Robotics Competition

he robotics team at Plainedge Middle School has been preparing for its upcoming competition. Students have been meeting after school to perfect the programming, as well as complete the building of the robot. I managed to put toge ther senior busing on Wednesdays and Frida ys to start from the Primrose Lane Hous ing Complex, 65-unit senior condos, and the Wee k’s Road Apartments, a 55+ housing complex, to transport those resid en ts to the Sunset City Sh opping Plaza. This wa s necessitated by the closing of Pathmark, as these individuals, many of them seniors, now fo un d themselves having to cross Deer Park Aven ue and Woods Road to get to King Kullen, th e closest food store. The Town , working with the Ch amber, has agreed to provide bus transportation on these days to facilita te shopping. volleyball categories, and honored as the greatest volleyball player of the 20th Century. In 2012 Kiraly was named head coach of the US National Women’s Volleyball team to try to compete in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Growing up in a “volleyball family”, Gabriella has always enjoyed the sport and currently plays with her older sister Adriana. She plays for Massapequa High School Varsity Volleyball Team since 7th grade, and The Island Volleyball Academy club team. Gabriella also enjoys the same passion for basketball and plays for the MHS varsity team since 7th grade and Long Island Lightening club team. She plans on trying out for U.S.A. basketball team when she is age eligible in the years to come. Good luck Gabriella as you represent the U.S.A. and your local community of Massapequa.

My teammate passes me the ball; the opponents are jumping on top of me. They smell like smelly socks, and you can hear the dribbling noise of the ball as it is bounced on the ground. I had to cross the opponents over, and then I was about to shoot from the three-point line. I felt the rough rubber material with a flick of my wrist.
