Enter Power to Feed Long Island – a partnership between Island Harvest Food Bank and PSEG Long Island to rally the Long Island community to donate food to support neighbors facing food insecurity. 19TH ANNUAL LONG ISLAND BLUEGRASS & ROOTS MUSIC FESTIVAL - The Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) and the Town of Babylon, in cooperation with Suffolk County and the Bluegrass Club of Long Island, is pleased to announce the 19th Annual Long Island Bluegrass & Roots Music Festival, which will take place on August 21, 2021 from Noon to 7PM at Tanner Park in Copiague, located in a beautiful setting on the Great South Bay of Long Island. Bluegrass & Roots Music Festival is an afternoon of traditional Bluegrass, Americana, and Roots Music, plus workshops, food and beverage vendors, and fun! There is also a hosted ‘Jam Area’ for those who play bluegrass music on any level and want to bring an instrument so they can join in during the afternoon. Long Island Live Steamers may well be the best kept secret on Long Island. The county has made about 8.5 acres of land available for them, which their railroad operates on. In fulﬁllment of the public trust use of park land, Long Island Live Steamers hosts visitor rides on our Public Run Days typically scheduled for the second and last Sundays of each month from the middle of May through the end of October. The hours of operation during a public run day are 10:30AM-3PM. There is no charge for rides on Run Days, however they accept donations of any size. Their operation is solely funded by donations.

Besides their ground track, they also have a dual gauge high line which features an elevated track, which runs through the forest.

The Suffolk County Department of Health will be providing free immunizations for children, as well as free Pfizer COVID vaccines to anyone 12 and older at the Copiague Memorial Public Library located at 50 Deauville Boulevard in Copiague. The second Pfizer Covid vaccine will also be administered at the Library on Thursday, September 2 from 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with documentation. Each child must have their immunization record with them. All shots are being provided on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive 30 minutes before the program’s end

Brooks (SD-8) spent several hours Tuesday morning, July 20th, volunteering his time at the Lindenhurst facility of L.I. Cares/Harry Chapin Foodbank as part of his ongoing mission to further understand the needs of his district. Senator Brooks met with Program Coordinator Marc Leonelli and several other members of the L.I. Cares staff to discuss their ongoing fight against hunger and the multileveled logistical operations they oversee daily. As part of his visit, Senator Brooks also spent time assisting with the vital work of L.I. Cares, stacking shelves and putting together care packages for customers who came through. L.I. Cares was founded in

1980 by singer-songwriter and activist Harry Chaplin to assist Long Island’s hungry and food insecure populations. In the 40 years since its founding, it has done that and more, working tirelessly to help countless Long Islanders every year. L.I. Cares distributes tens of millions of pounds of food and supplies annually to those in need. The life-saving work of this organization has resulted in the distribution of more than 1.4 million meals, helping more than 230,000 Long Island residents feed themselves and their families. “Seeing first-hand the work that L.I.
