MESSAGE FROM THE MANAGING DIRECTOR
This season will be one to remember, after being in lockdown for a couple of months due to COVID-19, then returning to training, to now having a season locked in and due to start August 1. Not only are we welcoming the start of the season, but also the appointment of Gold Industry Group as Fever’s Principal Partner. We are excited to start playing, with Fever due to leave for NSW later this week before heading to the Queensland hub a week later where they will remain for the opening six rounds. There is no doubt this will be a challenge for our club, but the players are ready to hit the court as they attempt to claim their maiden title. Following Fever’s time in Queensland we expect to host multiple home games at RAC Arena in front of our loyal fans and sponsors. It has been 11 months since Fever last played in the Suncorp Super Netball League, two weeks ago Fever played a pre-season game against the All-Stars, providing coach Stacey Marinkovich with the opportunity to test her players and try new tactics before the season begins. You, as Flight Centre Circle members are our partners and corporate supporters. It is your continued support and contribution that keeps our club alive and allows us to continue to serve the WA community and to see us live by our purpose to inspire and make you proud. Your passion and unwavering support have enabled us to take on this challenging year and grab the opportunities as they arise. MESSAGE FROM THE COACH
The time has come for our club to play our first game of the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season. There was a time where we did not know if there was going to be a season and for that we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to play. Since COVID we have had eight weeks to train together to refine our game plan and build our cohesion. We are ready to embrace the season and look forward to playing our brand of netball as we strive for success. Every season brings with it’s own set of challenges and this year is proving no different. Throughout this time, we have remained focused on the things we can control and maximised those opportunities. We now know that the fixtures for the first six rounds will include stints in Sydney, then Queensland. The season has been condensed so there will be short turnarounds between games. I am confident in the depth of our squad and believe our training environment has prepared us mentally and physically for what lies ahead. We could not be where we are and functioning as a club without your support throughout this unique time. Thank you to all!
