I have also assisted families in arranging personal memorial services in their own home or restaurants where friends gathered to reflect and share memories. My point in that a funeral should reflect the life of your loved one. Whether the service is a tradional funeral with a wake, funeral mass and an interment or the service is a memorial mass or memorial funeral service which takes place after the cremation or interment. The funeral is for you and your family and friends to come together to offer support, love and share memories which help you get through a most diffcult time. If you have a question call us. The Charity of the Month for July is: Rebuilding Together Long Island

Rebuilding Together Long Island (RTLI) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is an affiliate of the national organization, Rebuilding Together. RTLI works yearround with their focus on keeping people safe in their home, as well as making sure that they have safe access into their home. While most of their clients are elderly, they will help anyone who meets their income guidelines and classify as low-income with limited assets. Additionally, they have a special program to help our deserving veterans in need. As a way to thank them for their service, they created the Hero Home Improvement Program, which aligns with their mission of repairing homes, revitalizing communities and rebuilding lives. This organization performs repairs including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and home modifications (including wheelchair ramps for the physically challenged), weatherization, installation of smoke alarms, back and front yard clean-ups and more. Since 1992 they have provided repairs to over 2,600 homeowners in need at a current pace of over 150 projects annually within Nassau and Suffolk. There are many ways that you can become involved with RTLI, whether that be individually or as a company! Corporate sponsors are a huge help to the organization and it can benefit your company greatly as well. Corporate sponsors are companies that make the decision to fund a RTLI project for someone in need. Their employees will be able to participate in hands on work with the project they sponsor so their company can

have the chance to take part in a team building and community leadership opportunity. When they become a corporate sponsor, companies will get to see immediate positive impact on the life of a senior, veteran, disabled individual or a family in need, while demonstrating their company’s commitment to community service and improving the quality of life right here on Long Island. These sponsors will also get acknowledged on the RTLI website, in their quarterly newsletter and on social media. Additionally, if you are a business professional and are interested in getting involved with Rebuilding Together Long Island, the opportunity is available. RTLI is now interviewing business professionals to become an integral part of their Advisory Board and help advance their mission, whether it be through financial contributions, in-kind donations, networking capabilities or another way. Athletes Honored

West Babylon School District recently held its spring varsity athletic awards celebration. The district honored all of the varsity athletes who competed during the spring sports season. This year’s superintendent’s awards

were presented to Caitlin McGuire and Jay Santana. The All-Around Senior Athlete award receipients were Emily Heller and Matt Volz. Two West Babylon senior athletes, Brenden Reese and Nadja Ashley, were also honored at the

Butch Dellecave Awards. The Dellecave Award is presented to a male and female student-athlete who has athletic prowess, demonstrates excellence in the classroom and contributes within the community.

Celebrating Student And Staff Accomplishments The North Babylon Board of Education closed its 2018-2019 school year by celebrating student and staff accomplishments at its June 20 meeting. The district presented certificates to students recognized for their achievements in the Brookhaven National Science Fair. Student members of the Upstander Ambassador initiative were also recognized by the board, Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly and Town of Babylon Councilman Terence McSweeney. Superintendent of Schools Glen Eschbach presented 13 staff members from across the district for tenure. Mr. Eschbach provided certificates to all recipients and commemorated them for their hard work and commitment to the district and community.

“Many things are factored when making tenure recommendations and I can honestly say that each of you have gone above and beyond my expectations and I see a very bright future for not only you but for the students of the North Babylon School District who will benefit from your instruction for years to come,” Mr. Eschbach said. “Congratulations on reaching this point and milestone in your career. I look forward to our future together and wish you a long and happy career here in the North Babylon School District.” The festivities continued with recognitions of retirees and staff members celebrating their 25th year of service in the district. In addition, district parent John Heegan also received a certificate of appreciation for donating his time,

materials and craftmanship to create the trophy cases at the entrance of the North Babylon High School. The district congratulates all who demonstrated hard work and determination throughout the school year.

Band Takes Home Silver Medal The North Babylon High School Concert band took home a silver award medal at the New York State School Music Association Majors Festival, which highlighted several talented ensembles from across Long Island. North Babylon was awarded the silver medal for demonstrating an

excellent level of technical and artistic skill. The band consisted of 90 members and was evaluated by two professional adjudicators on various musical concepts including balance, blend, tempo, style, dynamics and accuracy. The festival challenged the students to rehearse
