BAY CONSTABLES HONORED FOR THEIR LIFESAVING EFFORTS Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Oyster Bay Town Board recently honored Town Bay Constables Joe Rogers and Taylor Plank for their lifesaving efforts to rescue a vessel in danger. While patrolling our North Shore, Officers Rogers and Plank received a call that a vessel was taking on water out on the harbor. They quickly sprang into action to secure the vessel, saving all passengers onboard, towing the vessel back to shore, and ensuring no one was injured in the process. Had it not been for the swift actions of these two Bay Constables, this situation could’ve ended very differently. Supervisor Saladino proudly commended Officers Plank and Rogers for demonstrating an ability to act quickly and skillfully when fellow citizens are in need.

Blue Umbrella Experience (BUE) is a local nonproﬁt organization that offers a variety of interactive and engaging community classes for youth, young adults and individuals through their Above and Beyond Community Class initiative. Responders To September 11th Memorial

Catholic Cemeteries of Long Island is offering families of victims and first responders to add loved ones’ names to its 9-11 Memorial as part of the 20th year remembrance of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks on America. The Memorial monument, located within Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, was erected in 2003 and currently displays the names of 414 individuals who were victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and individuals who worked to rescue and recover the victims at Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan. Family members who lost loved ones are encouraged to submit their names using

a special form with required information and attestation. The deceased’s full name and optionally, their profession or role, will be added to the memorial. All forms must be submitted and arrive by email or mail by July 31, 2021. The 10999 + TAX-

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board will host the 7th Annual “Shootout for Soldiers” 24-Hour Lacrosse Benefit Game at the Town of Oyster Bay’s Field of Dreams, located on Old Sunrise Highway in Massapequa. This year’s round-the-clock event begins on the morning of July 22nd at 9am and continues non-stop for 24 hours until July 23rd at 9am. The event benefits veterans and active duty military personnel. The Long Island Air Force Association will conduct a special ceremony on July 22nd at 5:00 pm to honor Vietnam veterans and present them with medals that commemorate their service in the conflict. Adding to the spectacle, will be a parachute landing on the field conducted by the “All Veterans Group,”

We are proud to tell you that we have selected Joseph Saladino as our Grand Marshal for this year, and he has accepted. We are most grateful for the Town’s cooperation in our Festival, and hope for good weather and a great participation by all. Please tell all of your friends to come down that day - as they are all tired of being cooped up by now! I congratulate all the members businesses that have children or grandchildren who graduated college or high school this year. If they received any scholarships, I applaud them and wish them the best. We have just secured two more grants for the Chamber. Patty Orzano is still working hard on these efforts, and we all owe her a debt of gratitude for all of her work in this area.
