The Village of Lindenhurst has received grants from NYS Senator Phil Boyle and Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey to construct an addition to the Old Village Hall museum. The museum was moved from South Wellwood Avenue to South Broadway a few years ago to allow for the expansion of the Main Fire House. The improvements to the Old Village Hall museum have included a new, reconstructed roof, new heating and air conditioning system, handicap-accessible amenities that include kitchenette and bathroom, and leader and gutter draining into leaching basin. Mayor Michael Lavorata said, “It is essential that we work hard to preserve the history of our Lindenhurst Village and making these improvements is a big step to meeting that goal.” Deputy Mayor Maryann Weckerle, also an officer

of the Lindenhurst some major improvements museum restored and open Historical Society, said, to the museum, and I to the public as soon as “The Village has made look forward to seeing the possible.”

Whenever there is a violation of traffic law by a bicycle operator or a violation by a motorist that endangers a bicycle operator, the court may permit demonstration of successful completion of a court-approved cycling knowledge course or test in lieu of or in addition to a fine or other penalty. §37-2. Operation on roadways. A. Persons riding bicycles upon a roadway shall ride not more than two abreast in a single lane, except on paths or parts of roadways set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles. B. Every person operating a bicycle upon a roadway shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practicable, and with the ﬂow of traffic, obeying all traffic rules applicable to vehicles and exercising due care when passing a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the same direction. C. This section does not require a person operating a bicycle to ride at the edge of the roadway when it is unreasonable or unsafe to do so. Conditions that

The Cemetery of Lost Souls is a grass roots organization that gears up each year to create an elaborate Haunted House on the founder’s property, located at 350 Broadway in Massapequa Park. E v e r y bit of money raised through their annual event (admission, donations, sponsorships, etc.) is given to a chosen charity. They have raised a lot of money over the years in donations alone and have donated to charities such as Autism Speaks, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Long Island Cares. This year they will bring the community a new interactive experience with the second Lost Souls Walk-Thru haunt, new rooms, new scares and new thrills! The remaining events will run on October 25-26, 31 and November 1-2 from 7PM-11:30PM. The chosen charity for 2019 is Melissa’s Wish, a non-profit organization founded with the purpose of providing short term, non-medical financial aid in the form of a grant to caregivers who are assisting those afflicted with a serious illness, injury or end of life event. This homegrown haunt has been up and running for a few weeks so far this year and visitors have only good things to say! Below are some recent reviews:
