A Net Nine Nine Production

SIYABONGA ZONDI’S COURAGEOUS JOURNEY
THE STORY OF PRINCE MUENDANE MAMOKWENA SWIMS HER WAY TO SUCCESS!

WE’RE BUILDING A LEGACY ONE CABLE AT A TIME!

As Human Rights Month comes to a close, it is important to reflect not only on where we come from as a country, but also where we are headed as a business.

At Net Nine Nine, our ambition to reach 2.5 million installations is more than just a number - it is a bold commitment to growth, impact, and transformation.

To achieve this milestone, we must shift gears and adopt a more aggressive sales approach across all regions.

The market is competitive, fast-moving, and full of opportunity, waiting is no longer an option.

We must actively pursue every lead, strengthen our partnerships, and ensure that our presence is felt in every community we serve, from Kagiso to Thohoyandou.

Aggressive sales is not about pressure, it is about purpose, discipline, and consistency. It is about showing up, following through, and delivering value that speaks for itself.

However, growth without transformation is incomplete, and as a proudly South African company, our journey must align with the principles of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE).

This is not just a compliance requirement but a responsibility and commitment.

We must continue to open doors for more black-owned businesses, empower local entrepreneurs, and ensure that our value chain reflects the diversity of our country.

Women empowerment and gender equality must also remain at the centre of our strategy.

From our sales teams (mainly dominated by women) to our technical workforce, we ensure to actively create opportunities to lead, grow, and thrive.

A truly aggressive growth strategy is one that is inclusive, one that recognises talent beyond gender, and actively works to break barriers.

Human Rights Month reminds us that dignity, fairness, and opportunity are not privileges but rights.

At Net Nine Nine, we have a duty to protect and empower our employees across the country. From our technicians working on the ground to teams driving operations behind the scenes. When we invest in our people, we strengthen our business.

The road to 2.5 million installations will not be easy, but it is achievable because we share the same vision together as colleagues and knuckle down to action.

With a sharper sales focus, a commitment to transformation, and a people-first approach, Net Nine Nine is not just growing but shining the light.

UBER DRIVER TURNED REGIONAL LEADERSHIP!

From humble beginnings to leading operations across the Free State, Tshepo Maphosho’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, purpose-driven leadership, and an unwavering commitment to serving people.

Today, as a Regional Manager in the Free State, Maphosho oversees teams, drives performance, and plays a key role in expanding business operations.

However, his rise to leadership was anything but conventional. From an Uber driver to a full-on Regional Manager.

After ferrying one special client who ended up being his boss, Maphosho began his telecommunications career as one of only three sales agents in a modest setup that lacked even the most basic infrastructure, no call centre, no large support system, but just a small team navigating the demands of the field.

“I never started with the mindset of becoming a manager. I was just an agent, like everyone else trying to make things work. But I’ve always been driven by people,” reflected Maphosho who is proud of his influence.

That “people-first” mindset would soon define his career spanning many years, from a political activist to sales lead.

Even in his early days, Maphosho naturally stepped into a leadership role, not because he was instructed to, but because he cared.

He understood that behind every sales target was a human being with personal challenges, ambitions, and untapped potential.

Maphosho began mentoring his fellow agents, sharing motivational material, conducting one-onone check-ins, and creating a culture of support within the team.

“I believe in a win-as-a-team approach. Leadership is about making sure everyone has an opportunity to grow,” says Maphosho who believes success was never an individual pursuit but a collective effort.

This philosophy helped build a strong and resilient team that could withstand the pressures of the sales environment, but more importantly, it created a sense of belonging.

As his influence grew louder and louder, so did his role in the lives of his team members.

He became more than just a colleague or supervisor, but a pillar of support, not only with his team in the Free State, but the entire organisation.

“I make sure that before anyone goes out into the field, they are okay as a person because before you are a sales agent, you are human,” he explains.

He became more than just a manager in the eyes of his team; he became a brother and father while filling an emotional void.

“They call me their ‘root’, someone they can come back to,” he says.

It’s this deep level of trust and connection that has kept his teams motivated, even in the face of numerous challenges.

THE INSPIRING JOURNEY OF TSHEPO MAPHOSHO

Unlike traditional leadership roles confined to office hours, Maphosho’s commitment extends far beyond the clock: “My job is not 8-5pm. It’s 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. When your people need you, you show up.”

As Regional Manager, Maphosho has implemented strategies that go beyond conventional business practices. One of his most impactful approaches has been hiring locally.

By recruiting people from within the communities they serve, Maphosho has strengthened relationships and built trust at grassroots level.

“When you work with people from the same community, it becomes easier to connect. Customers see familiar faces and that builds trust,” said Maphosho who is grounded in his faith.

He works closely with local stakeholders, including community leaders and councillors, to ensure that the company’s presence is both meaningful and sustainable.

This approach has not only improved business outcomes, but has also created employment opportunities, and strengthened community ties.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Maposho is deeply passionate about giving back to fellow employees and community at large, particularly in the area of education.

One of the initiatives closest to his heart involves working with schools to provide access to free internet. However, for Tshepo, connectivity alone is not enough.

4

“We don’t just connect schools, we go there, we engage with learners, and we teach them how to use the internet in a positive way,” he asserted.

He regularly visits schools, speaking to learners about the importance of using digital tools for education, self-development, and building their skills.

“Internet can either build you or destroy you. So, it’s important to guide young people on how to use it wisely,” he said.

Through these efforts, Maphosho is helping bridge the digital divide while empowering the next generation with knowledge and opportunity.

12 WOMEN – ONE NATION, ONE PURPOSE!

CAPE2CARE

TEAM COMPLETES HISTORIC RUN FROM MUSINA TO CAPE AGULHAS!

In an extraordinary display of endurance, unity, and purpose, 12 South African women have etched their names into history books after completing the gruelling Cape2Care ultramarathon - a 2 175km relay run from Musina to Cape Agulhas in just 11 days.

Arriving at the southernmost tip of Africa just before 23:00 on Saturday, 7 March 2026, the all-women team crossed the finish line with emotion, relief, and pride.

Their remarkable journey, which began on 25 February at Beitbridge near Musina, is now being processed for official world record recognition.

More than just a physical feat, the Cape2Care initiative was driven by a powerful mission - to raise funds and awareness for Dynamic Women for Children, an organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable children across South Africa.

According to Michelle van Biljon , this is about so much more than running, but every kilometre covered was for the children - for their future, their hope, and their opportunities.

The team, divided into two group of six – Sunset and Sunrise - ran day and night in a carefully coordinated relay format, covering the vast and often unforgiving South African landscape, passing though Tradouw Pass to Swellendam.

Battling intense heat, sudden downpours, lightning, steep mountain passes, and long stretches of open road, the runners pushed through physical and mental limits to keep their mission alive.

Their symbolic lantern - carried across 22 shifts from sunrise to sunset - became a powerful emblem of hope.

From the northernmost reaches of the country to its southern edge, the flame represented perseverance, unity, and an unwavering commitment to change lives.

“From sunrise to sunset, that light guided us,” the team shared.

“It reminded us why we started and who we were running for.”

The Sunset Team, running from midday to midnight, endured the harshest heat but were rewarded with some of the country’s most breathtaking views - golden horizons that offered moments of reflection amid exhaustion.

Support from sponsors and communities along the route proved vital.

Net Nine Nine (Net99), proud sponsor of Cape2Care and all apparel worn throughout the journey, played a key role in enabling the initiative, while partners such as Gys Pitzer Motoring provided essential logistical support, offering the team a mobile base for rest and recovery.

Hospitality from local establishments also kept the runners going.

Emthanjeni Lodge in De Aar and Taaiboschfontein in Three Sisters opened their doors to the team, providing muchneeded rest, warm meals, and encouragement during some of the most demanding stages of the journey.

It’s the kindness of people along the way that carried them just as much as their training did.

The team’s official arrival celebration took place on Sunday, 8 March, marking not just the end of a race, but the culmination of a shared vision, one rooted in compassion, resilience, and collective action.

Through every blister, every kilometre, and every moment of doubt, the Cape2Care runners proved that when individuals unite behind a meaningful cause, extraordinary things can happen.

Their message now echoes far beyond the finish line: a call for continued support for vulnerable children, and a reminder that real change begins with action.

As the dust settles on this historic run, one thing is certain - the legacy of Cape2Care 2026 is not just in the distance covered, but in the lives it aims to uplift.

People can still make donations to the Cape2Care effort. Contact Dynamic Women for Children at dwfc.org.za

WESTONARIA’S GOLDEN DIAMOND

SIYABONGA ZONDI’S COURAGEOUS JOURNEY

Entering through Net Nine Nine’s store at the Elizabeth Centre in Westonaria, clients are met with the welcoming presence of Siyabonga Zondi with his right arm stretched to shake hands - a clear sign of welcoming people with open arms.

Every day, our store buzzes with activity, from visitors learning about fibre internet, to customers paying for their services and getting assistance.

Zondi’s story is not one of overnight success, it is a story of patience and purpose, a reminder that true leadership is not about standing above others, but about lifting them up along the way.

Net Nine Nine Regional Manager, Elsie “Gabby” Mthembu believes Zondi is a man whose journey is defined not just by personal success, but by his commitment to uplifting others, and excel in his duties.

Originally from KwaNdengezi in Pinetown, Durban, Zondi’s early life was anything but easy while having to support both parents and four siblings.

In his own words, growing up in the 1990s, he was surrounded by political violence that gripped many townships across South Africa. Yet even in those uncertain conditions, seeds of ambition were planted.

He began his educational journey at Botate Primary School, He then continued at Ndengezi Higher Primary and Ntee High School, eventually completing his matric studies at Asoka Secondary School in Chatsworth - later he also worked as an educator Botate Primary School.

“I always had a vision to be a businessman,” he uttered with a stern look on his face.

The vision began to shape up in small but meaningful ways, he highlighted.

As a young man, Zondi ran a telephone booth business known then as “Mr. Phone” alongside selling bakery products.

He admits it was humble, but it taught him something invaluable - independence.

Those early ventures helped him fund his education after a gap year, eventually earning a diploma and laying the foundation for a career built on discipline and self-development.

His professional journey would span over a decade in the Department of Education, where he worked for 12 years, shaping young minds while gaining a deep understanding for people.

He heeded a higher calling, becoming a certified church minister, serving various institutions, and further grounding his life in purpose and service.

It was in 2019 when he entered the telecommunications industry, starting as a sales agent with a company in Midrand, and steadily

DIAMOND FROM PINEPINE!

growing into leadership roles, later he joined Winstel Technologies before finding his home at Net Nine Nine in 2023.

He joined Net Nine Nine in its infancy- a time when belief in the vision mattered just as much as performance.

“It has been a lovely journey watching it grow. We have grown together” he reflects.

From field agent to steward, to store coordinator, and now Regional Store Manager in Westonaria, Zondi’s rise has been marked by consistency, adaptability, and a deep understanding of people.

His experience across multiple roles within the company has made him a well-rounded leader, one who understands every layer of the business.

His typical day begins in a simple way: greeting colleagues, sharing a laugh, and leading the morning briefing.

However, beneath that simplicity lies a leadership style rooted in unity “It is easy to break a single stick but add many sticks together and they become unbreakable.”

This is a philosophy he lives by, one that has helped him build strong, cohesive teams capable of withstanding pressure and delivering results.

In a customer-facing environment where challenges are constant and emotions often run high, Zondi has learned the value of calmness, wisdom, and empathy.

“Those engagements over the counter can be emotional and challenging but they remind us that we are part of the community we serve,” he explained.

According to him, the job is not just about service delivery, it’s about human connection and ensuring that every client is heard, understood, and valued.

Yet, behind his professional drive is a deeply personal motivation.

A husband to Sera Zondi and devoted father to four boys - Siyabulela, Simangaliso, Sibusiso, and Silondiwe

- he draws his strength from his family.

“They are my driving force,” he indicated.

“Their future, their dreams, that’s what pushes me every day.”

Even with his responsibilities, he continues to invest in himself, as he recently completed a Management Certificate, currently pursuing a qualification in Operations Management, a testament to his belief that growth never stops.

But perhaps what defines Zondi the most is his passion for seeing others succeed: “Growth in others excites me. It is only human to help, but it is divine to elevate others.”

LIKE A CROCODILE IN WATER, MAMOKWENA SWIMS HER WAY TO SUCCESS!

A true testament to hard work, humility, and the power of believing in yourself…

From the rolling hills of QwaQwa in the Free State to the fast-paced world of customer service and internet connectivity.

This is Mamokoena Claurina Seabata’s journey of resilience, growth, and purpose at South Africa’s judicial capital.

At 34, Mamokoena carries with her not just years of experience, but a deep-rooted passion for people and business alike.

Raised in a close-knit community in QwaQwa, she began her educational journey at Lesaoana Intermediate School before completing her matric at Sekgutlong Secondary School.

Even then, there was a quiet determination about her, a sense that her path would be one of service and impact.

That determination led her to further her studies through the University of South Africa, where she obtained a Higher Certificate in Adult Basic Education and Training.

It was a stepping stone that shaped her understanding of people, communication, and the power of knowledge, skills that would later define her career at Net Nine Nine.

Before stepping into the telecommunications space, Mamokoena worked at fast-food retail franchise, KFC, where she sharpened her customer service skills.

It was here, behind the counter and in daily interaction with customers, that she learned one of her most valuable lessons - every person matters, and every interaction counts.

She vividly remembers the day her life changed when she joined Net Nine Nine on 16 February 2023, where she says was a bold step, a decision that would mark the beginning of a transformative chapter in her life.

Since joining the company, Mamokoena has embraced every opportunity to grow and admits her days are filled with purpose, assisting Net99 clients with their accounts, resolving issues, and ensuring that every customer at the Phuthaditjhaba store walks away satisfied.

But beyond the tasks, it is her attitude that stands out, approaches each day with dedication, patience, and a genuine desire to help.

And her efforts have not gone unnoticed, recognised by her Regional Manager Tshepo Maphosho who has been waxing lyrical about Mamokoena’s success, momentarily promoted to act as Store Manager in a male dominated field.

Being recognised as one of the hardworking employees at Net99, from Store Coordinator, is an honour she holds close to her heart, and for her, it is not just an achievement, it is motivation on its own.

Motivation to keep pushing, to keep learning, and to continue delivering excellence in everything she does.

Behind her success lies a strong support system. She speaks with great appreciation of her manager, whom she credits as a mentor, coach, and constant source of encouragement.

“With his guidance, strategies, and unwavering support, he has helped me navigate challenges, remove obstacles, and reach new heights,” said indicated about Maphosho.

But Mamokoena’s story is not just about personal success, it is about teamwork within the Net99 stable.

She believes deeply in the power of unity, often encouraging her colleagues to stay dedicated, support one another, and always put the customer first.

To her, teamwork is not just a value, it is the foundation of growth, both for individuals and for the company as a whole.

Her journey is a reminder that success is not always about where you start, but about how you grow, who you uplift along the way, and the passion you bring to what you do.

ANOTHER FRESH PRINCE

SINGING FROM KWAGUQA TO REGIONAL SUCCESS

THE STORY OF PRINCE MUENDANE

Born and raised in Kwaguqa, Mpumalanga, Prince Muendane’s journey is one of resilience, reinvention, and purpose.

Like many young people, his early dreams and aspirations were far beyond the corporate world he now thrives in. Though he didn’t say it; it was to be in the entertainment space where he’s also talented with dance and music.

Music is his first love.

With a deep passion for singing and producing, Prince made the bold decision to leave school in Grade 11 to pursue his dream of becoming a musician.

“I always wanted to be in music,” he reflects.

“That was my passion growing up, and I never lost it in anyway.”

However, life had other plans.

In 2023, Prince’s path took an unexpected turn when he joined a reseller company operating within Net Nine Nine in the KwaGuqa region.

At the time, he already had experience in sales, having worked as a Team Leader at Worldview.

What he didn’t yet realise was that this opportunity would not only reshape his career, but also redefine his purpose, but stubbornly remained glued to the music stick.

From the moment he stepped into Net Nine Nine’s fibre internet environment, Prince stood out.

It wasn’t just his willingness to learn but his ability to act, and he quickly absorbed the company’s training and, more importantly, applied it on the ground under the tutelage eye of Regional Manager, William Ratladi who watched him like a hawk.

His consistency and discipline soon paid off, earning him a promotion to Team Leader.

But Prince was only getting started.

Driven by a desire to grow, not just for himself but for those around him, he rose again, this time to Sales Manager in Emzinoni where he led with intention surrounded by a team of workaholics, building a strong, motivated team and delivering results.

Under the guidance of Ratladi and mentor Alex Kleingeld, Prince developed not only his leadership skills but also his confidence, especially employed in a company that thrives in seeing others success and producing entrepreneurs.

“I used to be shy and not very talkative,” he admits.

“Now I know how to speak to people. I’ve learned to be a leader and even a hero in my community.”

His leadership soon caught the attention of executive, Kleingeld, and he was entrusted with

OF NET NINE NINE!

an even bigger challenge - expanding operations in Sakhile, Standerton where he rose to the occasion, leading his team to an impressive milestone of 500 sales in a single month.

In the fibre industry or hard-to-crack sales environment, this is a testament to his vision, work ethic, and ability to inspire others.

Today, Prince’s role goes far beyond sales targets: each day, he prepares his team with energy and purpose, leading “pump-up” sessions like “power Wednesdays” which they, the entire Net99 sales team converge online to motivate each other, and ensure they are driven to serve customers.

For him, sales is not just about numbers but impact.

“I see myself as a problem solver,” he tells this publication.

“When people come to me, it’s my duty to help them find the best solution and leave with a smile.”

Despite his success, Prince has not forgotten his roots — or his dreams. He still plans to pursue studies in mixing and engineering, combining his love for music with his growing professional journey.

He also remains deeply grateful to those who walked the journey with him, including colleagues Nompumelelo Hlophe, Surprise Baka, Winnie Mabena, and Kamohelo Rakolota, as well as his mentors who helped shape his path.

Looking ahead, Prince’s ambitions are clear as he envisions himself leading even more regions, not for the title, but to uplift others - just as he was uplifted.

“Everything is possible,” he reckons, despite the deep cracked economic climate.

“You just have to believe in yourself and stay consistent.”

Prince’s story is more than a career success and caught everyone’s attention when colleague, Thobane Dhlamini heaped praise about him on professional social media platform, LinkedIn - a powerful reminder that sometimes, the road you didn’t plan becomes the one that leads you exactly where you are meant to be.

Be a Hero.
