“Since 1989, the Dune Stabilization Project has been an immensely popular volunteer activity for residents of all ages,” Supervisor Venditto said. “The dunes in Tobay Beach continue to require ongoing support as environmentally damaging storms, particularly Hurricane Sandy, have had a significant impact upon

Early Bird Registration Continued From 3 the benefit of 15 to 20 hours of on-ice training and 6 to 8 hours of off-ice training. The program will be broken down into two levels, intermediate and advanced. The intermediate skills program is for ages 5 through 12 and will include 15 hours of onice training per week and over 8 hours of training per week off the rink. The advanced session is geared for travel players ages 6 through 14 and includes 20 hours of on-ice training and 6 hours of training per week off the ice. Both skill programs focus on shooting, passing, agility drills and field sports. Lunch every day is included. The Summer Hockey School sessions will be challenging, but will result in newly

developed skills for our young hockey players. Each class will be filled with useful tips and techniques to fully develop each student’s hockey playing abilities. Postscript By: Jamie Lynn Ryan I want to begin by expressing my sincere appreciation to all those readers who took the time to reach out in the last week to express condolences on the passing of my “Pal,” to relate to the sense of loss, to the closeness felt… but, mostly, to comment on how fortunate I was to share such a special bond with my grandfather and develop so many wonderful memories through the years. It is with that sentiment that I choose to pick up this week’s column. Meetings Available Online The Town of Oyster Bay, in an effort to further provide residents with more open and accessible government, has begun streaming Town Board meetings live on the internet. “With the new year upon us, my colleagues and I on the Town Board have made it a priority to provide residents with a Town government that is both more open and more accessible to them, beginning with making Town Board minutes and resolutions available

On March 12th, Cub Scout Pack 590 held its annual Blue and Gold Banquet at American Legion Post 1066, in Massapequa. “Along with the Pinewood Derby, the Blue and Gold is one of the highlights of the scouting year,” said Cubmaster Bill Leisen. “We get to have a lot of fun and honor our scouts who earned rank, as well as the parents who worked so hard throughout

FREEZIN’ FOR A REASON - The 3rd Annual “Freezin for a Reason” Town of Oyster Bay Polar Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics was recently held at Tobay Beach in Massapequa. The Polar Plunge will help provide year-round sports for more than 65,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities living in New York. All Kids Fair This year’s All Kids Fair will once again entertain families across Long Island. The popular annual event, in its sixth year, will take place on Sunday, April 10th, at the Melville Marriott. The All Kids Fair is a combination of education and activities expo and health and wellness fair. It offers entertainment choices for toddlers

through high school, including kids who have special needs or are gifted.Over 80 exhibitor spaces and 24 kids’ classes provide valuable information for kids and their parents and grandparents. Exhibitors will cover schools, camps, after school activities, birthday party ideas, college planning, photography
