Their mission is to end homelessness on Long Island and alleviate the issues associated with homelessness and poverty for homeless and at risk persons in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

LICH runs a local Boutique that gives people in need a chance to come and pick out clothes and other essential items, all for free. With the help of generous people, they collect items year-round for people experiencing homelessness.

Upon entering the boutique, you can expect to ﬁnd clothing, nonperishable food, new bedding and pillows, personal care and feminine care items, toiletries and much more! The clothing options can range from casual to business attire and there is clothing available in all sizes; infant through adult.

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino has announced that the Raynham Hall Museum will host its 5th Annual “Ghost Walk”, a costumed parade featuring giant ghostly puppets of ancient Townsend family members being led by costumed paraders and their fourlegged friends. The spooky seasonal event, which takes place on Saturday,

October 30th, beginning at 7:30pm, will kick off at the Christ Church Rectory at 61 East Main Street in Oyster Bay, and proceed through the hamlet and conclude at Raynham Hall Museum. “The preservation of our history and the ability to educate our children on the past is so incredibly important and here in the Town of Oyster Bay, we

are blessed with historical treasures such as the Raynham Hall Museum,” stated Supervisor Saladino. “Raynham Hall hosts many historical and educational programs throughout the year, and I am pleased that the Town will be able to assist Raynham Hall with their annual ‘Ghost Walk,’ a fun tradition for children and families here that once again spotlights

the amazing historical treasure that is the hamlet of Oyster Bay!” The “Ghost Walk” will feature entertainment in the form of two colonialdressed stilt walkers that will parade with revelers, in addition to the giant ghostly puppets of ancient Townsend family members, designed and built by Superior Concept Monsters, Inc. Saladino And Town Board To Collect DVDs For U.S. Troops & Kids With Cancer Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board today announced a partnership with Massapequa-based “Big Hy for Heroes” in an effort to collect DVDs for those deployed and serving overseas in the United States Armed Forces as well as children’s movies for kids with cancer at local hospitals. Donations will be accepted through October 29th and then delivered to Chaplains, Commanding Officers, Sergeant Majors and Sergeants around the globe to distribute to troops and arrange movie nights this holiday season. Supervisor Saladino stated, “The Town of Oyster Bay is proud to

partner with Big Hy for Heroes to send thousands of DVDs to troops serving around the globe as well as children with cancer in local hospitals. Help support these brave men, women and children by donating DVDs.” The Big Hy for Heroes organization was founded in 2002 by Massapequa resident and WWII veteran Hyman Strachman who, along with his son Arthur Strachman, personally began sending DVDs to U.S. troops overseas. Over the years, Big Hy for Heroes has shipped hundreds of thousands of DVDs all around the world, and continues to do so today. Exciting, suspenseful,

comedy and classic DVDs are among the most requested by the troops for movie nights. Children’s movies are needed for local hospitals.
