Ethical Friends of Children, a program helping needy families on Long Island, seeks clothing (tops, bottoms, pjs, sweaters and socks) in certain sizes. Specific sizes are: GIRLS: 3-4, 4-5 and 9-10 and BOYS: 7-8 and 9-10. Ethical Friends of Children is an outreach

BAY SHORE STUDENTS WIN WRITING AWARDS - Earlier this year, students at Bay Shore Middle School were given the opportunity to show off their creative writing skills! Their muse was their choice of one of the fourteen creepy illustrations from The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg. Each drawing is paired with a title and caption. Students were tasked with conjuring their own tales of mystery and horror that told the story of their chosen illustration. Students then anonymously voted on their favorite narratives from another class, and were encouraged to read their stories to their peers. The 1st place winner was Isabella Marrale (pictured with her English teacher, Mr. Hughes). Jason Wallen (pictured with his English teacher, Mrs. Lessing) and Abigail Kunz (not pictured) received Honorable Mentions.

College juniors, seniors, or graduate students earning a degree in areas of biological or
