WELCOMETOMAY!

Hello, May! We’re excited to step into this vibrant month full of growth, celebration, and new beginnings! Whether you're enjoying the blooming flowers (orange blossoms) or the warmer days ahead, May has so much to offer.

First up Mother's Day is just around the corner! It’s the perfect time to show appreciation for all the amazing moms out there. Whether it's a thoughtful card, a special gesture, or simply spending time together, let’s make it a day to remember.

May also marks Mental Health Awareness Month, reminding us to take care of our minds as much as we do our bodies. Let’s continue to support one another and shine a light on mental well-being with compassion and understanding.

With all the exciting events, from outdoor activities to springtime adventures, May is sure to be filled with moments to enjoy and celebrate. Let’s make the most of it! Here’s to a joyful and uplifting May!

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

This year, the focus is on breaking the stigma, raising awareness, and fostering a compassionate and caring environment where everyone feels seen and supported.

Mental health affects us all whether directly or through someone we care about. It’s just as important as physical health, yet it often goes overlooked. This month, let’s come together to highlight how essential it is to prioritize mental wellness, whether it’s through therapy, selfcare, or simply reaching out to someone who may be struggling.

One of the key themes this year is empathy. By cultivating empathy, we can make a real difference in the lives of those around us. Taking the time to listen, understand, and support each other can help create spaces where people feel safe to share their struggles and victories alike. When we approach others with kindness and patience, we break down barriers and build stronger, more resilient communities.

Let’s continue to have open conversations, share resources, and make mental health a priority not just this month, but every day. By showing empathy and compassion, we can all play a part in creating a world where mental well-being is valued and supported.

CELEBRATING OUR NURSING TEAM

This National Nurses Week, we extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible nursing staff. Your dedication, compassion, and clinical excellence are at the heart of everything we do at NeuLife.

Day in and day out, you provide not only expert care but also encouragement, comfort, and support to those on their healing journey. You advocate, you uplift, and you never stop showing up—no matter the challenge.

Thank you for being the steady hands and open hearts our persons served rely on. Your impact is felt in every hallway, every room, and every recovery story. We are proud to have you as part of the NeuLife family.

Thank you for all you do—this week and always!

SPEECH-LANGUAGEHEARING MONTH

This May, we recognize the vital work of our SpeechLanguage Pathologists and the powerful role communication plays in rehabilitation. At NeuLife, our SLPs help residents rebuild essential skills supporting not just speech, but confidence, connection, and quality of life. Whether it’s regaining the ability to swallow safely or finding their voice again, our speech therapy team helps create life-changing breakthroughs every day.

Let’s take a moment to thank our SLPs for the compassion and expertise they bring to the team and the lives they transform with every session.

REFLECTING ON THE 5 C’S

May is Mental Health Awareness Month—a great reminder that taking care of our mental well-being is just as important as physical health. At NeuLife, the work we do is rooted in empathy, understanding, and a deep commitment to each individual’s care and comfort. This month, we're focusing on the 5 C’s of Mental Health guiding principles that help us support one another and the individuals we serve every day.

Care Connection

Meaningful relationships build a sense of belonging and trust— something we strive to create with every person we serve.

Community

We are stronger together. A supportive environment fosters healing, hope, and a shared sense of purpose.

Compassion

Kindness, empathy, and understanding shape the way we care, especially during life’s most challenging moments.

Coping

Supporting healthy ways to manage stress empowers both our staff and persons served to navigate challenges with strength and resilience.

Providing, personcentered care is at the heart of everything we do because everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported.

Let’s continue showing up for each other and for those we serve with heart, purpose, and positivity. Together, we make NeuLife a place where healing happens on every level.

COMPLIANCE CORNER

The theme of NeuLife Rehabilitation’s Code of Conduct is “Do the Right Thing.” You “have a duty to speak up if you believe an action does not emulate our ethical beliefs or legal requirements.” In other words, “if you see or hear something, say something.” This includes reporting if a person served expresses a concern to you. A person served does not have the same “duty to report,” but if they report a concern to you, YOU have a duty to report that concern so that we can address it.

Always remember that retaliation or reprisal for good faith reporting is against our policy and against the law. Good faith means that you believe or perceive that the information you are reporting is true.
