Senior advocates are County representatives who come out into the community and assist seniors with information gathering, completion of eligibility or recertification applications and referrals to appropriate community agencies. “This is an excellent chance for senior citizens to get the assistance and information they need by connecting with the County’s senior advocates right in their own communities,” said Legislator Donnelly. “I hope all those interested in the services that the Suffolk County Office for the Aging provides will take advantage

Sixth grader Anthony Russo from Robert Moses Middle School in the North Babylon School District was named a winner in 20222023 National School Bus Safety Poster Contest. The annual contest is sponsored by the National Association for Pupil Transportation, National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services, National School Transportation Association, and school bus manufacturers Blue Bird, IC Bus and Thomas Built Buses. Contest judges based their votes on safety impact, originality, artistic quality and visual impact. Russo captured second place in the grades 3-5 division. He submitted the piece last school year while in Donna McCabe’s fifth grade class at Parliament Place Elementary School.
