BOARD MEETINGS
ABOUT YOUR BOARD
Regular board meetings, where the Board conducts its business in public, are scheduled on the second Monday of each month at the Richard A. Middleton Education Center (RAMEC), 8961 Tesoro Drive. At all regularly scheduled meetings, the executive session begins at 5:30 p.m. and the public portion of the meeting convenes no earlier than 6:15 p.m.
North East ISD is governed by a seven-member school board elected by its residents. Each trustee represents a single member district in which they reside and serve a four-year term.
Special board meetings are called as needed. Notice of all board meetings is posted 72 hours in advance on a bulletin board at the front entrance of the RAMEC and on the District website. Board meetings are livestreamed on the District’s Youtube channel. The links can be found at neisd.net.
NEISD will prepare our students for college and workforce readiness by challenging them to maximize their knowledge, technological skills, and potential for learning through both academic achievement and personal excellence.
ADDRESSING THE BOARD Matters From the Floor is the time provided during regular board meetings for citizens to address the Board on any issue or concern they may have. Topics may not include the character of any student, staff or Board member. Each person who signs up to speak prior to the meeting can address the Board one time for no more than three minutes. This time may be adjusted based on the number of people speaking. Following the citizen’s presentation, board members cannot respond to issues or concerns that were not listed on the agenda, but they may vote to put an issue on a future agenda or to have the administration follow up. If a person has signed up to addres a specific item on the agenda, the Board will call them forward when that agenda item is being discussed.
