BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst as follows: Chapter 67 Article VI Feeding of Waterfowl of the Code of the Village of Lindenhurst is hereby created and reads as follows: ___________________________ Legislative Intent It is the purpose of this chapter to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the community by prohibiting the feeding of waterfowl on Village of Lindenhurst property. Feeding waterfowl increases the potential for damage to the public, may cause water quality problems, may be harmful to wildlife, and may increase the potential for the spread of disease to residents caused by increased rodent populations.

§ 67-29. Feeding of waterfowl on Village property prohibited It shall be unlawful for any person to feed any waterfowl or pigeon within any Village of Lindenhurst park. §67-30. Penalties for offenses. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine or penalty of not less than $100 and not more than $500. Any subsequent offense occurring within five years of the first offense shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $250, nor more than $750. § 67-31. Applicability.

As used in this chapter, the following definitions shall apply: DOMESTIC WATERFOWL

Effective Date.

Students at Lindenhurst High School have been “breaking out” with a fun, new math-related activity available for them to take part in. Breakout Boxes are a recently developed educational game at the school’s library that allows groups of students to engage with a series of math puzzles to open a series of locks and gain access to a box with a prize inside. The activity is designed in the spirit of an escape room. A collaborative effort with the school’s librarians, the Breakout Box activities are designed to incorporate a number of different math concepts such as geometric transformations and L’Hopital’s Rule. Each includes five questions and associated sub questions that give students the opportunity to delve deeper into the mathematical concepts and apply their understanding. Each correctly answered question provides part of a code necessary to unlock one of the box’s locks. The Breakout Boxes are a collaborative activity, and

Mercy Soup Kitchen Seeking Volunteers “For I Was Hungry And You Gave Me Food…” Matthew 25:35 It is an exciting time at the Mercy Soup Kitchen of Wyandanch as it is preparing to launch its new and expanded post Covid operation. Located in the basement of Trinity Lutheran Church at 17 South 20th Street, the Kitchen served its first meal to hungry people in 1980 and currently serves an average of 108 people per day. During the pandemic, however, Kitchen procedures had to be modified in order to provide hot, nourishing meals safely and continuously to those in need. Indoor sit-down dining was discontinued and only take-out dining

But today the Kitchen is posing for a postCovid reopening – a reorganizational rebirth of sorts – where Kitchen procedures can finally return to again offering guests dignified, indoor sitdown dining.
