As the students approached the front doors of their schools, they were greeted by their principals and congratulated for making the healthy choice to walk instead of being driven. Raising Funds In commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Babylon High School’s DECA club coordinated their annual charity car wash earlier this October. The event raised approximately $250 for the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition. These donations
will aid in the BBCC’s work to provide patient support services, education and advocacy programs, as well as the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Throughout the month, the school coordinated additional fundraisers and awareness campaign
events for the cause. The staff took part in a jeans day (participants made donations to wear jeans to school) and the senior high school student council organized an evening Breast Cancer Awareness walk.

It seems like just last week we were soaking up the last few rays of sun at the beach, our toes in the sand, the waves crashing ashore… and now we’re busy digging out boots and scarves and stocking up on all things pumpkin spice. Such is the circle of life, the cycle of seasons and the wonder of Mother Nature. Speaking of, “sources” claim this winter will be colder than normal, with
record snowfall yet again. Shocking. Really, do we need to start obsessing about the first flake from now? It is what it is; it will be what it will be – the end. Deal with it. Or don’t, and hibernate until March. The mass hysteria is beyond maddening, especially since most meteorologists can’t seem to predict the next day’s forecast, let alone an entire season’s worth.
