Councilman Terence McSweeney, DuWayne Gregory, and the town board recently organized a toy drive for the US Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program. This initiative aims to bring joy and hope to underprivileged children during the Christmas season. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation works alongside the U.S. Marine Corps to provide tangible signs of hope to economically disadvantaged children. Councilmen McSweeney and Gregory expressed their deep appreciation for the overwhelming support received from the community and town employees. McSweeney also mentioned the generosity of his neighbors and friends who contributed new toys and clothes, making this year's charity drive a tremendous success.

“KIDS NEED MoRE” Elf Run Charity Event
“KIDS NEED MoRE” ELF RUN CHARITY EVENT - On Sunday, December 17th, Realtors Vincenzo Boscaino and Michelle Stabile of GEN X REALTY, were one of the many sponsors to participate in the “KIDS NEED MoRE” Elf Run event, where over 1000 volunteers dressed as Santas, Elves, and Holiday Helpers, boarded over 50 buses to hand deliver bags filled with gifts and toys to families across Long Island. Vincenzo and Michelle stated “Today was a day filled with kindness, fun, and what the season of giving truly means. While these kids might tell their friends about their visit from Santa and their helpers at school this week, we will be talking about this experience for years to come. The smiles on these families’ faces were priceless and a moment frozen in time for us.”
Gershow Recycling was a major sponsor of the KiDS NEED MoRE HoLiDAY CHEER BUS Elf Ride, which took place at the group’s headquarters in Amityville December 17.
The company generously contributed $2,500 as a key supporter of this festive event. Jonathan Abrams of Gershow Recycling addressed the crowd during
the press conference. “These children have been through a lot in their lives and, today, we want to make this day a very special day for them,” he said. “I wish to commend everyone at
KiDS NEED MoRE for the work that they do. This is an organization that truly performs miracles.” KiDS NEED MoRE is renowned for its various programs aimed at
enriching the lives of children and families facing life-threatening illnesses and traumatic interruptions of the normal childhood experience. Each year, since its inception

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and Live Nation Inc. are pleased to invite park visitors to enjoy the Magic of Lights Spectacular within Jones Beach State Park. This amazing display of over 1M lights, runs at dusk (approximately 5PM) now through December 30th. Tickets can be purchased online or at the entrance. Standard vehicles are $35 Monday – Thursday and $40 Friday – Sunday. If you would like to purchase your ticket in advance tickets are
$30 by visiting https:// magicoflights.com/ events/jonesbeach/. There are additional rates for limos and buses which can also be found on the website. Children and young adults will enjoy the traditional 12 days of Christmas, but also Barbie Lane and the Prehistoric Section. There is also an indoor holiday village where guests can meet Santa, purchase holiday food and refreshments, and enjoy walking through the illuminating mega trees which are sure to delight all. The New York State Office of Parks,

Worn by employees, masks offer a physical barrier to flu transmission. This is a comprehensive endeavor to protect patients, visitors, and employees from exposure to the flu

In addition, all hospitals adhere to rigorous infection control guidelines and policies every day to ensure a clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Antiseptic wipes are located in patient rooms, workstations, hallways, and other treatment areas and are easily accessible to hospital employees responsible for sanitizing medical equipment and surface areas. “Flu prevention is a priority at all hospitals on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley. Hospital employees work every day to lessen the spread of flu virus by adhering to strict infection control practices and prevention guidelines,” said Wendy Darwell, president/CEO of the Suburban Hospital Alliance of New York State, the organization that represents hospitals in the nine counties east and north of New York

‘Santa’s Elves’ Give Back At Amityville Memorial High School In the spirit of the holidays and giving back, Amityville Memorial High School’s Warrior Awareness Club student members once again participated in the Christmas Magic program. The nonprofit program was formed in 1990 through the efforts of a single father, Charlie Russo, a Hauppauge attorney. He wanted to teach his children the true meaning of Christmas. More than the 30 years, the organization has grown into hundreds of Long Island families giving back to

Christmas Magic has touched the lives of more than 11,000 Long Island children in more than 55 shelters, agencies, programs, churches and schools. “Being a part of WAC PAC during the holiday season is the best,” said WAC PAC student member Kazima Muwwakkil. “It’s like we’re Santa’s elves, but way cooler and with fun t-shirts.” WAC PAC members shopped for 90 kids from the Youth Enrichment Services program in Central Islip. The Warrior
Awareness Club took three trips to Target in Copiague to shop for children who are struggling during the holidays. “Receiving is not where the Christmas magic stops with the WAC PAC,” said Marcus Faublus, another student member of the WAC PAC. To ensure gifts met the specific needs of the children the Amityville students were buying gifts for, they were given an information sheet that included each child’s age, gender, clothing size and interest.
