Hygge is a Danish term referring to cosiness and

making today a better tomorrow Karmen Wiid I want to share with you one simple truth that has become extremely evident in my life lately. What you do today determines who you will be tomorrow. Some people might find that frightening, but I think it is inspiring. Why? Because it means that you have the power to direct your life. You decide what your tomorrow will look like. Everything health,

These

which ended in long nights catching up on work, little sleep and a lot of stress.

you truly want to relax, recharge and rest, you need to spend your time mindfully. Be intentional with your work time, as well as your downtime.

opposite,
I leave you with another quote by John Maxwell: “You can’t change your life until you change something you do daily.” So, take control of your actions, be mindful of how you spend your time and choose to turn your today into a better tomorrow. That is how you cultivate more success and peace in your life.

authentic leadership Elani Smith It is election season, and it was such a privilege to witness Nerina's caucuses. Just as you think one candidate has outdone herself, the next one answers the questions even more flawlessly. One thing is for sure - this house has an incredible number of ladies willing to serve with humble hearts. It is no surprise that our newly elected executive team consists of three powerfully soft humans who have an absolute passion for this house and her people. Here are their dreams and hopes for Nerina this coming year:
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT AS THE NEW EXECUTIVE LEADER? Louise:
I
am
incredibly

and

for
this
opportunity to build more relationships. The past year of serving on the NCC allowed me to interact with people I probably wouldn't have gotten to know. I see this new position as an even greater opportunity to get to know people and find out what excites them and makes them unique.
WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR NERINA FOR 2021/2022? Louise: a
My vision for Nerina is straightforward - to create
space
where
we
love
deeply,
honestly
and
unconditionally; a space where we celebrate love, not just achievements; where we bring change, not for the sake of change
alone,
but
to
ensure
an
environment
where
everyone can love and be loved.
Lehani:
I want Nerina to be a home away from home, a
safe haven and a place where every Nerina feels welcome and loved for who they are. I want to create a space where we can all be genuine and vulnerable when we need to be and where we can grow together. My dream is for Nerina to be a place where we can cry, sing, laugh and be thankful as a community or as individuals supported by our community.
Edna:
Simply put: I want to make Nerina feel less like a
house and more like a home to all its residents.

Lehani:
Wow, I love them already! I genuinely enjoy
their passion and eagerness to serve and to give their absolute best. I can see their hearts are so beautiful. They truly want what is best for the house.
WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU THINK NERINA MIGHT FACE NEXT YEAR, AND HOW WILL YOU APPROACH IT?
Edna:
What I love most about my current team is
how quickly some of us formed unbreakable bonds. I know that I will continue to remain reliant on my "NCC support system", even though they won't be in

a story of hope Lara Opperman
Stories. Stories of sadness. Stories that bubble with joy. Stories that genuinely inspire and stories that are lined with hope. A story has the potential to change your perception of someone or something entirely. When I think of narratives in this way, I can't help but recall the popular saying: "Don't judge a book by its cover." These kinds of stories line our corridors, decorate the balconies, and fill each inch of the house at the top of Claassen Road. However, most of these tales are still untold and just waiting to be heard. One of

wholesome eating Hannah Roux Wholesome eating is such an essential aspect of a student’s life. A proper diet can decrease fatigue, increase productivity and promote mental well-being. However, a lot of people conflate wholesome eating with dieting and restrictive eating. Rather, wholesome eating refers to a balanced

in
which
you’re

what
you’re

A
balanced diet includes foods from each food group and food with a high nutritional value, namely those that contain plenty of vitamins and minerals.

Checkers Sixty60 to be especially helpful in this regard. I don’t spend hours browsing the store trying to decide what I want to eat, and I don’t get distracted and tempted by all the unhealthy snacks near the till.

Do some research on minimalism to fully comprehend the benefits of decluttering your life. In essence, it will give you the space and clarity to be more present, give more of yourself to the relationships that matter most and be more creative. Live your life to the fullest without any of the usual clutter getting in the way.
