On October 13th, Connetquot High School boys’ varsity soccer coach John Zambriski took time before the team’s scheduled game with visiting Newfield to recognize his graduating seniors. Surrounded by teammates, family and friends, the seniors listened as coach Zambriski reviewed their achievements, and thanked them for their dedication and leadership. The graduating seniors were presented with gifts, and showered with praise for their support of

Connetquot boys’ soccer. Following the senior ceremonies, the Connetquot T-birds used their enthusiasm to outplay the visitors, turning a 2-1 halftime lead into a 3-1 win. Connetquot improves to an overall 8-51 record in a challenging Suffolk League II. Brothers Andrew and Kevin Johnson along with Dylan Zampaglione scored one goal apiece for the T-birds Goalie Tyler Moore was credited with six saves for Connetquot. Congratulations to the

winning boys’ varsity soccer team, and a sincere ‘thank you’ to the following graduating seniors for their dedication and leadership: Daniel Bamfo, Anthony Chimbay, Kevin Johnson, Robert LoBosco, Aidan Mallon, Patrick O’Shea, Brandon Ribeiro, and Dylan Zampaglione. The Charity of the Month for October is

Long Island Coalition for the Homeless www.addessthehomeless.org Long Island Coalition for the Homeless (LICH) was founded in 1985. Their mission is to end homelessness on Long Island and alleviate the issues associated with homelessness and poverty for homeless and at risk persons in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Located in the Amityville Community Resource Center, this Boutique is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10AM-3PM by appointment only (at this time, shelter staff/case managers must schedule an appointment to pick up their clients’ items). Upon entering the boutique, you can expect to ﬁnd clothing, nonperishable food, new bedding and pillows, personal care and feminine care items, toiletries and much more! The clothing options can range from casual to business attire and there is clothing available in all sizes; infant through adult. They are currently looking for volunteers who are organized, fun and dedicated to sort and display items at the Boutique. Even giving just a few hours of your time can be a huge help. Additionally, they are in need of various donations. The most needed items are baby diapers, formula and wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine products, plus-size clothing, school supplies (especially binders, dividers and spiral notebooks), along with non-perishable food items. They are also looking for new and gently used housewares. If you are interested in making a donation to or volunteering with the Boutique, please email boutique@addressthehomeless.org. Additionally, they are holding a Volunteer Day On Saturday, November 13th at the Boutique. This day allows anyone who is vaccinated to come down and get involved, whether it be for community service hours or not. There will be two

Masks are required and volunteers who will attend are encouraged to bring a donation of non-perishable food (canned or boxed goods) with them to this Volunteer Day. Rep. Zeldin Joins Supervisor Aguiar, Local Ofﬁcials And Residents At Demolition Of Two Buildings In Downtown Riverhead Downtown Revitalization project underway. Congressman Zeldin helped facilitate the joint efforts of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers and the Town of Riverhead to develop a Floodplain Management Study for the revitalization project. Congressman Zeldin has also expressed support to the U.S. Department

of Transportation for Riverhead’s RAISE grant application to help fund the creation of Riverhead Town Square. The proposed Town Square will consist of a public gathering space, pedestrian connectivity and open vistas from Main Street to the riverfront, and will be a driving force for further revitalization in downtown Riverhead.

Bohemia Artist Elaine Faith Thompson, Will Be Exhibiting Her Art

Bohemia Artist Elaine Faith Thompson, will be exhibiting her art in the East Northport Library, located at 185 Larkfield Road, East Northport, 11731 for the month of November. Library Hours: Mon. - Fri. 9 am - 9 pm, Sat. 9 am - 5 pm, Sun. 1 pm - 5 pm. In 1967 she was an illustrator living in East Northport only blocks away from the library. Thompson was a free-lance artist illustrating liquor bottle labels. At the time she was without a car and had two infants that she would push in an large oldfashioned baby carriage to and from the supermarket on Larkfield Road. She moved to Bohemia, and soon after tragedy struck when her husband, a Korean War Veteran, died of a massive heart attack. That is when she launched her advertising agency and fine art painting business. This exhibit will feature some surprise paintings, one local scene and one President. Thompson’s exhibit includes paintings of: Fire Island and Montauk lighthouses; The

Statue of Liberty; The Big Duck; Presidents JFK on his Sailboat, George Washington praying for his Soldiers at Valley Forge, Theodore Roosevelt and his home at Sagamore Hill; local scenes; Davis Park Fire Island, Riverhead Raceway, the Peconic River, Aqueduct and Roosevelt Raceways, Smithtown Bull, Downtown Sayville and Schoolhouse, Mount Sinai Garden, Lady Golfer at Timber Point, and Sunflowers. Her portraits include “Pope Francis in America,” Derek Jeter, John Heisman, Bobby Jones, and Elvis. Other paintings are autos, pets and golf art including Shinnecock, Sebonack, Winged Foot and Bethpage. Her paintings are photorealism and impressionism in a vanGogh style, in color and black and white. She also paints commissions on request.
