The Woman’s Club of Massapequa celebrated its 90th Anniversary at a luncheon at the Riviera Catering of Massapequa. The first Club meeting was on October 14th, 1924 with 38 charter members. The Woman’s Club

of today has close to one hundred members. The luncheon was an outstanding event. Many of the women attending wore retro attire. Entertainment was provided by “Ms. New York Senior America,” who modeled vintage clothing.

Celebrating 90 Years Mr. Bill Colfer, President of the Massapequa Historical Society, presented a framed picture of the Woman’s Club taken in 1941. Several Citations for Outstanding Community Service were also presented by local elected officials.

FIRE PREVENTION MONTH - Cub Scout Pack 776’s Tiger Den 8 visited the Front Street Firehouse on October 16th to fulfill their requirement to visit a fire station. The Cub Scouts learned about fire prevention and safety. In addition, the Scouts received a CELEBRATING 90 YEARS - Pictured: Jill Edelson, Parlimentarian; Lucille station tour that included the fire trucks, ambulances and firefighter’s gear. Everyone Guarascio, First Vice President; Fran Bassett, Second Vice President; Mary Muhlkin, had a great time and left with a greater understanding of how firefighters help the Treasurer; Lynn Molloy, Recording Secretary; Maureen Larisch, Corresponding community. Thank you to the brave firefighters who protect our village! Secretary.
