faithfully, and diligently performed their duties and rendered invaluable service to our Lindenhurst Community. Therefore, as Mayor of the Village of Lindenhurst, with the unanimous support of the Village Board, I designated April 23, 2021 as a day to celebrate and thank the Chemical & Salvage

Hope House Ministries is a non-profit organization located in Port Jefferson. They provide compassionate, comprehensive and competent care for the poor, the marginal and the wounded among us. This commitment is woven in the Gospel vision that all life is sacred and every human person is unique and has the right to be respected and protected. Their mission is founded in the spirit of St. Louis de Montfort, who had a commitment to the poor and the courage to do what no one else had the courage to do. They have accomplished much over the 40+ years they have been helping others with minimal financial assistance from federal, state or county agencies. They depend on the generosity of private contributions, fundraising events and corporate donations. Hope House Ministries services people in both Nassau County and Suffolk County, offering services free of charge. Together, their staff and volunteers have created an empowering sense of family and community that are the change agents, helping young people grow in self-discipline, critical thinking, problem solving skills and personal responsibility. Hope House Ministries was founded by Fr. Francis Pizzarelli, SMM, LCSW-R, ACSW, DCSW. 41 years ago, Fr. Francis discovered hundreds of youth who were homeless, experiencing mental health issues and living with addictions and it wasn’t long before he realized that neither government nor faith communities were doing enough to meet the crisis of homelessness. He formed Hope House Ministries and it has grown into an amazing organization that has provided for the needs of over 500,000 individuals. Hope House Ministries offers
many programs, such as their Community House, Hope Academy, Montfort Therapeutic Residence, Pax Christi Hospitality Center, St. Maximillian Kolbe Outpatient Addictions Treatment Center, Wisdom House and much more. If you are homeless and in need of shelter, hungry and cannot afford food, are homeless and think you may have a mental illness, are homeless and are HIV Positive, are a homeless Vet, are a woman seeking safety from an abusive relationship, seeking professional counseling for yourself or a friend, have an addiction and need help, seeking professional help with parenting your child, are seeking prayer for a challenging issue or need to speak to a person about a mental health crisis you are having, Hope House Ministries can assist you in getting help in 3 easy steps. A 2011 analysis published in the journal BBA Molecular Basis of Disease found that leisure activities have a positive impact on cognitive function and dementia. New York Blood Center Announces A Blood Emergency year since these groups had to cancel their blood drives due to COVID-19 and few have been able to resume these life-saving events. NYBC currently has a 4 day supply of blood, which is well below what is needed by area hospitals. New York’s healthcare system requires 1,500
donations each day to treat patients ranging from trauma victims to newborn babies and their mothers to cancer patients. Donors with type O and type B blood are especially needed as NYBC currently has a 1-2 day supply of these blood types. “With thousands of

Why does NY State have such restrictive guidelines for animal hospitals?

The NY State government has put detailed guidelines in place for all businesses, not just veterinarians. For example, medical facilities are required to screen patients before admitting them into the facility.
However right now we are required to follow guidelines issued by New York State that state “Curbside intake and pickup of animals should be used, wherever practical, to minimize the numbers of clients in waiting areas and exam rooms.”* Although that creates a lot of extra work for our staff, we are committed to complying with the NY State safety guidelines during the COVID-19 crisis, and to protect our client’s health and safety. *Exceptions can be made in situations like euthanasia
Are these still necessary? Restrictions are lifted on other things. By July 2020, restrictions like curbside check-in have helped reduce the number of people diagnosed with COVID-19 in New York State down from over 10,000 a day to below 1,000. At the same time we have seen infections rise dramatically in other states who had fewer restrictions.

When used in this Article, the following shall mean: EVENT A single event or activity where food or food samples are distributed to the public, with or without charge, that operates for a period of time not to exceed three (3) consecutive days and not more than twelve (12) days in any particular month. SPONSOR The person or organization that organizes, controls and manages the event at which a temporary food service establishment provides food service. TEMPORARY FOOD SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT An individual food service establishment operating from a booth, stand, vehicle, or cart, in a fixed public or private, indoor or outdoor location, at an event, where foods are stored, prepared or held for service to the public. A temporary food service establishment shall also mean a person who vends, dispenses or distributes pre-packaged or other nonpotentially hazardous foods from a container or other equipment approved by the Village Administrator or his designee that is carried upon his or her person at an event. §174-3. Permit Required. It shall be necessary for any individual or organization that wishes to operate as a temporary food establishment to acquire a permit from the Village Administrator or his designee approved by resolution of the Village Board. §174-4. On all applications to the Village Administrator for permits in addition to other specific requirements, the Village Administrator or his designee shall consider the health, safety, convenience and general welfare of the Village. The standards to be considered by the Village Administrator or his designee in making its determination of any matter under this chapter are whether the granting of the permit will be in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the chapter, in accordance with the comprehensive plan and design set forth in the chapter, to lessen congestion in the streets, to secure safety from fire, panic and other dangers, circumstances of the applicant to provide adequate light and air, to prevent the overcrowding of land, to avoid undue concentration of population, to facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewage, off-street parking, parks and other public requirements; and in accordance with reasonable consideration, among other things, as to the character of the district and its peculiar suitability for the particular use; and with a view to conserving the value of buildings and land and encouraging the most appropriate use of land throughout the municipality. Any issued permit is subject to revocation by the Village Administrator or his designee, and any requested permit may be denied in the event it is determined the use is the subject of legitimate concerns for the public’s health, safety and general well-being. Any permanent revocation or the denial of any permit shall be subject to appeal by the applicant to the Village Board with an opportunity for the applicant to be heard at a public meeting of the Board of Trustees.

If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this article shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof but shall be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part thereof directly involved in said judgment. LI’s Montauk Point Lighthouse Was New York’s FIRST Lighthouse & Is On National Historic Landmark Listing & Adjacent To Prized State Park & Museum
Citing mere feet to go before potentially being lost to the Atlantic Ocean, U.S. Senator Charles Schumer recently announced, after a call with the Army Corps of Engineers, that work to protect the Montauk Point Lighthouse will officially begin in May. Schumer, said starting in May is critical to protecting the historic structure. The lighthouse, a 1796 project propelled by George Washington, once stood hundreds of feet from the Atlantic coast, but over time, it has inched closer and closer to the water’s
Society, more than 100,000 visitors visit the lighthouse each year, even amid the pandemic. According to the State, In 1996, the U.S. Coast Guard transferred ownership of the historic site to the Montauk Historical Society, which now operates and owns the property. The Montauk Historical Society is dedicated to the protection, preservation, and educational development of this nationally significant landmark and has maintained the revetment since the early 1990s. The lighthouse complex bluff is located adjacent to the Montauk Point State Park and is primarily used by fishermen, surfers, and sightseers. “The illuminating point here is that these federal Army Corps funds made the Montauk Point Lighthouse protection project happen, and they could not come soon enough,” Schumer added. “Now, one of our great jewels shining proudly on Long Island’s coastal crown will remain in place for years to come, and it ‘shore’ is pretty.”

pandemic, during which hundreds of nurses have died from the virus while countless others have contracted it before eventually returning to work to continue helping those in need. This year, individuals, community leaders and privately held businesses can come together during National Nurses Week to celebrate the important work nurses do and the bravery they’ve shown while confronting one of the most devastating pandemics in history.

First Constructed In 1796, The Site Has Become Dangerous For Visitors To The East End & Could Have Easily Been Lost To The Atlantic Ocean Without Fed Funds
edge, where it now stands in peril. “We have come a long way since 1796,” said U.S. Senator Charles Schumer. “However, so has the historic Montauk Point Lighthouse, slipping ever closer to the Atlantic’s waters, but with fed funds en route and construction to start, we will restore the shoreline protections needed to keep this beacon of Long Island pride and tourism shining for years to come.” As reported by Newsday, H&L Contracting of Bay Shore was awarded the contract for the project. The plan will remove and reuse existing five and ten-ton armor stones and add additional ones along the shore to protect the lighthouse. The project will also help stabilize the slope of where the lighthouse stands with terracing and vegetation installation. The State Department of Environmental Conservation has committed $15.4M to the project and the Montauk Historical Society will continue to maintain the site once the project is finished. your statements: Examine every charge on your statement before paying. Your receipts provide a great cross-reference check and guard against suspicious activity. You have 30 days from the date of your statement to notify your financial institution of any discrepancies; otherwise, you can be liable for any purchases. • Protect your computer when online shopping: Make
sure your security patch and anti-virus software are updated regularly. Consider technology to protect against potential viruses. • Watch where you shop online: Look for the lock icon on the site’s browser status bar, a sign that that site is safe. If you have never heard of a website before, see if it has security precautions in place and isn’t a fake site set up by identity thieves. •Don’t write checks:
