FROM THE COACH
It’s so good to finally be back home at RAC Arena playing in front of the Green Army after a gruelling travel schedule over the past five weeks.
We have certainly clocked up our fair share of frequent flyer points with our trips to Sydney, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Melbourne. But we have embraced the challenge and now find ourselves in a good place, second place on the ladder, as we move into the second half of the season.

Last weekend’s one goal loss to the Melbourne Vixens was a heartstopper and a heartbreaker, but a really valuable experience for the team in the context of our season. The Vixens really brought their best and challenged us in many areas of our game. This is such a tough competition, and any team can win on their day. Every game is crucial, especially now.
And tonight, we know we need to step up our game if we want to get back on the winners list. It’s a huge showdown against the NSW Swifts as second plays third on the ladder. When we met earlier in the season, we took an 11-goal win, but expect a goal-for-goal grind in this one. Both teams are very evenly matched so expect this match to be played with the passion and intensity of a final.
So, I’d like to welcome the NSW Swifts to Perth, led by Head Coach, Briony Akle and Co-Captains Maddy Proud and Paige Hadley. We look forward to a physical and skilful battle today between two great teams.
Also, a special shout out to all the mothers out there to wish you all a very happy Mother’s Day for tomorrow. Netball mums are the best type of Mum’s!

So GREEN ARMY, let’s do this! We need you in full voice tonight, so get behind us, believe in us and let’s turn RAC Arena into our Fortress!
Go Fever!
