Nassau’s Public Libraries Announce Digital Library Card • Fifty public libraries in Nassau County, are offering a digital-only library card • Residents of Nassau County who do not currently have a library card can get one at nassaulibrary.org/ digital-card-application • Anyone who has a local library card can utilize the digital resources of their local library, as well as the shared resources of the member libraries of the Nassau Library System, including ebooks, digital magazines, study support, and continuing education for children and adults. Get carded and use

the library anywhere! Nassau Library System, a cooperative of 54 independent public libraries serving Nassau County, is pleased to announce that fifty local libraries now offer a digital library card. This new tool will allow residents of Nassau County who do not already have a card to utilize the digital resources of their library while facilities are closed due to the spread of coronavirus. People can learn more at nassaulibrary. org/digital-card-application. Having access to library resources is essential for people at all stages of their lives, especially during times like these. Since public libraries across the County are currently closed,

The Hicksville School District is participating in the SCOPE Emergency Child Care Program, which offers tuition free childcare to families of workers identified as essential during the COVID-19 response. New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has determined that all businesses, with the exception of essential businesses, must remain closed. Therefore, the children of first responders and medical service providers, transit workers and other workers deemed essential by the state may attend these programs – tuition free. The SCOPE program

These types of coronaviruses have been around for quite some time and are not associated with the current outbreak. To protect yourself, your family, and possibly even

your pets, from this new coronavirus, you should follow these precautions: • Frequently wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water (use hand sanitizer with more than 60 percent alcohol if you can’t wash) • Avoid close contact with people who are sick—stay at least three feet away • Cover your mouth/ nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw away the used tissues and wash your hands • Stay at home if you are sick • Sanitize often-used surfaces in your home and office If you do become sick with COVID-19, how then should you care for your pet?
