The Massapequa Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Gluten Free Treat Shop to the community with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Chamber members, local residents, and supporters gathered to celebrate the opening of the new business, which offers a variety of gluten-free baked goods and treats for the community to enjoy. The shop is located at 518 Broadway in Massapequa. On hand for the celebration were owner Jenna Vanacore; Massapequa Chamber President Robin Hepworth; First Vice President Sal Polito; Treasurer Karen Gawyrch; Board of Directors members Randi Jankowski, Tom Antonetti, and Isabelle Rapacciuolo; and Nassau County Legislator James Kennedy.

This 6-week program offers sports classes at the Hicksville Athletic Center for children ages 3 and 4. “The Town’s Toddler Sports Program is a fantastic way to teach your toddler the fundamentals of sports in a fun and social environment,” said Councilwoman Maier. “This program is sure to be a hit with children and parents alike, as youngsters are given the opportunity to learn the basics of various different sports such as tee-ball, flag football and more along with children their own age.” The Toddler Sports Program begins April 14th and is 6 weeks in duration. February 2026 Dear Fellow Chamber Members and Residents of the Massapequa’s, After what felt like an endless stretch of snowstorms and the recent blizzard, I think many of us are more than ready to say goodbye to winter. Having raised my two boys here in Massapequa, some of my favorite memories have always been the community events that bring our neighbors together. As we head into March, the Chamber has already been busy recognizing the people who make our community so special. We recently honored our local heroes at our Annual Firefighters of the Year Awards Luncheon, where we had the privilege of recognizing three outstanding firefighters from the Massapequa and North Massapequa Fire Departments. Their dedication and service to our community are truly commendable, and we thank them for their bravery and commitment. This year, anyone looking to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and stay warm in the process, can enjoy this recipe for “Irish Stew With Lamb and Potatoes” courtesy of Lines+Angles.
Irish Stew With Lamb and Potatoes Serves 6 3

1. Heat the oil in a large pot and sear the meat. Remove from the pan and set aside.
