“Are you looking to apply or renew your passport? You can visit Town Hall during Passport Weekend to receive free assistance in preparing your application, organizing your documents, obtaining a photo and submitting the documents for approval.” Requirements for applying for a passport include:

• One 2x2 color photograph with a clear view of the applicant’s face against a plain white or light colored background. Pa l - O - M i n e Equestrian is a comprehensive therapeutic equine program that uses horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing for individuals with disabilities and for other vulnerable populations that was founded by Lisa Gatti. Located at 829 Old Nichols Road in Islandia, Pal-O-Mine grew from having two programs, eight horses and 80 students per week to 11 programs, 25 horses and 400 students per week. This organization sits on eight acres, with a 20-stall barn, handicapped accessible bathrooms, a new 100’ x 120’ indoor arena with stateof-the-art footing and a rider hoisting system, and three outdoor riding arenas. Individuals of all ages are welcome to take part in the programs they offer. They operate with five full-time employees, 35 independent contractors and 80 volunteers a week. Their riding instructors have experience with the following diagnoses: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Neurological Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Genetic Disorders and Emotional Disturbances.They also offer group programs, individual lessons, corporate workshops and a program specifically designed for military members. In honor of Veteran’s Day, Pal-O-Mine wants you to know just how they can help those who have served in our military, along with those who are still serving our nation. For more than four thousand years, horses have been an integral part of warfare. Today, horses are still playing an important role in war, this time in the recovery of military veterans who have suffered emotional and/ or physical injuries. Pal-O-Mine Equestrian is an EAGALA Designed Military Program.This designation asserts that EAGALA Certified Professionals working with the military have specialized training and experience in the military community. Sessions at the farm are action, not talk and they offer individual, group and family sessions. Pal-O-Mine offers programs to Verterans from Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan and for Service men and women who fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom,

Operation New Dawn, Operation Enduring Freedom and for Active Duty Service Members. It’s not always easy to ask for help, but the benefits of doing so outweigh the fear. One military member who received help from this organizaiton mentioned the following, “For someone in the military like me, it’s hard to swallow my pride and ask for help. This was a safe environment to open up in. In July of 2020 I engaged Michele and Mark Goodman as real estate agents for the sale of my house in Massapequa Park, N.Y. Their advice for getting the house ready for viewing was spot on. Some decluttering and a coat of paint and we were ready to start. The first step was to set the price right, low enough to get potential buyers interested but not so low as to wind up selling under market value. The price was set and in one week & we had so many potential buyers in to view the house that I lost count. In that one week we received almost a dozen offers, most over asking price. After selecting a buyer (significantly over asking price), but before proceeding, Michele and Mark checked the buyer’s financials to make sure that he would be able to get the necessary financing for the purchase. Mark did most of the showings and was excellent. I showed him various improvements that I had done to the house and he made sure to point them out to buyers. Due to the COVID-19 Virus and for our safety, Mark made the showings by appointment only, had potential buyers fill out a Covid-19 Disclosure, Health & Safety Questionnaire, wear Masks/Gloves and did all of the opening and closing of doors himself. Mark has the personality to make people comfortable and to connect with them and I believe that this helped significantly.
