment and interacts with other people. Aspect Hunter School principal Lara Cheney says the focus, from four years of age, has been to transition children on the autism spectrum to mainstream schools. In a change of approach, the Thornton-based site is now set to open a new high school to its foundation students on 1 February.
“For some children, they maintain primary school placements and cope really well with one teacher, one classroom, and the same group of students,” Ms Cheney tells Newcastle Weekly. “The whole school knows them and understands and supports them. “But when they move into the high school years, learning becomes a lot more of a challenge and the social relationships become a lot more abstract. “They’re often moving from one classroom to another with up to seven teachers and each one has a different style. “Students with autism will often learn the rules and will apply those rules but, in a high school environment, there’s so much change.” Aside from delivering the NSW

curriculum, the school also aims to build a horticultural centre, including a vegetable garden, an industrial kitchen, a technology centre, and an outdoor gymnasium and café. Ms Cheney adds it will move
from 139 students to 164 across several sites. She says the high school plans to start with 13 pupils and then increase over the next two years until it reaches full capacity. Continued on page 10

news Campaign raises awareness over donations Cessnock council has launched an awareness campaign in a bid to reduce illegal dumping on charity operations. An estimated 10% of donations from the Cessnock community ends up for sale in op shops. While charities work hard to find alternatives, such as sending items overseas, many donations are often disposed of in landfill, with the cost falling on local charities. The Salvation Army in Cessnock regularly feeds 60 or more families who would otherwise go hungry. The funds for these services come from sales at the Vincent Street Op Shop. However, this charity is at risk. Illegal dumping and inappropriate donations limit the amount of welfare work that
the Salvation Army can fund and places a huge strain on the workers and volunteers. The Salvation Army’s local captain, Darryn Lloyd, hopes Cessnock council’s campaign will result in “more informed givers”. “If you wouldn’t give it to a friend, don’t give it to us,” he says. “[Many people] aren’t giving us what we can sell or use – they’re using the charity bins as dumping grounds. “It’s such a huge distraction for volunteers, and the money can be better spent on helping people in the local community. “We recently sent 26 children, who hadn’t been on a holiday before, off to a kids’ camp. “When we waste money on tip fees, it can be better spent on sending these kids off to camps or feeding the Cessnock community.
“It costs money to go to the tip – I understand that. “But we’re not the solution.” Cessnock mayor Bob Pynsent praised the community for its generosity, but called for an improvement in quality. “Local charities help our families in need and they don’t want to be dealing with rubbish,” he says. “They want quality donations so they can do what they do best – help our community”. Cr Pynsent also encouraged people to go into op shops and ask whether items are wanted. The council’s campaign will feature in print, on social media and on the side of one of its garbage trucks. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and the Roads and Maritime Service have been urged to “get on with” the construction of the Newcastle Inner City Bypass Stage 5. Ms Berejiklian stated last week construction could start on the Nelson Bay Road duplication this year. Wallsend state MP Sonia Hornery questioned why another vital piece of infrastructure had not begun, almost five years after it was announced. “The government announced Stage 5 of the bypass in 2014 with much fanfare,” Ms Hornery said. “The date for commencement of construction continues to blow out. “In 2014, construction was slated to start in 2017 – now we are being told it will be at least 2020. “If the premier can get the road in Nelson Bay started in 12 months, then she can get the bypass started as well.” Stage 5 of the bypass involves building a 3.4kilometre four-lane divided road from Rankin Park to Jesmond.
Fireworks postponed on New Year’s Eve in Maitland due to a thunderstorm have been rescheduled for the After Dark – Winter Solstice in June. The event, slated for Saturday 22 June from 5pm at The Levee Shared Zone and Riverside Walk, is set to feature open fires, fire performances, entertainment, activities and hearty food on the streets. The night will end with a bang as fireworks light up the sky at 9pm. “We are excited to announce this After Dark activity with the addition of the amazing PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley fireworks display that we didn’t manage to use on New Year’s Eve,” Maitland council’s place activation officer, David Graham, said. “Winter Solstice celebrates the shortest day of the year in the southern hemisphere and I really encourage everyone to head to The Levee.” Newcastle’s New Year’s Eve fireworks have also been rescheduled for this Saturday’s Australia Day celebrations. They will be let off from Stockton at about 8.30pm.
Newcastle federal MP Sharon Claydon says the sacking of nearly 80 Australian seafarers is a “tragic day for the once-proud Australian shipping industry”. BHP and Bluescope Steel have axed a 17-yearold arrangement, wherein Australian crews aboard the MV Mariloula and the MV Lowlands Brilliance move iron ore from Port Hedland to Port Kembla, pick up coal that is exported to China, and then return to Western Australia to start the route again. “I am especially concerned for the Novocastrians on board these ships – it’s their families and local communities that will wear the brunt of this despicable corporate greed,” Ms Claydon says. “It’s a travesty to see these two Australian companies turning their backs on Australian workers and our proud seafaring legacy. “I hold grave fears these workers will be replaced with foreign crews, with workers being paid as little as $2 an hour.” Ms Claydon wants to see BHP and Bluescope sit down with the unions and find a solution.

Mr Grugeon sought out local tradespeople and asked them to donate their time to the project, with painters, electricians and plumbers among those who answered the call. They have since worked around the clock, often in stifling heat, to finish it before Term 1 starts next week. Mr Grugeon believes the community’s ongoing support is remarkable. “Aspect is not paying one cent – it’s all donated," he says. “Seven years ago, when we built that [primary school], we then talked about: ‘Do we need high school facilities?’" “The consensus was ‘No, we really want to get them into mainstream school special classes. “But, there are just some kids who can’t make that transition and, without this facility, may end up not going to school.” - Ben Murphy

Swim centre’s milestone Toronto Swim Centre’s $6.5 million refurbishment has reached a new milestone. The first stage of testing began last week on the centre’s three pools. Existing tiling has been stripped from all three pools and construction of new entry steps into the main, 25-metre pool is now complete. Before the refurbishment, the pool only had ladders and temporary drop-in steps. The centre’s hydrotherapy and spa pools have also been demolished and replaced with a single, combined pool. Work is now under way on a new training room at the back of the centre, and a new foyer and kiosk area. The project is on track for a spring reopening.

news Refugee determined to thrive after hardship Warda Ali hopes to be a role model for refugees in regional communities. Already a first-year university health science student, Warda’s studies were put on hold when she fled war-torn Iraq. In late 2014, after ISIS began the genocide of women and children in their hometown of Sinjar in the Yazidi region of Northern Iraq, Warda and her family escaped to safety in Dohuk – almost a threehour drive away. Over the next two years, they shared a home with five other families and tried to make the best of the situation. Warda eventually settled in Coffs Harbour after being granted a humanitarian visa. However, she found that her past studies were not recognised in Australia.
In a determined bid to recover lost ground, she decided to enrol in the Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation, a one-year HSC equivalent qualification, offered by TAFE NSW, that provides students with a tertiary entrance score. After completing her studies, Warda was accepted into three universities and received two scholarships. She opted to move to Newcastle to study a Bachelor of Pharmacy. “I love health sciences and want to be a pharmacist so I can help others,” she says. “A university told me what subjects I needed to do to get into [the degree] and I followed their instructions. “I am so lucky to have a chance to study in a country like Australia, so why not study hard and do my best?”
Warda also understood the need to improve her English, so she completed a Certificate II and Certificate III in Written and Spoken English at TAFE NSW. This helped her secure employment as an interpreter for the local hospital network. Warda’s success can be put down to her determination to thrive. “Maybe one day I will be able to help others like me who have suffered war and displacement,” she says. “I also hope to be a role model to refugees in regional communities… I hope I motivate them to study hard, achieve their goals, and be valuable to the community.” Semester one will start on 4 February for TAFE NSW, while the University of Newcastle welcomes students back on 25 February.

The Central Coast, Hunter and Newcastle regions have been flagged for their growing infrastructure backlog. The NRMA’s annual Funding Local Roads report has identified a $2.2 billion backlog across NSW, with much of the burden – $1.7 billion – falling to regional councils. The report states about 80% of the 184,859-kilometre road network across NSW is managed by local councils. According to the report, local councils in the Hunter/Newcastle regions have collectively seen a backlog increase of almost $13 million since the last financial year. The biggest backlogs are found at the Central Coast ($84 million),
Maitland ($64 million) and Lake Macquarie ($45 million). The report coincides with the launch of the NRMA’s Rate Your Road. A first of its kind, the easy-touse survey allows the public to take part in the NSW state election process by speaking out on local roads and public transport – both good and bad. The results will be collated over the coming weeks and released prior to the election on 23 March. The NRMA will also use the data as a resource when lobbying the state and federal governments for road and public transport funding priorities. The survey is available via rateyourroad.com.au or through the myNRMA App for members.
Proposal to support growth A proposed financial contribution from developers aims to help fund almost $470 million in infrastructure projects over the next 20 years to support a growing population. The draft Hunter Region Special Infrastructure Contribution (SIC) determination is on public exhibition until 25 February. It will be paid by developers and replace the need to negotiate individual voluntary planning agreements, a process wherein a developer or builder agrees to either provide or fund public infrastructure. The state government claims the Hunter Region SIC will deliver several benefits for the community, as well as landowners, developers and councils. Some of these include speeding up the process of state developer contributions across 10 LGAs;
supporting the timely delivery of infrastructure in line with community expectations and rate of growth; and helping the development industry to contribute funding towards infrastructure that supports the development of new communities. Regional roads, schools, health facilities, and emergency services are among the projects tipped to benefit from the proposal. However, the Housing Industry Association (HIA)’s executive director for the Hunter, Craig Jennion, believes the government’s intent to charge developers with additional costs is “certain to further reduce housing affordability for local families”, as any levies paid by developers will inflate the price of a new home. “HIA accepts the proposition that developers should be delivering local

infrastructure and items which are essential to a new subdivision, such as local roads, open space, drainage and utilities,” Mr Jennion says. “But what has been proposed is a new charge that relates to much broader community infrastructure from which everyone uses and benefits – including health and emergency services infrastructure such as ambulance and fire stations,
hospitals, sporting facilities, and state roads. “These are important assets that will be owned and utilised by the whole community and, accordingly, it should be the broader community that meets the cost, rather than the individual home buyer.” Visit planning.nsw.gov.au to view the proposal. - Ben Murphy

Celebrity chef’s accolade Former MasterChef Australia contestant Kumar Pereira became a fan favourite on the back of his ability to withstand the relentless pressure. This Australia Day, he will tackle a challenge of a different kind after being named as Maitland’s ambassador.
It is the latest accolade for the man who earned the nickname ‘Kumarnator’ when he stared down, and beat, elimination several times during series three of the reality television show. “I’m really honoured, it’s a lovely thing to do and I can’t wait,” he says of his upcoming
ambassador role. When he was a child, Mr Pereira used to follow his mother around the kitchen while she cooked meals. It was the start of his love affair with food. After moving to London from Sri Lanka as a teenager, he then landed in Hong Kong and, finally, Sydney. “I went off to England as a student and learnt to cook for myself, and I was then surrounded by great food in Hong Kong, where I lived for 18 years,” he says. “I like all types of food, not just Sri Lankan food – that’s obviously a big part of it, but I tend to cook everything.” A graphic designer, design teacher, food writer and tour guide, Mr Pereira has also spent the past few years as a volunteer, serving up cost-effective, healthy meal options once a month to
socially-marginalised disabled and elderly people in Sydney. “We teach them how to cook a meal in 20 minutes and for under $10,” he says. “Most of them are living on their own, often in situations where their partner may have passed away, and they don’t know how to look after themselves. “I really like to help them and teach them the joys of cooking – I just enjoy what I’m doing, I’m very fortunate.” Apart from Mr Pereira’s appearance, a range of activities have been planned for Maitland’s Australia Day celebrations this Saturday. A free barbecue breakfast, provided by the Lions Club of East Maitland, will kick-start the festivities, while a classic car display, musical performances, and free pool entry are also part of the program. - Ben Murphy

sport On track for records Some of Australia’s best athletes are ready to chase down national records at this year’s Hunter Track Classic. Middle distance runner Joseph Deng, who broke a near 50-year-old record in the men’s 800m during the Monaco Diamond League meet last July, will be the red-hot favourite to pip Lachlan Renshaw’s Australianbest in the men’s 600m, set back in 2010. Deng’s main competition lies in training partner Peter Bol, whom he just beat in the Australian 800m, and 2013 Australian 400m champion, Alex Beck. This year’s event will see a $5,000 cash prize handed out to any athlete who can break an Australian best/ record. The 10th anniversary of the Hunter Track Classic takes place at the Hunter Sports Centre, Glendale,
on Friday 25 January from 6pm. Athletics NSW president Peter Higgins says it’s one of the organisation’s premier events each year. “It is a unique event because we are bringing a combination of glitz, glamour and high-performance athletes, combined with community athletes of all ages,” he says. “And, as a bonus, this year it will be combined with the NSW Country Championships.” Apart from Deng and Bol, the Hunter Track Classic has also attracted the likes of Commonwealth Games 800m bronze medallist, Luke Mathews. He will be challenged in the 1500m by event regular and 2017 runner-up, Jordan Gusman. Local interest will centre on Lake Macquarie junior Luke Young, who competed at the Youth Olympic

Price shows grit to win second Dakar It’s billed as the ultimate test of man and machine. Australian Toby Price likely won’t argue with that assessment after he fought through a broken bone in his wrist and battled some of Peru’s most unforgiving terrain to claim his second Dakar Rally crown. The former Singleton sports star fractured his scaphoid bone weeks before the 41st edition but showed remarkable grit and consistency to stick
with the leaders in the early stages. Price, who won his first Dakar title in 2016, eventually took the overall lead with two days left as the previous leader, American Ricky Brabec, went out of contention in stage eight with an engine failure. He then finished runner-up in stage nine – a 313-kilometre Pisco loop – one second behind Chilean Pablo Quintanilla and with the exact same

time as KTM teammate Matthias Walkner. The trio led the rest of the pack by more than half an hour going into the final stage – a short 112-km timed special. The reverse grid meant Price was the last rider to begin the stage. However, he pushed hard to claim his only stage of the rally and win his second title, finishing more than nine minutes ahead of Walkner, while Great Britain’s Sam Sunderland placed third. “It feels amazing to stand here knowing I have won the Dakar, I don’t think it has really sunk in yet,” Price said after the race. “It was so tight going into the [final stage], both Pablo and I knew we would have to push right from the start. “Unfortunately for him, he went too hard off a dune, but he really deserves a win too – everyone that starts this race deserves a win. “The plan now is to go home and relax for a little while; I know I need to have my wrist seen to, so I’ll get that sorted and then it won’t be long before we start it all over again.” This year’s Dakar Rally was the first time it took place in one country. Competitors faced more than 5,000 kilometres of the traditional elements – gravel, sand dunes and desert – over the 10 stages.

Historic environmental film screenings The Maitland & District Historical Society’s guest speaker evening on Tuesday 5 February will feature a screening of two historic Hunter Valley environmental films, Dark Rain and The Sands of Yellow Rock. These were documentary films produced by the Hunter Valley Research Foundation in the late 1950s. Both films, which run for about 20 minutes each, represent early Australian attempts to use film as a medium to communicate the work of scientists to the wider community. They will be presented by Dr Wej Paradice AM, a long-standing former director of the research foundation. Members of the public are welcome to attend at 3 Cathedral Street, Maitland, from 5.30pm. The society asks for a $5 donation to cover the cost of light refreshments.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ National Health Survey, only 6% of Australian kids aged 2-17 meet the guidelines for their recommended serves of both fruit and vegetables. Woolworths ambassador, Kelly Burstow, from Be A Fun Mum, shares five tips for making simple, balanced and delicious lunch boxes that will come home empty.

Use good lunch box products
Having good products is key for making lunches easy and balanced. I like the Woolworths Kids Banana Flavoured Milk because it has a health star rating of 4.5/5 and 25% less sugar than other flavoured milks. The Woolworths Vanilla Yoghurt Pouches are also super convenient to stock up on. I like to look for lunch boxes with sections, and ones that have an insulated cover and an ice brick handy for the summer months so I can pop in chilled items, like the above.

Use the freezer
I freeze bakery items (for example, premade muffins, bread and homemade goodies) so we always have options ready to go. You can put the items straight in the lunch box frozen, and they are thawed by eating time.

Break it down
Instead of thinking morning tea/lunch food, I break the lunch box down into food types to ensure a good balance. A nutritious lunch box includes each of the five food groups – vegetables, fruit, dairy (or alternatives), grains and protein. Balance is important in a lunch box and, as a general guide, Woolworths nutritionists say that a packed lunch should include: • Vegetables such as carrot sticks • 1 piece of fruit • Dairy (or alternatives) such as milk, yoghurt or cheese (mostly reduced fat) • Protein such as lean meats, fish, eggs or legumes/beans
• 1-2 serves of grain foods such as a sandwich, wrap, pasta, rice, sushi (try to include whole grains where possible) • Water This system allows for seasonal variations and helps me to shop smart.

Work out your lunch box staples
Over the years, I have made a list of tried and true lunch box foods that I know my children will eat. While variety is important, it’s a good idea to have lunch box staples to fall back on, especially during those busy weeks. Below are some of my staples: • Vegetables: corn on the cob, Solanato tomatoes, cucumber, snow peas, carrot, celery sticks, baby corn, tin corn, avocado, cherry tomatoes and beans; • Fruit: kids love mini versions of their favourite fruits and the Woolworths Fresh Food Kids range of Mini Fruit are available in pears, apples and bananas. I also love including tinned fruit, stone fruit, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, kiwi fruit, watermelon pieces and pineapple pieces; • Snacks: muffins, nut-free energy balls, rice crackers and popcorn; • Protein: ham, salami, salami sticks, bean dip, cheese, boiled egg, hummus and yoghurt; • Lunch: sandwiches, pizza scrolls, flat bread, premade salad and wraps.

Involve kids in the process
I often say to my kids, “How was lunch today?” I like getting feedback on what they like and don’t, what works and what doesn’t. Including kids in the process is a good way for them to be engaged with food.
Prep: 30 mins Cook: 35 mins Ingredients 2 & 2/3 cups self-raising flour 1 tsp ground cinnamon ¾ cup brown sugar 3 large ripe Cavendish bananas, coarsely mashed 125g butter, melted 3 eggs, lightly beaten ¾ cup milk 4 cups desiccated coconut For the chocolate Icing 6 cups icing sugar mixture 1 cup cocoa powder 1½ cups boiling water Method Preheat oven 180°C fan forced. Grease and line a 4cm deep; 18 x 29.5cm (base) slab pan. Sift flour and cinnamon together into a large bowl. Stir in sugar. Combine banana, butter, eggs and milk in a jug, then pour into flour mixture. Stir gently until just combined. Spoon into pan, smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until cooked and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Lift onto a wire rack to cool completely. Trim the edges then cut into 24 x 4cm squares. For the chocolate icing, sift the icing sugar and cocoa powder into a medium bowl. Add the water and stir until smooth. Dip one piece of banana bread at a time into the warm icing to coat. Allow excess to drip back into the bowl. Roll in the coconut. Place onto a tray to set. Repeat with the remaining banana bread, icing and coconut.

A sight to sea Sometimes you need a change in perspective. For instance, seeing the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie coastline from the water, when you’re used to seeing it on dry land, will give you a whole new appreciation of the place we call home. eanette John studied for years, travelled to Reggio Emilia in Italy on an early childhood education study tour and made a personal commitment to work for a non-profit organisation. It’s all come together for the centre manager at Gowrie NSW’s Mayfield Early Education and Care Centre. “My passion is learning about children,” Ms John says. “I’ve gone from Associate Diploma to Degree to Masters, and I’ve had the opportunity to visit Reggio Emilia in Italy, which is an inspirational approach to early childhood. “So, I think that’s something that drives me to want to learn
more about best practice for early childhood education. “Rather than just focusing on the fact that we’re here for working parents, I want it to be an environment where children can reach their potential and become citizens in their own right.” For more than 75 years, Gowrie NSW has greatly contributed to the richness of early and middle childhood across the state. During that time, the not-for-profit organisation has been at the forefront of providing support for children, families and communities through values of diversity and inclusion. Weekend DIY project: kids’ outdoor retreat Cubby house 1. Let’s breathe new life into that old cubby house! Gather your supplies: Dulux Weathershield in your chosen colours(s), drop sheet, high quality synthetic brush for cutting in, medium nap (1018mm) roller, roller tray, 400 grit sandpaper, painter’s tape, and old cloths. 2. Ensure the surface has been properly prepared prior to starting to paint. Follow the label on the can for more information. 3. Start painting by cutting in around the edges and hard-to-reach areas using Dulux Weathershield. 4. For best results, begin at the top and work your way down. Paint the underside of your boards, then the face. Use long strokes in horizontal motions from one side to the other. Tip: never stop halfway along the board and return to it later or you’ll create an overlapping of paint, which is difficult to correct. Allow to dry for 2 hours. 5. Give the surface a light sand with 400 grit sandpaper and repeat step 4 for a second coat. If painting bare timber, a third coat will need to be applied. 30

Tropic wonder Could we call this month tropical or just plain hot? I haven’t felt this summer has been as humid as usual. I have noticed plants in my garden burning, despite being watered. I think it is so hot and lacking in moisture that it’s making broad-leaved plants susceptible. Although it isn’t wise to plant during the heat of January, it is an interesting time to plan a tropical garden as there are many plants available to create this effect. A frangipani can be used as a centrepiece, underplanted with colourful gingers and cordylines. Adding many varying crotons will inject brightness, then border the bed with Alternanthera “Little Ruby”, which will unify the variety of plants and colours. Once shade has been created by the frangipani, orange and yellow clivias will produce a great display in spring. If your garden is large, there is plenty of scope to plant umbrella trees, elephant’s ears and strelitzia. Again, once shade is developed, tree ferns and even peace lillies will be happy. A tropical garden wouldn’t be complete without a Bougainvillea, but remember, space is needed, and take care when planting as they often don’t have well-developed root systems. Make sure the soil adheres to the root ball as you take it out of the pot. It wouldn’t be a tropical garden without hibiscus, which are extremely easy to grow in fertilised soil.
THIS WEEK • Watch for leaf curl on citrus trees – it attacks new growth and is now hard to control as many of the products used are no longer available. An Ecofend spray and a light prune will help. • Tomatoes and stone fruit attacked by fruit fly should be cleaned up, bagged and binned. • Prune back long shoots on Golden Durantas on a cooler day. • Give roses a handful of Sudden Impact to boost flowering.

The Salamander Bay resident started her community work in outback Broken Hill at the tender age of five as she fundraised for disability services alongside family members. Three decades later, Kathy is still serving her local community in a voluntary capacity as president of Nelson Bay Rotary Club for the second consecutive year. This early experience in volunteering has led Kathy to a very successful business career and community engagement. She started working at the Broken Hill Community Credit Union at 15, then forged a career at the Greater, rising to manager at Nelson Bay before chronic illness forced her to make a transformational change to work and home life balance, while continuing with her community service. 54
FAMILY With a husband in the air force, we truly value quality time together as a family. We support junior golf in the area, with our son a junior Newcastle district representative, while our daughter loves gymnastics. My husband and kids assist at Rotary fundraising and events.
MENTORING I am a strong believer in encouraging business and community volunteers to reach their full potential through positive reinforcement and guidance. My philosophy is a holistic approach, which is echoed by a Rotary philosophy. This can be easily overlaid in business.
