Town of Babylon Honors Eagle Scout Lorenzo Napolitano
The Town of Babylon proudly congratulates Lorenzo Napolitano of Boy Scout Troop 399 on earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, dedication to service, and commitment to his community.
For his Eagle Scout service project, Lorenzo designed and constructed a food donation drop box for the North Babylon
Food Pantry at St. Paul’s Reformed Church. The weather-protected structure provides residents with a secure place to leave food donations outside of the pantry’s operating hours, ensuring donations remain safe from the elements until volunteers are able to bring them inside.
Lorenzo selected the project as a way to give back to St. Paul’s Reformed Church, where Troop 399 has held meetings for
many years. His thoughtful project will help strengthen the food pantry’s mission of serving families in need throughout the community.
“Earning the rank of Eagle Scout represents years of hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to serving others,” said Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer. “Lorenzo’s project addresses a real
need in our community while demonstrating the leadership and compassion that define an Eagle Scout. We are incredibly proud of his accomplishment and grateful for the lasting impact he has made on behalf of local families.”
Councilman Terence McSweeney also praised Lorenzo’s achievement and the spirit of volunteerism it represents.
“As someone who has spent a lifetime in public service, I have always admired the values Scouting instills in our young people,” said Councilman Terence McSweeney. “Lorenzo saw a need, developed a solution, and created something that will benefit our community for years to come. His project reflects the very best of what it means to be an Eagle Scout—leadership, selflessness, and service to others. Congratulations
to Lorenzo, his family, and everyone at Troop 399 on this tremendous achievement.”
The Town of Babylon congratulates Lorenzo Napolitano on becoming Troop 399’s 84th Eagle Scout and thanks him for his dedication to making the community a better place. His Eagle Scout project will continue to support the North Babylon Food Pantry and the many families who rely on its services for years to come.

Food Drive August 8th At Amityville Farmer’s Market
A Food and Supplies Drive will be held on Saturday, August 8, at the Amityville Village Farmer’s Market to benefit the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless. A “Stock the Ship” Drive is noted on their Facebook page as well as the Bay Village Civic Association, sponsor of the Market.

The Market is located on the Great Lawn next to First United Methodist Church at 25 Broadway.

Farm fresh produce, baked goods, empanadas, pickles, bread, cheese, etc. are offered. Besides food vendors, a variety of wonderful craft vendors exhibit their goods. They include “Amityville on
