The Charity of The Month for March is: United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island www.ucp-li.org United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island is a non-profit organization with the mission to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. They have actively been serving those in need on Long Island for over 70 years!
every dollar they receive goes back into their programs and services.
This organization, despite their name, helps individuals with a wide range of disabilities. In fact, over 65 percent of those they serve today do not have cerebral palsy. They are equipped to serve those with Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Disorders, Autism, Epilepsy, Spina Bifida, Traumatic Brain Injury, Sensory Impairments, Chronic Physical/ Medical Conditions and Tourette Syndrome, among others.

Fourteen of West Islip’s finest young orchestra musicians were selected for this year’s Long Island String Festival Association concerts, based on competitive New York State School Music Association ratings as well as teacher recommendations. The LISFA secondary concert was held Jan. 12 at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High
School in West Islip, while the LISFA intermediate concert took place Jan. 26 at Northport High School. The chosen students were Natalie Aspetti of Bayview Elementary School; Jeremy Duffy and Madison Howley of Paul J. Bellew Elementary School; Jacqueline Grande and Daphne Vaughan of Manetuck Elementary
