Sign-up to Swim, Bike and Run at Hempstead Town’s Annual Beachside Triathlon Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin and the Town Board invite members of the public to register for the annual Town of Hempstead Triathlon. The triathlon is scheduled for September 25, 2021 at 8AM and will be held at Town Park Point Lookout, located at 1300 Lido Boulevard, Lido Beach, along the township’s south shore. The roughly 14-mile signature athletic event will allow participants to enjoy the beautiful coastal environs of America’s largest township while competing to be the firstplace finisher in the widely acclaimed competition. “The Town of Hempstead Triathlon is an amazing opportunity for fitness enthusiasts to enjoy our township’s beautiful south shore while

competing in this three part competition,” said Clavin. “I encourage all who wish to try their hand at completing this challenging feat to register now and join in on the fun.” The Town of Hempstead Triathlon, which comprises three separate events, will challenge participants during the roughly 14mile course. The 3/4mile ocean swim, 10-mile bike ride and 3-mile run will allow competitors to traverse scenic sections of the township’s coastline and travel through the quaint streets of Point Lookout as they seek to set records during this year’s competition. In addition to seeking the coveted first place finish spot, triathlon participants will be competing for awards based on age. The top 3

Located in Southaven County Park in Brookhaven (between exits 57 & 58 off Route 27) is the home of Long Island Live Steamers, a 501(c)3 nonproﬁt organization. They operate for the education and enjoyment of the public, and to preserve the history and wonderment of the glory days of railroading. All of their members are volunteers and very few of them are professional machinists, most of them are hobbyists. The uniting interest for them lies in steam power, railroad and having fun!
