Ranch & Home: Built on
Family, Grown by Community
Even after more than 50 years, Ranch & Home remains a proud community fixture that values tradition, service, and connection.
Backed by the unwavering support of his family, wife Mary, love of the outdoors, and a spirit of adventure, George Dress built Ranch & Home in 1974. He ran it remotely from Minnesota with his good friend as the store manager.
Business began to level off in the mid 1980’s and Sea Galley, wanting to diversify its portfolio, bought the store in 1988. Two years later Sea Galley wanted to sell, so Bill and his brother Jeff, valuing what they saw as their family legacy, purchased a 67% stake in the business while their father George purchased the remaining 33% to become partners in 1990. Fast
forward to today, Ranch & Home has expanded to four locations, Pasco, Kennewick, Milton-Freewater, and its newest location, Hermiston.

It was with the help of the community that the store was able to traverse the storm of 2020 and reopen stronger than ever after COVID. All employees operate under the mindset that Bill describes as “no customer, no job,” meaning every interaction with staff is filled with genuine eagerness to help. The team is always ready to give advice and simply chat with customers about their needs and desires.
Though the name may be misleading, one does not need a ranch or even a home to shop at Ranch & Home, those who rent out apartments will still find useful appliances, products, and even clothing that is higher quality than many other retailers. The store buys through organizations that are reputable and tend to “air on the side of quality,” as Bill says, going through an extensive vetting process for every product as it continuously updates its inventory to reflect more up-to-date gear. For example, Ranch & Home recently added an additional 30,000 products to its stores and took away obsolete and out-ofdate merchandise in order to give customers a more productive shopping experience.
One of the biggest misconceptions the team often hears at any of the Ranch & Home locations is that because they may not do outdoor work, people will not find any products that suit their needs. While this could not be farther from the truth as workwear, kitchen, and barbecue inventory abounds, one step inside the store and Bill recalls how all previously uncertain customers say, “I didn’t know you had all this in here.”
Ranch & Home is a company that values in-person interaction and believes in the traditional shopping experience which allows employees and customers to commune and truly get to the bottom of what products would be best for them. Online shopping cannot compare to the experience of coming into a Ranch & Home and greeting a now 92-year-old George Dress or the store pet Reno, a Bernese Mountain dog who greets every customer which a smile and a tale wag.

Since its opening, ProCare Occupational Health has brought a wealth of experience to its role in caring for the surrounding communities. Co-owners Alexander Zachary and Douglas Griffith founded the practice together with the intention of providing highly specialized occupational health services, supporting the employees that keep the world running.
“One of the key drivers behind ProCare’s success has been the strong partnership Doug and I have built over the years,” said Dr. Zachary. “This dynamic has been key to how we lead and grow the company, but more importantly how it influences our team and impacts our patients.”
ProCare’s multidisciplinary team offers comprehensive workplace injury care and management, pre-employment physical exams, DOT physicals, drug and alcohol testing, physical capacity testing, and health screenings. They also work closely with employers to tailor an occupational health program that promote overall employee health, safety, and productivity. It prioritizes the urgency of care when immediate needs arise in patients. Through organized
scheduling, clear communication, and consistent follow-up, the practice promises seamless care from start to finish.
“The healing of the sick and injured is not about the testing, the drug, or procedure, but about compassion, kindness, and communication of the healer and his touch,” added Ed Lopez, PA-C.

involved a construction worker who had suffered a back injury on the job. After injury assessments and physical therapy, the worker was able to regain their strength and mobility.
“Witnessing their return to work not only brought relief to the patient, but also underscored the importance of comprehensive care,” said Dr. Douglas Griffith.
Another important provision that the clinic takes is emphasizing preventive measures. It offers training sessions designed to educate employers and employees on injury avoidance and workplace safety.
A part of taking preventive measures includes preemployment exams. ProCare works closely with employers to make sure exams are tailored to each potential job, identifying any areas of concern that might arise.
By leveraging advanced technology, the practice uses digital records management systems to streamline data and guarantees accuracy. Its state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment delivers precise evaluations.

By welcoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner to the team, ProCare will be able to offer therapy and medication management as well as support to its patients. Not only does the clinic hope to better the mental health of individuals, but the practitioners believe this will have a profound impact on overall health.
The inclusion of an audiologist will bring added hearing services to patients. This role will focus on providing hearing assessments and treatments, while also conducting preventative measures.
