Art of Giving John LaVelle, a North Babylon High School Class of 2003 graduate and teaching artist, visited the district to lead a twoday, hands-on workshop designed to help students carve and paint pumpkins for a charity event. LaVelle, who collaborated on the project with art teachers Theresa Marchionna, Rose Whalen and Veronica Murphy, visited Robert Moses Middle School the first day and the high school the second day. On October 21st,

the Performing Arts Support Association will be sponsoring its first “Pumpkin Walk” at William E. DeLuca Elementary School. All members of the school district and community are invited to take a fall stroll, play games and enjoy autumn treats while they bid on their favorite pumpkins. Admission is $5 per person, $4 for PASA members, and children 4 and under are admitted for free; all proceeds benefit art students’ scholarships.

The boys purchased pink jerseys to wear at their senior night game and held a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition.
