Rhonda Klch, Executive Director of the Equity First Foundation has taken all necessary steps to get out of her comfort zone and attack COVID with her resources. As a women entrepreneur, she used her relationships, social media and community to power through this current pandemic. Although EFF has switched their programs from in person to virtual, they have been well received. They continue to offer free financial counseling and outreach resources for numerous families on Long Island. The Equity First Foundation has three different types of programs that they offer:

Educational Institution Program This program focuses on k-12, post secondary, and trade schools with student types comprised of all abilities including special needs and developmentally disabled. It is offered as a workshop / assembly that can last for as short as 45 minutes to as long as a full day or mini series. Each program is uniquely designed to fit the educational facility after a comprehensive needs analysis. Some sample topics that can be addressed are:

career options by salary, understanding money management, life skills, healthy financial choices, creating a budget, creating a savings account and more. Community Outreach Program The Community Outreach Program focuses on independent facilities, partnering charities and nonprofits, community centers, libraries, career fairs, guest speakers, events and more for all demographics. These are offered in as short as 45 minutes to as long as a full day or mini series. Some sample topics are: first time home-buyer, understanding student loans, improving your credit, avoiding senior scams, understanding your retirement plan and more. Corporate Awareness Program This program focuses on a lunch and learn structure for 10 or more employees. Some sample topics are: paying off debt, understanding your 401K, saving for vacation, your family on a budget and benefits of good credit. Back by popular demand from the community, the Order of the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Constantino Brumidi Lodge N0. 2211 in Deer Park, hosted a third Community Italian Food Take-Out Service. The event took place on Thursday, June 25th, 2020 at their lodge located at 2075 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park. Customers were given a choice of two (2) Italian dinners; Meatballs with Pasta and Penne ala vodka with sausage and
one (1) American style meal, Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and String Beans. Each meal was again served with dinner rolls and Italian cookies. Orders were place during a seven day period and customers would drive up to the lodge takeout door between 4:00pm and 6:00pm on June 25th to pick up their orders. Lodge members and the community looked forward to the event and loved the 3 home cooked Meals.
Orders must be placed by Wednesday, July 29th no later than 8 pm. There is a choice of three (3) types of Italian Meals; 1. Stuffed peppers with string beans, roll and Italian cookies,
2. Stuffed Shells and Meatballs, roll and Italian cookies, 3. Pasta ala Vodka with sausage, roll and Italian cookies. Each meal is $8.00 or 2/$15.
