On June 12th, Legislator RJ Renna proudly joined the Village of Babylon Historical & Preservation Society and Babylon Village Arts Council for a collaborative celebration marking the 250th Anniversary of the United States!
During Thursday’s opening reception, the Historical Society presented a new exhibition featuring artifacts and images spanning 150 years of Babylon and national history!
The Babylon Village Arts Council also presented “FLAGS”, a dynamic exhibition showcasing artwork by local artists in a variety of media. Both displays will be on view throughout the summer, so make it a point to stop by the Museum soon! The Historical Society Museum is located at 117 W Main Street in Babylon and is open from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Liberty Day!
Please join the Village of Lindenhurst in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary at Lindenhurst Liberty Day on July 11th from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM!
The event kicks off at 12:00 PM at Village Square Park with a live reading of the Declaration of Independence, a George Washington costume contest for kids and adults, and family-friendly crafts and games.
From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a Colonial Crawl Walking History Tour will take place throughout downtown Lindenhurst. Participating businesses will each represent a different time period in American history, with docents stationed at each stop sharing information about national events during that era and how they connected to life here in Lindenhurst. The first 250 attendees will receive a commemorative sash and a themed pin at each stop. Patriotic dress and costumes are encouraged – come dressed as your favorite decade!
From 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation “Revisit the Revolution” traveling exhibit will be on display at the Knights of Columbus building, located just a few shorts blocks from the downtown at 185 North Broadway. This exhibit explores the role of New York in the American Revolution, including some specially curated artifacts used during the war.
To close out the day, Robert Fantel Music will perform a concert in Village Square Park from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

Knights Of Columbus Raise Funds For St. Jude’s
The Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Perpetual Help Council 794 proudly hosted its Third Annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Fundraiser at Pino’s Wine Bar in Lindenhurst, bringing together residents, local businesses, and community leaders for another successful evening benefiting children and families in need.
The event was graciously hosted by Brother Knight Anthony Cucinella, owner of Pino’s Wine Bar, whose continued generosity has helped make the annual fundraiser a community tradition. Serving as Honorary Chairman was Lindenhurst Mayor Mike
Lavorata, while Lindenhurst GOP Chairman Joseph Barone returned as the event’s major sponsor, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to supporting charitable causes throughout the community.
Guests enjoyed an evening of food, fellowship, raffles, and fundraising, with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its mission of ensuring that no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
Adding to the generosity of the evening, Nicole Sutch donated her winnings from the event’s 50/50 raffle back to the fundraiser, further
increasing the total amount raised for St. Jude’s.
“Our Third Annual St. Jude fundraiser is another outstanding example of what can be accomplished when our local businesses, elected officials, community organizations, and residents come together for a common purpose,” said Grand Knight Patrick Corcoran. “We are incredibly grateful to Anthony for once again opening his doors, Mayor Mike for serving as our Honorary Chairman, Joseph Barone for his generous sponsorship, and Nicole for her remarkable act of generosity in donating her 50/50 winnings back to the cause. The Kiwanis Club of Lindenhurst honored Emma Ehrlich, a fifth-grade student at William Rall Elementary School, as a Terrific Kid. The program, established by Kiwanis International, promotes character development, self-esteem, and perseverance. Students are nominated by their principals and teachers for achieving a personal best goal. “Emma approaches each day with a positive attitude and a willingness to try new things,” according to her principal, Farrah McKenna.
