The NY State government has put detailed guidelines in place for all businesses, not just veterinarians. For example, medical facilities are required to screen patients before admitting them into the facility.

However right now we are required to follow guidelines issued by New York State that state “Curbside intake and pickup of animals should be used, wherever practical, to minimize the numbers of clients in waiting areas and exam rooms.”* Although that creates a lot of extra work for our staff, we are committed to complying with the NY State safety guidelines during the COVID-19 crisis, and to protect our client’s health and safety. *Exceptions can be made in situations like euthanasia

Hope House Ministries (HHM) is a non-profit organization located in Port Jefferson. They provide compassionate, comprehensive and competent care for the poor, the marginal and the wounded among us. This commitment is woven in the Gospel vision that all life is sacred and every human person is unique and has the right to be respected and protected. They have accomplished much over the 40+ years they have been helping others with minimal financial assistance from federal, state or county agencies. They depend on the generosity of private contributions, fundraising events and corporate donations. Hope House Ministries services people in both Nassau County and Suffolk County, offering services free of charge. Together, their staff and volunteers have created an empowering sense of family and community that are the change agents, helping young people grow in self-discipline, critical thinking, problem solving skills and personal responsibility. There are so many ways that this non-profit can truly help you get your life on a better track. Additionally, there are plenty of ways for people to get involved in helping others through volunteering. BABYLON BREAST CANCER COALITION HOSTS FOR THE LOVE OF MOM WALK - On Friday, May 7th, Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey joined Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition President Karen Kunkel and Town of Babylon Clerk Gerry Compitello for the Coalition’s For the Love of Mom Walk at Babylon Town Hall. The walk doubled as a raffle and plant sale to help raise funds for the Lend A Helping Hand program, which assists women and their families in active treatment for breast and gynecological cancer. LOCAL LEGISLATORS ATTEND POLICE COMMISSIONER RETIREMENT - On Friday, May 7th, Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey joined Legislators Tom Donnelly, Susan Berland, and Sarah Anker at Suffolk County Police Department Headquarters for the walkout ceremony of Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart. Commissioner Hart is a true trailblazer, who served as the first female to lead the department and spent the last three years taking charge of matters such as community policing, anti-corruption, police reform, MS-13, and even the Gilgo serial killings case. Boy Scout Troop 399 Honored Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly (D-Huntington Station), along with Town of Babylon officials Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilman Terry McSweeney honored local Boy Scout Troop 399 for their watershed clean-up efforts in North Babylon in a ceremony at Babylon Town Hall in Lindenhurst on Saturday, May 1.

Creek along Longfellow Avenue in North Babylon on Saturday, April 24. “By volunteering to participate in this cleanup, these scouts showed not only commitment to community, but to our local environment as well,” said Legislator Donnelly. “I thank all those involved for ensuring the area that we love remains just as beautiful as always.”
