At the April Town Board meeting, Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Town Board celebrated
11 future leaders who have demonstrated academic excellence and made positive contributions to their community. These students
shine as role models in their schools and communities. The Town welcomed the students as well as their friends, family, and the
school staff, who have done their utmost to support these wonderfully bright young individuals.
Students from high
schools across Islip were recognized for their academic achievement and commitment to community service through volunteerism and civic engagement. Those honored included: Brianna Gutierrez, Jalline Guevara, Garrett Clark, Kailey Bruckner, Kayaani Borrero, Emily Dwyer, Leah Bharat, Kaylee Carberry, Angel Taveras, Hailey Grieve, and Leighann McDermott.

A Quick Reminder: Town Of Islip’s Tax Deadline Is Around The Corner
Andy Wittman, the Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Islip, reminds all Islip Taxpayers that the second half of property taxes are due, on or before May 31, 2026.
THE LAST DAY FOR PAYMENT OF THE 2025-2026 PROPERTY TAXES at this office will be MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2026. After that date, taxes plus penalty and interest must be paid to the Suffolk County Comptroller’s Office in Riverhead, NY.
The Islip Tax Office is located at 40 Nassau Avenue Islip, NY 11751. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am –4:30pm. We will be open late on MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2026, from 8:30am – 7:00pm for in-person payments. Our office will be closed on MONDAY, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
For your convenience, please see our Online Payment Portal, at https://Tax. IslipNY.gov which is a secure and accessible way of paying property taxes in the Town of Islip. This portal is available to PROPERTY OWNERS only. Please consider using this option in lieu of mailing in your payment.
Hope For The Warriors’ 30x30 Memorial Day Challenge
Registration is open for the Hope For The Warriors 30x30 Memorial Day Challenge, a free virtual wellness event focused on physical and emotional well-being while honoring U.S. service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Hosted by Craig Conover, a Bravo television personality and Hope For The Warriors board council member, the challenge runs May 1–30. Participants commit to at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day for 30 consecutive days. Activities may include walking, running, hiking, swimming, strength training, or dancing.
Individuals and
teams can register at hopeforthewarriors.org.
Participants may log daily activity through the website to track cumulative progress and earn up to 30 mission points each day. Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants at the conclusion of the challenge.
Participants will receive twice-weekly emails offering motivation, wellness tips, and ideas to support sustained physical and mental health. In addition, signing up for the 30x30 challenge provides access to the Hope For The Warriors’ sports and recreation resource library, which contains
exercise demonstrations, healthy eating tips, and mindfulness activities.
“The 30x30 Memorial Day Challenge continues to be a powerful way for people to come together
in a meaningful way,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and CEO of Hope For The Warriors.
“Its virtual format allows participants everywhere to honor our military
community through a shared commitment to wellness and remembrance.”
