Physicians from The Cancer Institute at Good Samaritan Hospital will host a “mock tumor board”, exhibiting the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. $20 per person includes a sherpa lined throw and tote bag! Online Psychic Night: Join others for a gallery style reading as Georgia Rose channels messages from the other side! This will be a virtual event on February 19th at 7pm. Registration is $20 and those who will attend have the opportunity to partake in a raffle with great prizes! Scavenger Hunt Bingo: Play 5 rounds of Bingo from home! This virtual event is only $10 per person, which includes your first Bingo card (extra cards are $5 each). There is lots of fun to be had in this unique experinece on February 25th at 7:15pm. The Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition (BBCC) was founded in 1993 by three friends who lived in Babylon. Determined to fight against breast cancer by raising awareness and educating women, the BBCC with their dedicated volunteers undertook the task of completing a demographic survey to ascertain the incidence of breast cancer in Babylon. From this, a volunteer driven grass-roots organization grew, which serves the entire Township of Babylon, including those with all gynecological cancers in addition to those with breast cancer. Today they provide direct patient services and support to help ease the burdens that breast and all gynecological cancers put on patients and their families/caregivers. In addition to assisting in the basic needs of those battling cancer, they also reach out to the community at large, providing educational programs to encourage healthier lifestyles, which would decrease the still very high instance of these cancers in our community. Please note, if you do not live in this township, you can still reach out to the BBCC to find out who in your area can be of help to you. The BBCC’s premier program is titled Lend a Helping Hand (LAHH). Since its inception in 1996, this unique patient service program provides much needed stress relief for breast cancer patients currently in treatment, as well as their families confronting diagnosis and ensuing treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation. Later on, the BBCC expanded the LAHH program to include Babylon Township women undergoing treatment for all types of gynecological cancers. Some of the services this program offers include house cleaning, transportation to/from medical appointments, financial

Dr. Hardoon will lead the division as Chief of Supportive and Palliative care. “ Palliative Care gives me the opportunity to know my patients as people first rather than as a diagnosis,” Dr. Hardoon said. “I have always cared for patients as if they were part of my family and that is the philosophy at NYCBS.” Palliative care is a medical discipline aimed at improving the quality of life for patients with a serious, life-limiting, and advanced illness. NYCBS’ expansion in the integration of palliative care seeks to enhance the quality of the care patients receive by focusing on what their goals of care and treatment are. Dr. Hardoon is a graduate of Stony Brook University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts with a Minor in Biology. He obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency in the Department of Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Hardoon completed his fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, and for the past 3.5 years was a Palliative Care Attending Physician and serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein School of Medicine. “I am excited to be part of a team that aims to ensure the emotional, physical, and spiritual
