Frank Cresciullo and Dominique Guttadauria were announced as this year’s homecoming king and queen, taking a celebratory truck tour

around the stadium. Rounding out the homecoming court were Ahmed Abdeltawab, Ryan Brennan, Tara Englehardt, Kayla Rios, Dan Sciabarassi, Alvin Sime, Stephanie Sinka and Kellee Washington. Performers rousing the crowd included the marching band, the high school and Robert Frost Middle School kicklines, and cheerleaders from the high school, middle school and PAL. When it came time for football, the varsity Falcons came out strong, staking out a 21-7 lead against Half Hollow Hills East in a back-and-forth contest full of recovered fumbles and interceptions on both sides. While Deer Park came up short in the end, losing a 22-21 nail biter, the day was an exciting one for the entire community.

The ceremony was held at the United Methodist Church, and was attended by Sean’s proud family and fellow Scouts, as well as officials and representatives from state and local government. In order to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout,

each candidate must successfully complete a service project in their community. These projects require the candidate to first determine a particular need in the community, then he must apply the skillsets acquired over the course of his scouting career to address it by locating the resources and managing the execution. Not only are the young man’s skills put to the test, but he further develops the leadership skills that will carry on well into adulthood. For his project, Sean chose to help protect the local environment, while also doing his part to redo the damage left after Superstorm Sandy. United Way Donation The Westbury-based credit union NEFCU is once again supporting the efforts of the United Way of Long Island by donating $2,000 to its “Mission United” initiative that aids returning veterans and their families on Long Island. Since it began supporting the “Mission United” initiative, NEFCU has donated more than $9,000 to United Way of Long Island’s efforts to assist returning servicemen and women. Valerie Garguilo, vice president of marketing and community relations for

NEFCU, presented United Way of Long Island President Theresa Regnante with the $2,000 check during a ceremony held at NEFCU’s headquarters. Mission United aids veterans and their families on Long Island. The program provides them with the services needed to identify a career path and achieve financial stability. This includes emergency financial assistance, career training, employment linkages, veteran resources and case management. “Over the last 75 years NEFCU has proudly supported our
