in Toi Toi was $270,000, now it is $410,000 – a 52 percent jump. In Washington Valley the 2015 value was $300,000, now it is $444,000 – a 48 percent jump. The new information will be used by Nelson City Council to decide how rates will be apportioned across the city, from Stoke

A tired wall in Stoke has been transformed into a symbol of aspiration thanks to visiting artists and the hard work of local young people. The mural entitled ‘Raise’ depicts a giant native kaka which artists Charles and Janine Williams say relates to the young people who helped the wall come together. “We wanted to raise their stories, these amazing kids, and show them that they can go on to do amazing things,” says Charles. Young people from Youth Nelson and Whanake Youth also designed their own pieces of art to be attached to the walls. Charles and Janine wanted

The men allegedly responsible for stabbing another man outside Nelson Fun Park on Friday have also been charged with kidnapping and aggravated robbery. Reuben Anderson, 32, has been charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Co-accused Kane Darling, 21, is charged with kidnapping, aggravated robbery and possessing an offensive weapon. Police were called to the fun park on Friday morning, where a man was also treated for injuries. The two men, who were arrested later on Friday, initially had interim name suppression to allow them to inform their families of the charges brought against them. They have both been remanded in custody until December 3, when they will appear via audio visual link to face the charges.

Battle lines drawn in fight for Kiwibank Charles Anderson The fight to save the Stoke Kiwibank is escalating with a public meeting and petition being organised to air locals’ thoughts on the move. The meeting and petition to oppose the closure will be launched at the public meeting on Friday at 10.30am, at the Stoke Methodist Hall, by 93-year-old Stoke resident Daphne Crampton. She calls the move “terrible”. “[The closure] will take away the personal touch and make it impossible for those who are elderly or frail or who can’t afford the bus to do their banking.” The closure of the branch means the suburb will no longer have a bank after Westpac shut its doors two years ago. Stoke has a population of 16,000 with 4,500 older New Zealanders, one of the highest proportions of seniors of anywhere in New Zealand. Mayor Rachel Reese says she is “astounded” by the decision in Nelson’s fastest growing suburb. Over the next 30 years Stoke is projected to home three-quarters of the population and half its new housing. “[Kiwibank’s] failure to engage with council and the public is concerning to say the least, and we’ve asked representatives from these publicly owned companies to give the com-

Imagine how much you would miss their touch, their company, the sounds they make.” She says many older people are forced to give up their animals when they move into smaller accommodations and some make the hard choice not to replace the ones they have because they do not want to outlive them. “But they miss them and PetConnect sees willing animal

owners come and share their animals with older people who really appreciate having them around.” Breffni says although the animals are the focus, it is also an opportunity for new friends to be made, good conversations to be had and generations to come together. She says Age Concern is hugely proud of the difference the PetConnect volunteers make to the people they visit.

Inner-city businesses in Nelson may no longer have to contribute to hanging flower baskets outside their shops. Last Thursday, Nelson City Council’s works and infrastructure committee recommended that council fully-fund the programme from the parking and CBD enhancement account, due to the decline in national and international chain stores participating in the annual scheme. A final decision will be made at the next full council meeting on 13 December. Council’s parks and facilities manager Rosie Bartlett said in a report that a request for a contribution waiver from a restaurant owner on Hardy St initiated a review and council have spent a significant amount of time door knocking and talking to retailers. Currently, it costs businesses $40 for a basket. Last year, with 422 baskets installed, this collected $15, 974. Rosie said they have the capacity for an additional 79 baskets. The report said that if council votes to fully fund the baskets, it will cost them an extra $16,000. But councillor Tim Skinner said he couldn’t “see any cost or problem” due to the loss of income being offset by an administration cost saving of $6,850 for invoicing, as well as approximately $4,000 in additional staff time to visit each business, and follow-up administration work. “It’s only really costing around $5,000 and saving staff time. $16,000 is really misleading.” Councillor Matt Lawrey supported the recommendation. “One of the things I like about what’s being proposed is that when we have empty shops, there will be flowers outside them.”

Dozens of motorbikes will roar into Nelson this Sunday, bringing an important message with them. The White Ribbon Ride is an initiative that tackles the country’s crippling domestic violence record. The week-long ride started in Kaikoura last weekend and will finish in Nelson on White Ribbon Day Sunday, 25 November with a free family event at Victory Square. Over the week, riders have been visiting communities, making presentations and sharing the message about New Zealand’s problem with family harm. White Ribbon rider and ambassador Blair McKenzie is a survivor of family violence and abuse says it’s an opportunity to bring the issue out into the open and get people talking. “I grew up in a family with a generational curse of abuse. This made me a very disturbed young man and, unfortunately, I carried it into my own life as a married man,” he says.

“Nineteen years ago, I had enough of myself and it was change or die. Thankfully I have changed, breaking the cycle of abuse in my family. “New Zealand has the worst statistics in the western world. We’re trying to address that and let people know that it’s not right.” There are about 20 riders doing the South Island lap, but Blair encourages any locals with a motorbike or scooter to join the convoy as they approach Nelson. The convoy will be leaving Westport on Sunday morning at 7am and picking up riders at Beechwoods in Murchison at 9am, Faulkner Bush at 10.30am before rolling into Victory Square around 11am. Blair says they are planning to travel over the Bishopdale hill, past the church steps, down Trafalgar St, through the Wakatu carpark and then down either Vanguard or St Vincent St. “We will make a lot of noise as we enter Nelson.” The event at Victory Square will run from 11am – 1pm and include touch rugby games, a BBQ, bouncy castles, music and a presentation.

Women decision makers in the region’s councils have been celebrated as part of a push to recognise the trail blazers who paved the way for female leadership in Nelson. A new booklet outlining the role women had in Nelson and Tasman from 1944 to 2018 has just been released. It features 51 women and their stories which have never been collated before. "This is a major contribution to recognising the history of our region,” said Mayor Rachel Reese, who was the first woman elected mayor of the city. Many of the women gathered at the Nel-

son City Council today as part of a ceremony marking the role they have had in the governance of the region. "I look around this room and see women who are my inspiration for even considering standing for local government.” The booklet was created by Gail Collingwood, Elaine Henry, Hilary Mitchell and Shelley Richardson. Gail, a former Nelson city councillor, said that many women there today had travelled from as far away as Auckland to be there. She said that, despite women being eligible to stand for elections in 1893, it was not until 1951 that a woman was elected to the Nelson council. Rachel said that it was important to rec-

ognise the milestone of suffrage on its 125th anniversary and it was fitting to celebrate the local women who had continued that tradition. "This region can hold its heads high with the women who did incredible things to change face of New Zealand.” She said she held a sense of responsibility to encourage other women into positions of leadership. Especially because the number of women on councils in Nelson and Tasman was so low - sitting around 21 and 23 percent. "We need more women sitting at council tables … Young women should be encouraged, always, to strive for leadership roles.”

Veteran can still pull the wool Locally Owned and Operated

Every year the sheep shearers of Nelson North descend to compete for the ultimate crown. Sara Hollyman meets the man who makes it all happen.

Ken Weaver was just 14-years-old when he left school to become a fleece picker. It was 1951 and the price of sheep wool had gone through the roof. It was the greatest economic boom in New Zealand history, thanks to America’s war with Korea. “Normally they were paying one shilling an hour, we were getting paid nine shillings and six pence an hour,” he says. “Hell, that was a lot of money.” Ken, the oldest of nine children, says his entire first pay packet went in the bank. That was the beginning of his lifelong career in the farming industry. A career that he can’t seem to stay away from, even at 81-years of age. Every year, Ken and his wife Glenys organise the Nelson North Country Club Speed Shear, which coincides with the Nelson A&P Show. Shearers from across the country compete to be crowned top of their game, and claim the $600

This weekend will be no exception. “They’re good on the veterans, it’s not all about the speed.” Asked if he was was planning on giving up anytime soon, Ken replied: “Well, good question. A lot of it’s about where you put your feet, so I’ll give it a go while I can.” He says in his life long career in farming, which began in his home region of Marlborough, he

has worn many hats, but he has never been a professional shearer. Once the wool prices began dropping after the boom, Ken went to work for the Rabbit Board, hunting rabbits for local fruit tree growers, which he says was a totally different ball game to what it is now. “We used to use larvicide to gas the burrows. It had tear gas in it for safety, so we’d know if the space we were in wasn’t getting enough fresh air. “I was too young to have a shot-

gun, so I carried the larvicide gun, but I tell you what, I used to know where the best fruit in Marlborough was growing, and we’d eat our fair share of it on the job.” After rabbit hunting, he was ready to take over his own farm, which he did in the form of a 10acre block in Renwick – an old army camp which was covered in Manuka and rabbits, so he had to clear it all before he began to farm. He moved to Nelson in 1975

where he began farming 3600 acres of land at Delaware Bay, which he continued for 25 years until he retired to Atawhai. Ken says after the wool boom, Agriculture and Fisheries, now known as MPI, were keen to run trials on other types of farming. He says he took it a step further than a trial and sent test samples from his goats’ fur to Australia. The results found that certain goats had a fine down in their hair – cashmere - which was even finer than mohair. So, Ken became the first person in the region to shear goats to make cashmere, right at the beginning of another boom. He says one thing that’s changed over his years of shearing different animals is the noise. “There were no machines back then, so it was so quiet in the shearing shed. The wool classer would ring the dong to signal the end of smoko and all you’d hear was the shed door clicking shut, it was just so quiet.” In his heyday Ken could shear 100 sheep with hand shears – essentially a good pair of scissors if he was “really going for it”. Moving on from Morri Street

An iconic Nelson café is up for sale for the first time in its 21year history. Morri Street Café has long been a popular coffee spot for Nelsonians, but owner Kay Field has decided it’s time to move on. “After 21 years, I want to do something else. I’m ready.” Morrison Square was previously owned by Kay’s family, where her brother operated a garden centre. She started out in 1997 as a catering business around where Aki Sushi is today, but she says it wasn’t long until the coffee and café took over. She spent a year in that space before moving to the current premises on Hardy St. “It was quite funny … back then people told me, ‘the last thing Nelson needs is another café’.” Kay says things have certainly changed in the café industry since they first opened. “In 1997 there was no such thing of gluten-free, chia and quinoa.” In 2015, Kay rebranded the business from Morrison Street Café to Morri Street Café and refur-

But some things have stayed the same, including their coffee supplier - Atomic Coffee - and their loyal customer base. She employs around 14 staff, whom Kay says are the backbone of the café, helping to maintain its great reputation in Nelson over the years. “I have the best front of house manager, Jessica Shin, and the best head chef, Baydon Fowlie.”

In 2004 they were the runner-up in Michael Guy’s best café competition and she has even published two cook books. The sustainable café recycles most of their waste, donates used coffee grinds for soil conditioner, gives food waste to a local pig farmer and were the first solar café in the region. They also support many local events, schools and charities and donate excess fresh baking daily

to the Nelson community food bank. Kay, who was born and bred in Nelson says she will stay in the region and has another business idea in the concept phase. She says it will be strange feeling letting go of Morri Street. “It’s kind of like my first born. I’d like to see a young couple take it over and take it to the next level and hopefully keep it going for another 21 years.”

Business hub launched: Local institutions are teaming up in a bid to retain the region’s top talent. The Mahitahi Colab, located at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, officially opened last week. Owned by a charitable trust consisting of representatives from NMIT, the Nelson Regional Development Agency and the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce, the colab was created to bring those organisations under one roof. NRDA chief executive Mark Rawson says the vision was about collaborating to support and inspire clever business, innovation and talent in Nelson Tasman.

Nelson Matters The experience of two Nelson constituents has exposed for me a flaw in our justice system that needs to be fixed. That is why I am asking people to add their signatures to Wendy’s Petition seeking the same rights and protection for victims when the offender is found to be insane. Wendy is a Nelson nurse who was brutally assaulted by a mental health patient. She was kicked, stabbed and scalded during which the attacker said he would get off on an insanity plea. This is what happened when he was charged with attempted murder. The offender was recently re-located to Nel-

son without any opportunity for Wendy to have a say. Another constituent, Sarah, faced a similar trauma when she was brutally raped last year in a Nelson home invasion by a deranged man. She has sustained a brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder. The problem is that, because these offenders were found not guilty by way of insanity, these women did not have the same rights as the victim of a criminal offender. They had no right to a victim impact statement in the court proceedings. They have no opportunity to a say on when and where the special pa-

tient is subsequently released or any conditions of release. I also find it unjust that the offender has the right to access personal information about the victim for their defence but the victim has no right to any information about the offender’s health status on privacy grounds. This anomaly in the law is affecting more people with the national growth in successful insanity pleas. There were four in 2000, 16 in 2000 and 36 in 2017. Some legal and mental health professionals have argued that a victim should not get a say as they are not experts. This is flawed. We allow victims

Real win for Daniel’s virtual eco home

At just 10-years-old, Nelson Central School pupil Daniel Turinsky has built his first eco home and received national accolades for doing so. But he has done it on Minecraft – a game that allows people to build virtual worlds. Daniel is the national winner of this year’s primary section of the School-gen Minecraft ‘Eco-house’ competition. The competition, run by Interface, tasked students with building an energy-efficient home which had minimal impact on the environment. Daniel’s parents are currently building a new home, so he says he pulled a lot of the thought process behind design features from that into his virtual home.

“It took me ages to find the right site. I wanted somewhere on a bit of a hill, but still flat, and there had to be a river next to it.” Daniel’s award-winning home contains features such as a concrete floor to hold heat, energy-efficient appliances, locallysourced timber, quadruple-glazed windows, a vegetable garden and motion and light-activated lighting systems. The home is powered by solar panels and the energy pathway from the panels to the home has been carefully thought out by Daniel. He even built a water wheel as a second power source, which is gravity-fed by the river. The judges said Daniel’s design was “thought through and explained the sustainability of all elements of his eco

house.” Daniel’s teacher, Amy Johnson, says Minecraft has become a valuable educational tool. “In order to create a complex design, the students need to consider their overall purpose and the smaller design features required to create this. It is a great tool for engendering creative and critical thinking skills, which are essential lifelong skills.” Amy uses Minecraft as part of a reading response programme in conjunction with an app in which children can record their explanations or narrative of a scene. “This has been an excellent tool for encouraging reluctant writers and seeing a more accurate representation of abilities for children with a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia, who have strengths thinking visually.”

Preparing your vehicle for a summer trip

Summer is officially here and for many of us that means we’ll be planning to hit the road for our eagerly anticipated holiday road trip. If you’re getting away during the holidays, be mindful of the increased traffic on the roads and make sure you’re all geared up for a safe journey. With that in mind, here are some tips we give to our Members when they ask how they can ensure their car is in its best shape before a long trip. Tyres: It’s been a few years now since the legal requirement for a Warrant of Fitness (WoF) inspection was pushed out from six to twelve months and this means motorists should be even more vigilant when it comes to checking their tyres. Over the course of a year, they’re more likely to wear out completely or at the very least develop uneven

wear. Before any trip, check the pressures - and don’t forget the spare. It’s not just about safety, there’s an impact upon your bank balance too as under-inflated tyres consume more fuel. If you have a 20c coin on hand, you can easily and quickly check the tread depth yourself. The bottom of the ‘20’ is approximately 2mm from the edge of the coin, so with the number facing towards you, insert the coin into the tread of the tyre. If you can read the whole number your tyre is getting close to the 1.5mm minimum legal depth for a WoF and it’s time to replace it. If the digits are still partly concealed, you know the tread of your tyre is still within the legal guidelines. Do a final check for cuts, bulges and uneven wear by running your hand around the circumference of the tyre. If you’re unsure, speak to a tyre professional

Nelson A&P Show This weekend crowds of locals will flock through the gates of the Nelson A and P Show – Golden Edge 2018, taking place on November 24th and 25th at the Richmond Park Showgrounds. “It’s a great way for locals to celebrate the region; it brings everyone together,” says co-ordinator Annette Robinson. “We have so many regular trade sites coming back year after year, there’s always lots of awesome displays, fun competitions, food

stalls and entertainment – it’s a great atmosphere!” It’s the 11th show Annette has been involved with, and she’s been managing the event since 2012. “We have regular people who always come to the show and those numbers don’t seem to drop, which is absolutely brilliant; we’d love to see more people, of course. Over the course of the weekend, we estimate between 10 and 12 thousand people attend the event including all the stallholders, com-

petitors and volunteers; everyone who is connected with the show. Fingers crossed, it will be fine weather this weekend!” Some of the highlights this year include newcomers The Nelson Marlborough District Health Board who will be focussing on farming health, in particular bowel screening with their large bouncy castle (inflatable colon) which is

bound to attract a lot of interest. “We’ll also have a food court,” says Annette. “It will have a good selection of cultures, which is great. There’re lots of exciting displays, competitions, food stalls and entertainment at this year’s Nelson A&P Show. See sheep on display, handcraft ladies spinning and weaving, dog trials, live entertainment, Clydesdale horses and so much more. the Animal Barn and the children’s displays. Simply contact the office or pop on the website for entry details.” There’s a larger area allocated for the dog trials this year, and the Royal Equestrian event is a big drawcard. There’s also a great line-up of live entertainment planned over the course of the weekend. “Paul Madsen organises this, it’s always excellent, with a variety of entertainers scheduled to play at different times. This year’s Nelson A and P Show is the 124th event of its kind in the region, with show organisers also gearing up for the event’s big 125th birthday celebrations next year! “In conjunction with the 125th show, a book is going to be published which brings out historical snippets in relation to the event, focussing on local and national events and their effect on the Nelson Show. Next year will be huge!” To set up the show takes a lot of effort, and there’s a massive number of people involved. “They are invaluable. The grounds committee is busy

preparing the ground, setting everything up and planning; there’re all the people who support our competition sections; they have to set them, then the judges come in.” Meanwhile, co-ordinater Annette Robinson joins all the dots. She says, while she still enjoys her role, the older she gets she sometimes wonders how long she can keep it up! “For now, I think I’ve still ‘got it’. I guess I’ll know when it’s the right time to give up. I used to work for Nelson Bays Football, so organising is one of my strengths, I suppose; I ‘cut my teeth’ at Appleby School – I was the first person to organise their gala. Richmond Park is an amazing place; we have 100 acres here; the forefathers obviously had a good vision for the future and the park is here for the future; for all the children in the region. We want to see it here for another 125 years, but we are conscious we need to change with the times; and we are prepared to change and try and think outside the square – what used to happen 20 years ago doesn’t necessarily work today.” The cost of attending the show is comparable with other events in the region which are similar.

It’s possible to prebuy tickets for $10 at the Richmond Mall, Bowater Toyota (Nelson and Motueka), More FM and Haven Motors. “If people want to come for two days, they can buy another ticket for $5. A pre-bought one-day family ticket is $20 for two adults and three children. We’ve aimed it towards families because it’s a family event. This year a concession ticket for over 65’s is available, with pre-bought tickets selling for $7 each” (ID is needed on purchase and at the gate). There’re still some sites available for stalls. If Jim and Rima Samuels were alive to see 50 years of their hard work come to life they would have been “really chuffed,” says their son Brian. Sunday marked 50 years since Broadgreen House’s first Rose Sunday and the official opening of what would later be known as the Samuels Rose Garden. Hundreds gathered to commemorate the occasion at ‘Among the Roses 2018’, which was paired with a vintage car show. The gardens officially opened on November 17, 1968 – the brainchild of Jim and Rima – who always maintained that Nelson grew the best roses in the world. Jim saw an opportunity when the land was being developed and encouraged Nelson City Council to purchase the land. He contributed 250 varieties of bud grafted rose bushes, 2056 bushes in total, to start the gardens off.

One of these is the Rima rose - a hybrid tea rose developed by Jim and named after his wife. It was the first New Zealand rose to receive a British Trial Ground Certificate – officially establishing it as a new variety. The gardens are now home to some 500 varieties of roses, and mayor Rachel Reese, along with the youngest and eldest living members of the Samuels family, unveiled a new plaque to commemorate the 50th Anniversary on Sunday. The plaque shares the history of the gardens, and the Samuels family’s involvement in turning the dream into a reality. Rachel spoke to the remaining family members about the legacy and incredible gift Jim and Rima had given to the city of Nelson. “It is regarded by visitors as one of the best rose gardens in the world,” she says. Brian Samuels also spoke and says it’s a shame his mum and dad weren’t alive to see the gardens and the plaque because they’d be “really chuffed”.

For the first time in its history, Nelson College will field an U15 side at the National Condor Sevens. The side’s inclusion is a direct consequence in the commitment that the College is making in their Rugby Academy Programmes. For many years they have had a Senior Academy for Year 12 and 13 students. This year it comprised about 35 Year 12 and Year 13 students who were predominantly 1st and 2nd XV players. The Senior Condors team has come out of this group and they won their way to the National tournament by dint of winning the Regional tournament. A real investment has now also been undertaken in the Year 10 programme as 40 rugby players

opted for the Junior Academy in 2018. The Academy has run as a core curriculum subject for four hours per week throughout the year. It is based on the six pillars of rugby – technical, tactical, physical, nutrition, mental and holistic. The Academy is fronted by former Scottish, Hurricanes and Taranaki skills coach Jono Phillips and Master in Charge of Rugby Peter Grigg. They have also had the expertise of All Black Kane Hames throughout most of the year. These 40 students formed the base of the schools two Under 15 rugby teams and from this an “A” team was selected to represent Nelson College in the prestigious South Island fifteen a side tournament hosted by Nelson College in 2018.

The Condors trip is the culmination of a series of tournaments and internal trials at sevens level. In March two teams travelled down to Timaru to contest the South Island tournament. A try after the final hooter by Christchurch Boys High School deprived them of the title but the second placing was enough to ensure an invitation to Condors. Nelson College also won the Tasman Regional tournament and last week took out an invitational round robin held in Renwick. Tasman Mako Isaiah Miller is the coach of the sevens team. The sevens team is sure to gain further experience as they are going to make something of a road trip North. They are participating in a small

preparatory tournament in Rotorua on Tuesday with hosts Rotorua Boys High School and Western Heights College. This should ensure they are battle hardened for the Condors tournament in Auckland on Thursday and Friday. Nelson College have drawn a tough pool which includes host Scared Heart College, Otahuhu College and Rangitoto College. They say that to be the best you have to beat the best – and that would certainly be the case if Nelson College were able to progress top out of this pol of death. The long-term plan for the Nelson College sevens programme is one of growth. It is hoped that in 2019 as well as continuing to have an Under 15 team and Senior team

at Condors they will also send an Under 16 team to Rarotonga to compete in a tournament there in December. In 2020 a further expansion is anticipated by returning with an Under 17 group to an Invitational tournament at Vajiravudh College in Thailand that the College last (and won) in 2010. ;lFrom 2020 on the ambitious plan will be to continue sending teams at each of the four grades to major sevens tournaments each year. Nelson College wish this current team luck with their trip up North next week and thank the sponsors for their generous support. Hopefully it is the beginning of a successful long-term sevens programme at the College both nationally and internationally.

David Leonard and Mason Robinson will represent New Zealand at the inaugural over-50s World Cup in Sydney starting this week. David, 52, will be one of the sides opening bowling and middle order batting options while Mason, also 52, will keep wicket and bat at first drop. The New Zealand squad of 16 features nine former first class cricketers, including David who played for Central Districts. David made over 60 appearances for Central but says wearing a Black Cap will be his career highlight. “Representing your country in anything is special.” The tournament will be similar to the World Cup with the only difference being the colour of the ball and the number of overs. “It’s normal one day cricket but just five less overs and we use a pink ball.” While the men say the bodies don’t move as fast and no one can bowl as quick, the batting talent stays around. “There is an amazing level of skill with the bat shown and the bowlers become more wily,” David says. They say the squad is a well balanced one, with a number of multi-skilled allrounders. “Everyone can bat too.” Mason will have to see off Robbie Kerr,

The basketball court is not the only sports arena where the Nelson Giants stand tall. A trio from the franchise, Tom Ingham, Riley Bensemann and captain Sam Dempster, have been spending the off season shining on the cricket, touch and rugby pitch. Cricketer Tom says, while basketball remains his priority, he plans to continue the balancing act as long as possible. Tom has enjoyed success on both the court and pitch, representing the Nelson Griffins for the past two seasons. He says, while notching up high scores and making rep teams is “always awesome,” his best cricketing moment came when batting with his father. “Getting to bat with my dad in senior cricket after watching him all my childhood was awesome.” Tom says basketball comes first but as long as he is playing with good team mates and enjoying some success with the bat he will keep

playing both. “Cricket is tough after Christmas to balance with basketball as I want as little distractions as possible building into the Giants’ pre-season - so rep cricket has to take a back seat, but I’ll still try play club as much as I can.” Giants skipper Sam Dempster recently ran out for the Stoke sevens side, which won the Motueka tournament two weeks ago. Hello Nelson! My name is Jay, I have just moved over from Blenheim where I have my own house. I’ve moved to Nelson for work. I’m professionally employed in recruit management.
