Amityville Honors Board Trustees

The Amityville School District celebrated New York State School Boards Association’s School Board Recognition Week at their monthly meeting on Oct. 15.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Talbert commended each board member for their efforts in the Amityville school community.

“We are deeply grateful for your leadership, your time, your effort, your energy, and your unwavering commitment to our students, our staff

and our families,” Dr. Talbert said. “You represent the heart of public education, our educators, our classrooms and the hopes of our entire school community.”

Dr. Talbert recognized each board member with proclamations from Gov. Kathy Hochul and gifts for their contributions to the Amityville school community. Additionally, students from Northwest Elementary School and Northwest Elementary School crafted their own thank-

you cards to celebrate each board trustee. Additionally, members of Amityville Memorial High School’s Select Chamber Choir, under the direction of chorus teacher Mr. Joseph DeMato-Garcia, performed “For Good” from the Broadway musical. “Wicked.” The district would like to thank all of the board members for their dedication to the community.
