Bethpage High School Students Focus On Their Futures Bethpage High School held their first career fair on March 6, inviting dozens of professionals to share their career experiences with students. Representatives from industries such as healthcare, marketing, education, finance and criminal justice were in attendance. Booths were set up in the school’s gym for each professional representative and informational sessions

with smaller groups of students were conducted throughout the day. Business teachers Anthony Murray and Nancy Simpson organized the event to expand students’ knowledge on possibilities for their futures after graduation. Assistant Principal Ralph Tocco and Principal Nicholas Jantz, as well as student members of Virtual Enterprise, also assisted with set up and

activities throughout the day. “We appreciate all of our presenters, many being alumni, who came out to share their expertise with students,” said Assistant Superintendent Mike Spence. “Career Day at Bethpage High School gave our students a glimpse into possible future careers and the path needed to get there.”

They have actively been serving those in need on Long Island for over 70 years!

This organization, despite their name, helps individuals with a wide range of disabilities. In fact, over 65 percent of those they serve today do not have cerebral palsy. They are equipped to serve those with Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Disorders, Autism, Epilepsy, Spina Bifida, Traumatic Brain Injury, Sensory Impairments, Chronic Physical/ Medical Conditions and Tourette Syndrome, among others.

Katelyn Harold from the Bethpage UFSD, who also attends Nassau BOCES Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA), was inducted recently into The International Thespian Society (ITS) and the Tri-M National Music Honor Society. She was recognized not only for her extraordinary artistic talent, but also for her academic achievements

and leadership. Katelyn was inducted International Thespian Society for her achievements in theater arts. The minimum eligibility requirement for Thespian induction is one hundred hours of quality work in theater and related disciplines, along with a good academic standing (a GPA of 3.0 or better). The Tri-M Music Honor Society,

formerly known as Modern Music Masters, is part of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
