Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently joined with Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilman Terry McSweeney to recognize employees of UL who took part in cleanups at Carll’s River and Santapogue Creek. Over 50 UL employees

participated in three cleanups to remove litter and debris at these sites, where they also took part in interactive discussions with the town’s Department of Environmental Control about environmental programs and issues in the area. Joining the town

officials to honor the UL employees were Robyn Silvestri from Save the Great South Bay, who helps coordinate these cleanups with the town, and Lindenhurst Mayor Michael Lavorata, who is also a UL employee and took part in the cleanups.

The students read “How to Code a Sandcastle” and then created coding instructions for some of their favorite things, including tacos, the floss and YouTube channels.
