Fever fell to just their second defeat of the season against the Vixens losing by just one goal in the dying seconds of the game due to a Kiera Austin Super Shot.

Vixens got off to a strong start, holding a fivegoal lead for much of the first quarter before a pair of Super Shots from Sasha Glasgow whittled the deficit down to two goals at quarter time.

The rest of the game was a tight affair with the lead rarely passing two points. The final quarter saw three Super Shots between Glasgow and Fowler but they were not enough to get Fever over the line.

Swifts took home their fourth win in a row as they beat the Sunshine Coast Lightning 67-63 in Sydney.

Despite a strong start for the Lightning the Swifts were able to reign them back in thanks to a strong second and third quarter giving them a four-goal advantage to defend.

A back and forth final term saw the Swifts hold on with English import Helen Housby scoring an impressive seven Super Shots throughout the game.

Fever will need to win the mid-court battle and stop Swifts Centre Maddy Proud, who is coming off the back of a stellar performance last week featuring 44 Feeds, 26 Goal Assists and five Pickups.

We could be in for an eye catching shoot out with Glasgow and Housby both being reliable Super Shot shooters. Will Sunday Aryang and Courtney Bruce be able prevent the Swifts star from making an impact from the two-point zone?

Facts and Stats

Fowler is currently cruising at the summit of most goals in the competition, scoring 446 goals at an unbelievable 98 per cent accuracy.

Not only has her accuracy been key to her success but feeding by the midcourt and especially Alice Teague-Neeld has allowed the Jamaican Goal Shooter to have the most shots in the competition.

Fowler is going at 55.7 goals per game this year, only one away from the pace set in her record breaking 2020 season where she scored 808 goals.

She is also closing in on 5,000 career Goals, needing a further 184 to reach the milestone.
