David Tran, an eighth grader at Deer Park’s Robert Frost Middle School, recently wrote and published the book “Brave Dave,” illustrated by longtime Robert Frost

art teacher Danielle Menig. A story about Tran’s battle against leukemia when he was three years old, the book describes how despite all of his struggles, he always

looked at the bright side of things. Tran held a charity book signing where he raised close to $400 for the Childhood Leukemia Foundation.

Deer Park’s College & Career Fair Proves A Resounding Success Over 80 college and other representatives attended Deer Park High School’s College & Career Fair on Oct. 25. Attending students and parents had the opportunity to speak with admissions counselors and learn more about the programs they offer. The school’s guidance department was also on hand to provide information, including
