TOWN MAKES SEASON BRIGHT FOR SALVATION ARMY ANGELS!

Dozens of toys were picked up from Islip Town Hall and delivered to the Salvation Army, for distribution to the organization's Angel Tree recipients. Town of Islip employees went above and beyond, buying toys, clothes, shoes and games from the wish lists of 60 Salvation Army Angels. Employees placed the unwrapped items in Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter's office, where they were collected by Santa's elves and given to families registered with the Angel Tree program. The Town of Islip has been participating in the Salvation Army Angel Tree program since 2015, when Supervisor Carpenter took office. "It is truly heartwarming to "adopt" these angels, and to know that you're ensuring a very Merry Christmas for a child," said Islip Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.

Receiver Of Taxes Announces Extended And Holiday Hours

First Half Property Taxes Due On Or Before January 10, 2024 Islip Town Receiver of Taxes, Andy Wittman, has announced that his office, located at 40 Nassau Avenue, Islip, NY is accepting payment of the 2023/2024 taxes starting Monday, December 11 2023. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the following exceptions: On December 29th the office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. On December 22th, December 25th and January

1st, 2024 the office will be closed. “One evening in January has been set aside for those residents who are unable to pay in person during our regular office hours”, said Mr. Wittman. “On Wednesday, January 10th, the office will remain open until 7:00 p.m.” Tax bills are being mailed out the week of December 11th. Residents can choose to pay their taxes by visiting the Receiver of Taxes Online Payment Portal, Tax.IslipNY.

Sebastian Regis Awarded Three Major Trophies East Islip High School senior Sebastian Regis has won the 64th annual Hansen Award, presented by Newsday to the most outstanding player in Suffolk County, and is the first Suffolk lineman in 38 years to achieve this prize. Regis was also honored with a unanimous selection for the 13th annual Rob Burnett Award, for Suffolk’s Defensive Player of the Year; as well as

the Zellner Award, given to the best lineman in Suffolk County. Accompanied by coach Sal Ciampi Jr. and parents Milton and Melissa Regis, he was presented with the accolades at the Suffolk County Football Coaches Association dinner, held on Dec. 4 at the Hyatt in Hauppauge. Regis, an exceptional defensive tackle and offensive lineman, captained East Islip to

the Long Island Class III championship in November, earning seven tackles and a sack in that game against South Side. His impressive high school football career totals include 101 tackles, 11 sacks, four forced fumbles and five blocked extra points. A two-sport athlete, Regis is also the defending New York State wrestling champion at 285 pounds.

TWO BUCCANEERS BREAK ISLIP HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RECORDS - Two impressive Islip High School football players broke school records during the Bucs’ fall season. Brady Nash broke both the single game passing yard record, with 378 yards, and the all-purpose yards record, with 556 yards.
