The students were juried on two of their best pieces of writing, with their teachers helping them from their portfolios. LILAC honored the winners and their teachers on May 20 with a luncheon
and reading at Capt. Bill’s Restaurant in Bay Shore. “We are exceedingly proud of these young writers and the moving work they produced,” said Justin Uliano, Deer Park’s ELA curriculum associate.
