Long Island’s largest and most premier car show experience returns to TOBAY Beach on Sunday, April 26th, from 11am to 4pm. “Car Show Long Island” features hundreds of automobiles, trucks, military vehicles, and emergency service vehicles. A live concert performed by That 70’s Band will take place during the day, followed by trophy presentations. The event is free for spectators.

With a diverse range of vehicles showcased, car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to admire and interact with some of

the most impressive cars around. This free familyfun event is a perfect way to spend the day, all with the beautiful backdrop of TOBAY Beach. Spectators can check out cool cars, vendors, exhibits and enjoy live music while surrounded by Long Island’s best classic, muscle, antique and exotic cars.”

Car Show Long Island’s 2026 TOBAY Beach Spring Classic features some of the hottest and most classic cars in the tri-state region. While enjoying live music performed by That 70’s Band and great eats from the Food Truck Corral presented by Eagle Chevy Performance, thousands of spectators are expected throughout the day to get up close and personal with Long Island’s best classic, muscle, antique and exotic cars. Trophies will

be awarded in each class, and children will have a say when deeming which rides are their favorites in the Kids’ Choice Award. Massapequa Kiwanis – Helping Our Community

The Massapequa Kiwanis is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. One of the unique services the organization proudly offers is the installation of handicapped ramps at no cost for those in need.

Currently, more than 10 ramps have been installed throughout the neighborhood, helping individuals safely access their homes and improve their mobility.

To continue providing this essential service, the organization relies on the generosity of the community. Ramps are often acquired from residents who no longer need them. While there is typically a cost to dismantle and remove these structures, Massapequa Kiwanis offers this service free of charge in exchange for the donation of the ramp.

Those who have a ramp they no longer need—or know someone who does—are encouraged to reach out. Donated ramps can be repurposed to assist neighbors in need.

Residents Invited To Submit Photos For Town Publications

Oyster Bay Town Councilman Tom Hand invites residents to submit photos taken in the Town of Oyster Bay to be considered for future use in Town publications.

“We accept photos year-round submitted by our residents which depict people, places, community events and scenery throughout our Town,” said Councilman Hand. “We accept photos for the calendar, as well as

other Town publications, including our website, social media pages and brochures.”

Councilman Hand noted that photos should be taken within the confines of the Town of Oyster Bay. Digital submissions are preferred, but high-quality photos may also be submitted.

Emailed photos should be sent to photos@oysterbayny.gov. Printed photos can be submitted to the

Town’s Public Information Office, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay NY 11771. Residents should make sure their name, address, phone number and brief description of the photo are included with their submission. The photographer is responsible for the correct spelling of the names and subjects in the photos, as well as notifying subjects they may appear in a Town publication.

Work At ‘Art In The Park’

Councilman Tom Hand is inviting local artists and artisans to participate in a special day of creativity and community at Art in the Park. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 30th, at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park & Beach in Oyster Bay, offering a unique platform for talented individuals to display and sell their handcrafted creations. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 15, 2026.

“Art in the Park provides an incredible opportunity for local artists and artisans to showcase their best work, connect with the community, and gain recognition,” said Councilman Hand. “Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your creativity and be part of a vibrant community event, featuring live music, food trucks, and fun activities for kids.”

Artists and artisans must be 18 years or older and can only display and sell original, handcrafted pieces. Commercial or massproduced items will not be permitted. Participants are responsible for supplying their own 10x10 canopy and any additional equipment needed for their space. Character Education Day Builds Kindness, Breaks

Meaningful discussions about good character took place throughout March 25 at Berner Middle School in the Massapequa School District. The annual Chiefs Challenge Character Education Day featured activities each period designed to promote communication, teamwork and friendship.

Coordinated by the Chiefs Challenge Club under the direction of advisers Caroline Glynn and Juliette Happe, the program included assemblies and classroom lessons focused on bullying prevention, positive relationships and personal growth. Students participated in activities such as the index card challenge, where teams built free-standing structures, and a “famous failures” escape room highlighting perseverance.

Grade-level presentations addressed topics including cyberbullying, being an upstander versus a bystander and the qualities of strong friendships, with follow-up discussions held in classrooms.

The day concluded with a period of reflection, as student leaders expressed hope that the experience would make a lasting, positive impact and help create a more supportive school environment.

At a time when high school sports are becoming increasingly intense on both the sidelines and in the stands, Kellenberg Memorial stands as a beacon of sportsmanship, with both the boys and girls basketball programs earning prestigious awards this season.

The boys basketball program has been honored with the James Greene Sportsmanship Award from the IAABO Long Island Board #41 Referees Association. This marks

the fourth consecutive year they have received this recognition, adding to an extraordinary total of 14 overall selections in the program’s history.

The James Greene Sportsmanship Award recognizes the program that best demonstrates respect, integrity, and sportsmanship across Long Island.

The girls’ basketball team was also honored, earning the NSCHSGAA League Sportsmanship Award, as voted by league coaches.

This award celebrates exemplary character, respect, and fair play.

“Our Athletic Department strives to teach our studentathletes many lessons, with Civility being one of the most important,” said Athletic Director John Fechtmann. “We are extremely proud of the players and coaches of both our Girls and Boys Basketball teams. These players are true representatives of our Catholic high school values of Civility, Order, and Respect.”

This eight-race series will begin Monday, June 8 and will run through Monday, August 10, 2026. Participation in the Summer Run Series will be limited to a total of 4,000 runners. Local Businesses Invited To Participate In Upcoming Health & Wellness Fair

Do you have a health and wellness business? Oyster Bay Town Councilman Andrew Monteleone invites local businesses to participate in an upcoming Health & Wellness Fair being held in conjunction with the 2026 Empire State Ride Long Island, taking place on the streets of Oyster Bay on Saturday, June 13th.

“The Empire State Ride is Long Island’s largest charitable cycling fundraiser to benefit cancer research, and this year the event will feature a Health & Wellness Fair on the streets of Oyster Bay,” said Councilman Monteleone.

Event coordinators, including the Town of Oyster Bay, Oyster Bay-East Norwich Chamber of Commerce and Empire State Ride Long Island, are inviting potential vendors who believe their company would benefit from participating in the program to reach out today. Town Launches Environmental Poster Contest For 4th Graders

Calling all young artists and environmentalists! Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Andrew Monteleone announced the return of the Town’s Environmental Poster Contest, open to all 4th grade students in the Town of Oyster Bay.

This year’s theme, ‘Bee’ a Friend to Pollinators, encourages students to showcase the vital role pollinators play in providing a healthy and sustainable future for food and our environment.

“This contest is a fantastic way to inspire young minds about the importance of protecting our natural resources,” said Supervisor Saladino. “By learning about the benefits of pollinators, students gain a greater appreciation for the environment and the role

that pollination plays in safeguarding our future.”

Students are invited to get creative and design a poster highlighting how pollinators help plants grow and keep the environment healthy. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators play a big role in making flowers bloom, producing food and supporting ecosystems. Students are encouraged to create posters that may show:

• Different types of pollinators

• Flowers and Native Plants that Pollinators Love

• Ways we can help Pollinators – some examples include planting native flowers and gardens, creating and protecting habitats, reducing pesticide use or keeping our

Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board invite residents to shine a spotlight on local heroes by submitting nominations for the Town of Oyster Bay’s annual Veterans Volunteer Awards. This meaningful program honors individuals who go above and beyond in serving and supporting the veteran community through compassion, advocacy, and selfless dedication.

Honorees will be recognized during the Town’s ‘Salute to America’ Celebration on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at John Burns Park—an evening featuring live music and a spectacular

communities clean and green.
