Tech Competition Set The 2017 Spellman High Voltage Electronics Clean Tech Competition will be held at Stony Brook University, 100 Nicolls Road, Stony Brook at the Center for Leadership and Development & Service (LDS building) on Friday, July 14th. The theme of this year’s Competition is “Creating a Greener Future” and students will compete for over $20,000 in prize money. The final round of the Competition will take
place between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Students from 10 will have 15 minutes to explain the problem they identified, present their solution for mitigating the problem’s negative impacts. Winners will be named between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. This inspiring and important competition is free and open to the public and students, parents, teachers, members of the business community and groups are all welcome to

Take Heart With Tea An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but a recent study found drinking tea might keep the cardiologist at bay.
The USDA reported that men and women who drank black tea for three weeks reduced their total and bad
cholesterol (LDL) levels by an average of 7.5 percent. Researchers concluded that drinking tea may reduce the
risk of coronary heart disease. Antioxidants called flavonoids, found in both green and black teas, are thought to
be potent weapons in the fight against heart disease. That news may be especially important
for women, given that heart disease kills more women than all forms of cancer combined including breast cancer.
