MY ART DEISIGN PORTFOLIO
I designed a functional ceramic lamp inspired by the ocean through research and development. I created a series of clay coral refinements to experiment with techniques and identify the most suitable approach for my final piece.
MATERIALS USED: Led pencil, colouring pencils, clay and a ball-point pen

1. ANALYSIS
I used different designs to show how I would want my final lamp to look like; this helped me produce my final design as it allowed me to experiment with multiple alinements and positionings of the shell as it's the base of the lamp.
I made small clay development models to spot errors in making and helped me practice my skills for my final piece evidently showing what design would be best and the most functional for my final ceramic lamp sculpture.
I drew some light distributions to illustrate the possible ways my lamp could produce light, this made me realised I wanted the light to come out of some of the tentacles and the opening on the bottom that acted like a beacon as it was the most effective.
This was how the finishing design of the lamp still wet from the clay. It is 37cm tall in height.
Once the clay got fired, I then put a disk of light inside the lamp, as you can see the light shines through the opening on the bottom and a small bit out the tentacles as the hole is very small.

MY ART EXPRESSIVE PORTFOLIO
At first, I found portrait drawing challenging as it was my first time, but I improved over time. I took four self-portrait photos and drew them, with the final piece completed on a larger scale to represent the finished portfolio work.

THE OBSERVATIONAL DRAWINGS FOR MY EXPRESSIVE PORTFOLIO
I chose a hand for my observational drawing because I often express myself through hand gestures, and it symbolises how I communicate, which I wanted to reflect in my portfolio
I included an eye in my observational drawing to practise detailed observation, as eyes contain many intricate features and are essential when drawing a face
I tested out a new media. I used a printing Lionel to create this. I have overlapped, made a glitch effect, worked with different materials such as a page from a book and fabric. I also over lapped yellow brown and orange to make a rustic effect as things begin to rust in the long time.
GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE PORTFOLIO
The theme of my portfolio is Passage of Time, I chose this because it makes me reflect on life and how time influences everyday living, a concept I have always been strongly interested in.

I included a Roman clock to reflect the past and used a rustic background to show how time causes wear, reinforcing the theme of my portfolio
This drawing shows how time slowly changes and damages a person. I did this to illustrate long-term wear in the aging face. The cracked mirror suggest change that can't be fixed and the cogs in the face show time as mechanical and controlling and how the use of machinery is expanding throughout time.
4. OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL - THE BARN PROJECT
OCTOBER 2025
HEIGHT 10CM, LENGTH 27CM, 15CM WIDE
I first sketched my design and created a cardboard model of a hut and barn connected together for convenience in storing equipment based on what I planned before hand on paper. The hut has a slanted roof for rain runoff, stables for horses, a hanging lead, and hay in the barn as shown in the third image. All doors and gates open and close, making the model functional. This project improved my 3D design, creativity, and planning skills.
MATERIALS USED:
-Thread
-Ball-point pen
-Carboard
-hot glue gun
5. LED PENCIL DRAWINGS
I decided to draw a candle that is melting from the flame as it allows me to draw with different tones. This also helped to experiment with shading as the light is fading.
I drew my desk by looking at it with various angles, then modified it, I attached drawers to make it more practical and added vintage handles to give it that warm home feel.
This drawing of the wall lamp showed me how tone adds realism. The light from the top left, visible in the lamp’s reflection, made the drawing more lifelike. Using depth highlighted the uneven bricks, making them stand out. ALL November 2025 MATERIALS USED: Led pencils
I experimented with angles by drawing a staircase, adding lighting through the pillars and moulding to show the wall. This helped me understand perspective.
6. MORE 3D MODELS
I designed a shelf using toothpicks, hotglued into an Xshaped base. The design allows access from the sides, making it more practical than regular shelves.

MATRIALS USED: toothpicks, carboard, hot glue gun
I made a small cardboard model of a corner shop, using hot glue to assemble it. I designed large windows to showcase the interior and attract more customers.
