Franchise owner, Sarina Jagtiani, has been working in Early Childhood Education for ten years and received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Early Childhood Education. As a wife and proud mother of two, Jagtiani understands the importance of quality childcare so when it came to staff development for her new center, Jagtiani surrounded herself with company of caliber. Kristy Roy, who is Jagtiani’s Center Director, has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 20 years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and

Berner Geography Bee Winner Berner Middle School Geography Bee champion Ken Zheng, an eighth grader, has qualified for the New York State National Geographic Geography Bee. He will take an online exam on March 27. All Berner students took a preliminary exam

in their social studies classes with 21 advancing to the school geography bee afterschool on Jan. 17. Following his victory, Ken took a qualifying exam and scored among the 100 students in New York to earn a spot as state semifinalist. He will vie for

He took the puppy in, fed him, and the whole unit fell in love with him, which brought them joy. He named him Jonsey, and the dog grew to feel like a part of his family. Now that he will be heading back to the United States, he can’t bear to leave him behind. Stray dogs in Afghanistan have a very rough life and often times are subjected to cruelty. Desperate to bring him back home with him

to live out his life and be a part of his larger family, he turned to Paws of War for assistance. The organization has a program in place that helps service members bring their dog home after being deployed to the Middle East. While they are always quick to help do what they can, they can’t do it alone. The Charity of The Month for March is: United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island www.ucp-li.org United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island is a non-profit organization with the mission to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. They have actively been serving those in need on Long Island for over 70 years!

Fundraising is also a very significant part of UCP, as it is with just about any other nonprofit organization. However, United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island is one of the most fiscally responsible agencies on our island because 92 cents of every dollar they receive goes back into their programs and services.

This organization, despite their name, helps individuals with a wide range of disabilities. In fact, over 65 percent of those they serve today do not have cerebral palsy. In addition to helping those with cerebral plasy, they currently are serving those with:

When It Can Be Smart To Hire A Painting Pro Few things can revitalize a home more readily than a fresh coat of paint.
