Rebuilding Together Long Island (RTLI) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is an affiliate of the national organization, Rebuilding Together. RTLI works yearround with their focus on keeping people safe in their home, as well as making sure that they have safe access into their home. While most of their clients are elderly, they will help anyone who meets their income guidelines and classify as low-income with limited assets. Additionally, they have a special program to help our deserving veterans in need. As a way to thank them for their service, they created the Hero Home Improvement Program, which aligns with their mission of repairing homes, revitalizing communities and rebuilding lives. This organization performs repairs including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and home modifications (including wheelchair ramps for the physically challenged), weatherization, installation of smoke alarms, back and front yard clean-ups and more. Since 1992 they have provided repairs to over 2,600 homeowners in need at a current pace of over 150 projects annually within Nassau and Suffolk. There are many ways that you can become involved with RTLI, whether that be individually or as a company! Corporate sponsors are a huge help to the organization and it can benefit your company greatly as well. Corporate sponsors are companies that make the decision to fund a RTLI project for someone in need. Their employees will be able to participate in hands on work with the project they sponsor so their company can

have the chance to take part in a team building and community leadership opportunity. When they become a corporate sponsor, companies will get to see immediate positive impact on the life of a senior, veteran, disabled individual or a family in need, while demonstrating their company’s commitment to community service and improving the quality of life right here on Long Island. These sponsors will also get acknowledged on the RTLI website, in their quarterly newsletter and on social media. Additionally, if you are a business professional and are interested in getting involved with Rebuilding Together Long Island, the opportunity is available. RTLI is now interviewing business professionals to become an integral part of their Advisory Board and help advance their mission, whether it be through financial contributions, in-kind donations, networking capabilities or another way. Lastly, this organization is looking for people to fill the following volunteer positions: Crew Members, Electricians, Plumbers and Home Visitors. Band Takes Home Silver Medal The North Babylon High School Concert band took home a silver award medal at the New York State School Music Association Majors Festival, which highlighted several talented ensembles from across Long Island. North Babylon was awarded the silver medal for demonstrating an

excellent level of technical and artistic skill. The band consisted of 90 members and was evaluated by two professional adjudicators on various musical concepts including balance, blend, tempo, style, dynamics and accuracy. The festival challenged the students to rehearse

and perform critically. They were constantly striving to create their most accurate and musical performance — a goal the ensemble accomplished at the festival. The district congratulates all band members on this wonderful accomplishment.

CAST RECOGNIZED WITH TEEN TONY AWARDS - Several West Babylon Senior High School student-actors were recognized for their performances in this year’s play “Little Shop of Horror” with Teen Tony Awards from the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts in June. The district congratulates the “urchins” for winning the Teens in Tune Award: Carissa Brock, Olivia Carucci, Anta Cisse-Graham, Julie Cooke and Katie Gennings. The students were asked to choose a West Babylon staff member who has greatly impacted their educational career to join them as their guest for the breakfast. “Your character, resilience and perseverance shine through in everything you do,” said West Babylon Superintendent of Schools Dr. Yiendhy Farrelly. “You have all excelled in the classroom, on the athletics field,
